Getting close new parking and seats. Who's close by?

With all the new season ticket holders and because many of us had to change seats and parking. It's time to meet your neighbors. We are in section 15 row MMM and lot 9. What key players are nearby?
Post your seats and lot number to meet your fellow tailgaters. Go Hokies!!

We're in section 33 row 4a. We don't have a parking pass yet but always try for lot 9, so we'll see you there.

Related, if anyone is selling a lot 9 pass hit me up.

Yep! 33L.

Nice! I will stop by to say hello before the Delaware game. I will only be making that one and the Clemson game as I am splitting my seats with a 757 Hokie this year. Remind me to give you my contact info in case you have extras or need extras in the future.

Will do! You can always email me at aaronj1159 (at) gmail (dot) com. We have 5 tickets for the season and as the local I'm the guaranteed attendee for each game.

That's great - I will send you an email shortly.

I'm going to right near ya. First time there for me, how's the section?

It's the first time in these seats for me as well. We did catch the GT game last year from the same vicinity though and even with the poor result we had a fantastic time. Good people around us. Hope that remains true this season.

This is my first time here for season tickets although I have been nearby multiple times in recent years. I have always enjoyed the view and feel of the lower rows of sections 27 - 33 and try to sit there when possible.

Given that we are all there now, it's going to be lively for 2017. I will be sure to stop by to say hello.

Section 15, row TT. In lot 18 with all of the cool people.

I'll be holding down the south endzone...alone...because you left me. Nah, I won't be alone. I still have the "hike" guy...and my ass pocket.

If you play it, they will win.

When did this become a tradition? Wasn't going on (not that I saw anyways) from 2001-2007

Now finish up them taters; I'm gonna go fondle my sweaters.

It was. It happened the instant they started giving us paper tickets instead of a proper ticket. (I know 2004 had proper tickets. Can't remember if paper started in 2005 or later).

And it's stupid. One of these days we're going to get the ref who flags us for it.

It was around 2009, first time I remember seeing it was at a Thursday night UNCheat game. Back then, students had printed tickets and HC members were given actual tickets.

Yep. I had tickets in the east for that game. Was hilarious early on, but once the game started back up it got old quickly. I remember one took off really high and we all knew it had the potential to make it to the field. East and north went nuts lol

Amateur superstar and idiot extraordinaire.

My tradition when they started making us print paper tickets was to print as many free McDonald's double cheeseburgers as my printer could handle and then gain a lot of weight

Section 31
Lion's Club Lot

Same seats as always: corner of Touchdown Terrace.

Moved the parking up to Lot 16 this year since it's about as close to the Lot 18 tailgate as we were in the boondocks part of Lot 18 anyway.

2026 Season Challenge: TBD
Previous Challenges: Star Wars (2019), Marvel (2020), Batman (2021), Wrasslin' (2022)

as we were in the boondocks part of Lot 18 anyway

I love a good nap. Sometimes that's all that's getting me out of bed in the morning.

Yeah. Having to park all the way at the other end of 18 was a longer walk to the tailgate then parking in 16 will be.

Its a free for all man, you can park where ever!

Sec 7 row VV, Upper Chicken Hill. First time in 15+ years that we won't be tailgating in lot 8.

If you're in odd seats, I have seats in the row in front of you- seats 11-19

I do indeed, seats 13-19.

My family will be in section 3, row DDD. Parking in lot 16 (the cage).

I see we went with the Platinum package...

As always, I'll be in Section 31, Row 5Q and parking at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church.

townie tip: McBryde Village (the neighborhood near the Lutheran Church, on and around McBryde Dr.) has permit-free street-side parking. I don't know how much the church charges, but if you aren't tailgating there, you might as well park for free a block over. You can still take McBryde (or one of the side streets) over to Tom's Creek to shoot up to 460 and get out of town after the game.

I've heard of that tip, but never taken advantage of it. In addition to almost always tailgating, I can't stand the congestion on that portion of Price's Fork Road getting out of town. Parking in McBride Village would force me to go right onto Prices Fork Rd, which I have no desire to do. I always sneak out Toms Creek Road to 460 and jump back onto Prices Fork there. It seems like a roundabout way to go, but certainly feels a whole lot faster than sitting in the mess that is Prices Fork between campus and the 460 ramps.

Plus, the church only charges $10 to park and they let tailgaters use their restrooms. It's not a bad deal at all for those of us who can't or won't pony up the donation needed for a parking pass.

All fair points. Just so you know, McBryde runs from Price's fork all the way through the neighborhood up to Tom's Creek so you don't have to deal with Price's fork any more than you do at the Lutheran lot. You can also use any of the side streets (Kelsey, Newman, Watson) to cut from McBryde over to Tom's Creek.

Thanks for the tip. I did not know that. I always thought that neighborhood had only one entrance/exit.

Parking TBD. We have 7 passes spread across 4 lots, currently determining which lot to consolidate to and will be trading the others for that lot.

On that note, if anyone has a pass in Lot 8, 14, or 19 and is interested in selling or trading, holler.

They opened 19 back up?
