Sort of a boring interview, but Virginia Tech stole their logo? Bullshit.
They do highlight WVU upsetting #3 ranked VT in 2003, and then VT upsetting WVU in 2004.
These guys disrespect VT as a football program. This interview, starting at 33:05, reminds me of why I really want to see a VT win in September. VT needs to be the team that shows up with a chip on their shoulder.
Who has the Black Diamond Trophy? And who is going to have it on September 4th? This does have the makings of a decent rivalry.

I still maintain that this song is about Virginia. I think it's about west Virginia (as in western Virginia) before you get to Worst Virginia. Think about the references. The Shenandoah River: mostly in Virginia. Moonshine: moonshine capital of the world is/was Franklin County, Virginia. Miner's lady: plenty of mining in VA, not necessarily just a Worst Virginia thing.

It's funny because WVU fans could put out WHY WE HATE ________ videos for about 20 different teams. Their hatred for us is not unique. Hate is just a part of their inferiority complex culture that they love to cling to.

My theory on that would suggest that it's not really even VA's fault they feel that way. I grew up in WV and I don't know how many times I've had people from as close as NC not know that WV was its own state. It's ill-placed angst, but it does make you overdo the whole "we're not them" angle.
It's kinda like when TV commentators call VT "Virginia".
I will say that I never understood their love of "Country Roads" though for this reason. They really don't do themselves any favors with this issue by flaunting that song.

The standard practice for a long time in graph presentation was the largest bars to the left, supposedly to better show the differential, which after-all is the whole point of the statistical analysis to begin with...but I'm not sure if it remains the standard practice.

First guy goes full neer and says he hates VT because we got things we didn't earn, national media and ESPN tried to make us a blue blood and let us get better recruits when they have more all time wins, lead the series, and have won 3 major BCS bowls while we have only won one. He uses the bowls to then say that they must have the better football culture because they have 3 BCS bowl wins with 3 different culture while we are just tied to Beamer (he implies beamer heavily). The coal miner then turns into a salt miner over VT leaving the Big East for the ACC like we were better than them.
Second guy starts off by saying he didn't always hate Tech but eventually did when he felt people gave us more respect than WVU and "WVU is a better athletic program period." They want to really be us. First guy hijacks the video. Says that Morgantown is not in the middle of nowhere, calls Blacksburg a podunk town, says that's not hating, literally says "ours is bigger" in reference to stadiums. Says WVU's logo is way better and VT copied their logo. Says the ACC isn't good and only has 2. Says their first round draft picks are better than ours. They suck off Will Grier for a bit. Then says that because of their whole team they will win no matter what. There's some rambling. One guy talks about his anger management problems. He threw a sandwich at his friend's TV.
They then talk about their Napoleon complex when they are called Western Virginia and they hate that we are Virginia and not East Virignia. State history complaints. Wants to rename West Virginia "Vandalia" (Spelling?). Blames their inferiority complex on others instead of dealing with their issues. Don't understand what a Hokie is. Thinks it's stupid. Say we aren't great as an engineering school because our name is Virginia Polytechnic.
It's a circle jerk and if I went to a university where I only had to work at a 5th grade reading level I would have probably loved it.

#2 post aggressive, unpopular opinions and accumulate upvotes from people too timid to be as in your face, but not downvotes from people who disagree because we're not supposed to do that (the "Alum07" method)
Technically there is a third approach to getting lots of TL, but it only applies to players/former players/parents of players and then it's just a matter of posting whatever the hell you want (looking at you JReynolds6, hokiedokiepokie, and Kick17)

-Having 3 head coaches over a 6 year period isn't good.
-VT went to 6 BCS bowls, including a national championship game.
-VT already had 2 BCS appearances prior to WVU getting one. In the same time WVU went to 3, VT went to 4.

Wow...their level of irrationalism is on such a level that I can't even formulate a response other than "screw you WVU".
For their accusation of copying the logo, if we "copied" the logo, then I would think that WVU's legal team would have jumped into action to enforce both their copyright and trademark rights. Obviously, this has not happened, as they don't have a case. The only thing that is similar between the two logos is the V, but the V on their logo isn't even connected to anything.
As for them hating on the Commonwealth of Virginia, if they hate us so much, why don't they change their name? I mean, they blame us for things, but we can just as easily say that because they have "Virginia" in their state name that they make us look bad for all the shenanigans that goes on in WVa.
LOL at them saying that we aren't even that good at engineering. It's not like they are in any position to critique us on any aspect of education. I mean, for their own sake, they should not go anywhere near the topic of education. This almost makes me appreciate UVa fans in that we can actually have an intelligent debate with them.
Sure, I guess they can be upset that they have not gotten as much media attention as we have. However, I think the biggest difference is that VT won some big games and put together strings of highly ranked seasons while WVU won some big games and wasn't as consistent.
They can hate all they want, but I believe that most of the stuff they hate us for is on them, not us. If they are that much better than us, they need to prove it so that there is no doubt. That being said, I hope we run them out of FedEx field so that these guys can STFU.

The only thing I will give them is they won more BCS bowls than we did. I could argue that they got much better match ups but we definitely blew way too many of those games to even start that.
What they forget is in just about all of those seasons leading up to the move to the ACC, we were in the national championship talk during or at least before those seasons. We had Michael Vick, people tuned in to watch us play. Our home games were exciting, we were still the underdog people liked. Blocking punts and picking off more passes and sacking the QB more than anybody else in the nation. They think they are disrespected blah blah, but what did they do on a national scale during that time? Once they got things going with RichRod we still beat them. They wanted so bad for Pat White to be their Michael Vick. I remember on the messageboards back then they were saying White was better blah blah. Thats how out of touch they are. Pat White attempted 5 NFL passes and Vick was the #1 pick and played about 15 years. Pat White was a system QB plain and simple, nothing exciting or great about him. They blew their chance against Pitt in '07 or whenever it was. Not gonna get respect that way. They are relevant only to themselves, they are just another Big 12 team with no defense. And they arent Oklahoma or Texas or close.
I dont know how this game will turn out, I am guessing we are a bit of a favorite but we dont even know who is going to be playing QB. Grier can run the ball right? We always have problem with running QBs even though our D usually plays good early in the year.

WVU didn't get to a BCS bowl until after VT left the Big East. On top of that, the Big East never sent an at-large team to a BCS bowl. Not sure if that last part means much, other than WVU's only shot at BCS bowls came from winning their conference, and then being the hot potato of the selection process, as the Big East champ was usually the least desired team. (Although, to WVU's credit, they had good records in the BCS bowl years, and weren't always the last team picked.)

And a quick note on the "superior athletic program" argument, this past year we finished #40 in the final director's cup standings. WVU finished #45.

It's been illegal in Morgantown for a decade now. At one point they even made a town ordinance banning flammable furniture from being used outdoors (plastic, glass and metal only). Still didn't help much.
I hate West Virginia so much that I'd almost be willing to undergo a name change for our state just to remove any association. But then I realize that those unoriginal bastards are the ones that need to change. We were here first. We are better. Just go away, East Ohio.

Don't you put that evil on us. East Kentucky would be the most appropriate. The culture of Eastern KY and W VA are nearly indistinguishable.

They are so jealous of VT, when it was their traitor asses breaking rank during the Civil War and picking a SHIT-T name to call themselves.. Perhaps in true West "By God" Virginia fashion they should change their name to West Virginia Tech and someone may mistakenly give them some of the respect VT gets. These dudes are fucking salty.
West Virginia Tech is actually a thing.
