Publisher's note: mstrawther and BilldozerVT got fully dipped and brought the 🔥 🔥 🔥 again this year. Crank your volume to 11, press play, and then please hammer the share buttons below. Enjoy! — Joe
Has the offseason dragged on longer than usual? It sure feels like it.
Maybe that's because the Hokies open their season against West Virginia, a hated rival they haven't played since 2005. Maybe it has something to do with the uncertainty of which quarterback will trot onto FedExField against the 'Eers. Maybe it's because we have to wait until Sunday to watch the Hokies play.
While making this year's trailer — combing through highlights and film from 2016 — I realized it's because the football program is in capable hands. Last season we got a sneak preview of what might happen on the field when a tough, blue collar defense is paired with a high powered offense. It didn't disappoint. Excitement is certainly in the air over Tech's prospects for 2017, and beyond.
It's August and Virginia Tech football is around the corner. It's almost time to fire up your grills, get your coolers stocked, and tailgates planned. Although I can't speed up time, I can offer you this: The 2017 Virginia Tech Football Trailer.

We'll I didn't need to do anything productive today anyway.
Fantastic as always BillDozer and MStrawther
Superb as always.
This is not hype, but planned reality. CJF and Bud will make it so. Thanks Coaches.
GO HOKIES
Just had to post this while I'm driving the kids to preschool didn't ya.
Can we just make the Billdozer trailer drop date the official beginning of football season? So much for trying to get work done today. Awesome job!
I'm sending TKP the bill for the hole in my wall
Side note. Our own personal Hokie Moutain, is no longer on the S&C conditioning staff.
What? When did that happen?
Not sure just know he isn't listed and they announced a new hire last week.
But who will scare them into shape?
Seriously though, it looks like Hilgart is doing just fine.
#waffles are saying since working under Hilgart, he had grown to a size not measurable by society's units of measure.
Nick Acree took a position as Men's Multisports Chaplain with Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Liberty University starting July 1. Announced May 30 on his Facebook.
I was gonna make a comment but I'm not starting another mile long thread revolving around LU
He is a minister?
Well if anyone could put the fear of God into self absorbed college students, it'd be him.
Being a graduate from LU, I chuckled at this cause of how true it is.
To be fair, it's not just LU. I worked with ministries at multiple universities and most college students fit the bill, especially the athletes.
Son I need you to confess
Yep I took Timmy's penny in 1st grade.
Each semester at LU they have (I'm assuming they still have it) an event called coffee house, part of which is student submitted videos. At the time Rojas was our leading tackler and some of the guys on his dorm made the videos as a parody of/tribute to the Terry Tate: Office Linebacker commercials.
Some of the other videos included:
LUPD-a parody of COPS that followed the Campus Police writing parking tickets, solving minor crimes like cups stolen from the dining hall, and usually ending with an unsuccessful attempt to take down a well known figure from the college.
World's Most Exciting University-parody of The End of the World Flash Cartoon.
But those are some of the actual rules and student roles there?
Nick Acree confirmed for first convo.
He was very involved with Tech FCA while in Blacksburg. For all the intensity he can project the dude is one of the most genuine and nicest people I've ever crossed paths with. It's not entirely uncommon for Tech student athletes involved in FCA to be drawn to/feel called to sports ministry once they're done with school.
So I just noticed this, I assume that is a tank top that is hanging down on the sides of his shorts.... that looks like he just completely ripped the hell out of right before the water purge.
May or may not have allegedly started jumping up and down in my cubicle...
boner engaged
Amazing.
The pile of work I have to do today...

