The American Flag Football League, which aims to launch eight league-owned franchises in 2018, is hosting a game featuring Vick and former NFL running back Justin Forsett at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, California, on June 27.
The idea is brainchild of financier Jeff Lewis, who thought, while watching his son play flag football last Fall, that there was a business to be had by organizing some of the world's best athletes playing the game.
"I just thought to myself, 'what would this look like if great athletes played this?'" Lewis said. "There's certainly a huge pool to take guys from. Every single year, NFL teams cut 800 guys. We need less than 100 players to field eight teams."
This could be great or another failed pro football league.

Mike Vick is the flag football QB every single intramural flag football QB thinks he is
I mean, I'll take anything over baseball during the summers...
Getting some (ex) pro players in flag football you say.
You can take the man out of the league... but can you ever take the league out of the man?

That trip at the 40 second mark...reminds me of a certain UVA coach from the 90s
wouldnt be surprised at all if this caught on what with concussion issues in the nfl and roger goodell doing roger goodell things. its the perfect time to capitalize on it
I am sure this is one of the primary drivers behind this concept. I don't think this will really take off because a player's athleticism can really be reigned in by a guy able to flail an arm out and grab a flag. YAC and yards after contact become non-existent and the game stops a whole lot more.
In order to keep the game exciting the rules would have to be modified to increase pace of play, the flags be really small and all over a guy like a ghillie suit, or some other means to reduce stoppage of play by a player barely catching a flag. The O-Line and D-line roles will need a major overhaul as these were the toughest concepts for IM flag football players to figure out.
I like the idea of this being a "senior tour", but fans won't get behind the sport if it always feels like an exhibition game. It will take real athletes and a real sense of competition.
This could be the football equivalent of the PGA senior tour. There's potential here
David Wilson can make a come back!
Imagine Vick with Wilson lined up in the backfield just running an option all game long. I don't know how you'd be able to grab either of their flags.
sounds like something televised on

The video clips from this on twitter are great. Hoping they stream it.
Looks like it's live streaming on MV7's FB:
EDIT: Not a live stream of the game, just a play or two
FWIW Vick isn't the only hokie on that team. Eddie Whitley and Aaron rouse are the safeties and James Anderson a LB. I wanna say there are a couple more too but I cant remember, I talked to whit the day he was headed out there and he showed me the roster. they were pretty stacked it looked like on paper.
I found the rosters on this site: http://broncoswire.usatoday.com/2017/06/23/american-flag-football-league-rosters-mike-vick-terrell-ownens/
I'd much rather watch this than the newly released NBA Street: Old, Washed up, and/or Fat edition.
sounds like Ice Cube's 3 on 3 half court league... https://big3.com
That was surprisingly fun to watch the highlights.
Here's an article with highlights and box score:

Looks like Vick was sensational!
I'd kill to see David Wilson play in this.
I know Vick threw for 8 TDs but he has 0 rushing attempts. I would love to see vick zig zagging through defenses with guys hoping to snag a flag. Looks like the QB isn't allowed to rush, kind of dampens the draw.
specially when your QB depth chart consist of mike vick and dennis Dixon...
Full game now available.
NFL network right now Vick and Jarrett Boykin playing. Aaron Rouse is there too.
I was going to go to that game tonight (it was at Kennesaw State), but I had tickets to see Foreigner at the same time.
Whelp Boykin drops a pass.
Maybe they don't have gloves in his size./s
