Sorry, I should have put a /s at the end of my comment. I just think it's funny that we used to be upset when recruits used the chicken for us and now, with the turkey, we can make fun of other teams (especially UVA when they learn how to recruit again). I enjoy a good male anatomy joke, especially at the expense of SEC teams. Keep up the hard work.

As of right now, I expect that Rivers and Griffin will be backers. Kearny and Ashby are mikes.
To me, Artis is a mike. Hollifield is a backer. Tisdale would be ideal at whip, but his kind of talent isn't suited to a part time role. If he can cover from the whip spot, Foster has a really unique weapon. If not, don't be shocked that Tisdale ends up being a very good backer. To me, linebacker is very crowded. If the Hokies land Tisdale, Hollifield, and Artis, there is some serious competition at a position where depth was a huge concern just a couple of years ago.
You think landing Tisdale would dissuade Dax? TOS seems to think so.
More of a Vince Hall & Adibi backer core, they won't be playing the same position

I don't think Tisdale factors on Hollifield at first. Tisdale will open at whip, and then his physical growth and coverage ability will predicate a move inside. Initially, Hollifield will likely be watching and listening regarding the development of Beckett and Rivers (depending on where Bud envisions Hollifield-Artis is a whip so if both are takes, then it is safe to assume Hollifield would be a backer, which means Rivers, Hollifield, and Griffin are competing for limited reps.)
It is fascinating to watch when you disconnect emotionally. There are so many unknowns and dominoes due to the fact that none of us have seen Kearny, Ashby, Rivers, Tisdale, Artis, or Hollifield in pads against P5 offenses, so projecting scenarios blind has a high likelihood of inaccuracy. I can say that I feel if Beckett is the starting mike for two years, the D will be fine.

Was VT ever in the picture for Juan? He's moving to safety this season, starting opposite Blanding. I hate UVa but occasionally root for local guys who end up there. Bedford native so I've got some ties to the "A."
No, he was nice to VT when they came around but he was UVA the whole way. London was on him young and made him a priority when he went for visits which felt like every week.
Great kid and has shaped up to be a great player for them. He came into town a few weeks ago and ran into one of the coaches I coached with. Juan told him it is different but he still loves it and working to get better everyday. He's got the work ethic and demeanor that reminds me of a Hokie just wears the wrong colors. Dude has a nose for the ball. Only reason I bare to watch UVA games.
We played against Galax when Peoples was there and it seemed like they were the only two guys on the field. Just different gears. I emailed VT the next day to take a look at Peoples. So you can thank me for that!

As I recall, loluva threw him at us in a sneak attack, I think his senior year, as QB, and he damn near beat us. We weren't prepared for him, and he could run the ball.
Yeeep. I was at that game. Hall was a tremendous athlete and Groh basically never let him see the field, much less take a snap. Shame.
Juan Thornhill is another great athlete from that area and his talent is gonna get wasted up there at loluva .
Vic was fun to watch and never used right.

The guy took Gretna to the State title on his own by being a freakish athlete who could turn a turd sandwich to gold on any given play, and put him at CB because.... reasons. Its like us taking a TE and then....

I wish I could think of more PC way to put this, but looking at who is already on a team, and especially one year ahead of you in development, is something to think about when deciding what school to go to. Backing off because you are afraid to compete with another recruit - we'll, if you don't think you can you'll probably end up right. That does not seem like anything I've heard about Dax, or really any 4* we're recruiting.
It's what Bama preaches (5* players aren't afraid of competition), but they can say that since they're always loaded and always compete for nattys. I'm not sure we're at that point to say that yet. We need to lure in talent before saying "talent competes with talent".

July is about freedom and fireworks. Don't know the number but there will be excitement. The cook out is looming! Based on trends looks for some commitments before the cookout to get it started and some after. How many I don't know, but it will be fun.
