Interesting, to say the least.
While I'm on the topic of the uniform, judging from the pictures that the VT Equipment guys have been posting to Twitter the last couple days as they have been unboxing their fall shipment from Nike, I would almost guarantee a black uniform is in the works again this year. We have a black version of just about every sideline article of clothing.

Also, it looks like the bookstore got that shipment of shirts from 2002.
We very well could have a black uniform, but black apparel is a standard color for training and sideline clothing for many years now.
They had them for sale at the Roanoke Hokie Club dinner, not quite as cool as the UT Prosim shirts. Like was said above...these look a solid 20yrs old.

We went 9-6, including a season of 4-1 in 1894 when we outscored out opponents 112-10 on the season while wearing black and grey between 1892 and 1895 before we switched to orange and maroon in 1896

2) The helmet is missing the stripes (unless we don't have stripes on the helmets this year).
It could just be a crappy shirt that a designer picked the last game's helmets for the shirt.

Either Fuente or Babcock has basically said no alternative uniform color combinations to be worn this year white, orange, maroon and that's it

Technically black and grey are "traditional" colors.
but said nothing about helmets. He's all about the trademark and the regular VT on the helmet is what he wants.

I'm guessing these are the same helmets as Belk Bowl which I believe were said to be coming into the regular rotation. But I was still on a high in the week after that game so I don't really remember what was said.

I saw a VT Equipment video recently going through all of their deliveries and I saw orange jerseys hanging up.
All orange everything would be awful.