Anyone know a good construction company? I have a wall to replace at work that I just ran through
Originally I was like
But now I'm like
Got home watched three times forgot I needed to make oldest breakfast, told her to watch she wouldn't need food anymore.
Tried that, didn't work. My kids aren't fully dipped yet.
You have work to do. I am teaching my grandson to start jumpin' when I play Enter Sandman, and he loves it. (Yes, both his parents are HOKIES).
I was credited as 'teaching him the finer points in life' by my daughter-in-law.
They both know the appropriate response to "LET'S GO..." so there's at least a foundation there.
The harder part will be to keep them on a good path. They've grown up surrounded by Bulldog and Tarheel influence for the entirety of their young lives.
This thread made my day before I got home to watch the trailer. EPIC meming.
Hot damn, I'm so ready
Oh, damn.
Everyone gets testosterone shots today.
I just peed a little.
...that's not pee my friend..

Great job fellers

Can't contain the Hype.
Ouch!
Excellent work as always.
Damn on the same day this drops too!

Good stuff Skutt! I know you're around here somewhere.
Thank you! Wasn't really planning on making one and was just going to focus on my WVU video, but Josh Parcell is launching his new website (Check it out, seriously) and he asked me to make one!
His project is going to be really awesome -- 2 to 3 podcasts per week, and his opening one is going to be packed with Hokie talent. Really, go give it a look if you've got the time.
I would create a thread for your video and his website. Your vid deserves it!
I'm out giving tours all day without a lot of wifi, but if somebody here wants to create a thread, feel free!
I didn't create one earlier this morning cause Dozer had his coming out officially through TKP nd my video is through another website.

I, too, am a little tired of hearing about how good everybody else is. That changes on Labor Day Eve.
I would like to be the old guy in the room and ask what the song used in the video is.

We all thank you for not going with Fall Out Boy :-P
Gonna need a new one of these, but it's all I could find in the last 30 seconds...
Damn took me a second til I saw the pancakes
This is great, but even with Fuente as the conductor I still fill that we need the crazy frank face carrying the train.
Didn't have time to put together a new one this season sadly.
On a related note, I work with a UNC grad who told me today that he recently realized that whenever he hears Enter Sandman, he wants to watch VT football. And he's ok with that because UNC sucks (his words).
Got em.
I'm glad I'm not the only one. Every time Enter Sandman plays on 105.3 The Bear, I silently ask myself "Damn, how did I forget there's a football game today?". Then I'm sad the rest of the drive because there is no football.
Has the hype train left the station yet? Because I have a feeling a lot of people are going to want to board.
TechSideLine hates the video, so you know its good
How the hell do you carry a conversation over there when you have to click to a new page just t read a new comment.
gosh, it's almost as bad as leSabre. At least the color scheme is better and they talk about a better team.
Just found out that notifications for TSL show up on leSabre and vice versa. Reason #548 why TKP is better than TSL
Even though I know I'm not, the format makes me feel like I'm on LeScissor.
Both are hosted by SportsWar, so they're pretty much the same
Will Stewart (TSL owner) owns SportsWar, so its not incorrect to say that TheSabre is a subsidiary of TSL
So in the Sportswar world, Tech owns UVA? Seems appropriate.
I remember seeing it (TSL) a little bit, I think while I was still in school, and being so turned off by the format that I wasn't willing to click 1895021545898 times to follow a thread. So I totally lost interest and basically forgot about it until I found here and had to click through to see some references.
We should all acknowledge how lucky we are to have TKP, where we can talk HOKIES without making our eyes bleed. /shameless plug for TKPC.
What's funny is that recently a user complained about the format on leSabre and the mod responded with "REddit is the most popular site on the internet so we can't be all wrong"
leSabre, I surfed on Reddit. I knew Reddit back when it was just a less popular version of slash dot. Reddit was a long time addiction of mine. leSabre, you're no Reddit.
I hate the format. One "discussion" can take up a whole page.
I remember when they changed to a modern format (like this one) and most of the users shit their pants.
One guy disliked it while everyone else disagreed with him in this link.
I know what the mindset feels like from when I was like 16, but these days I just can't understand the point of being so negative about something that someone put their own time and effort into. Guess I'm just getting old.
I'm with this guy...
This is how fake news is made. We are better than this.
1 negative comment and 9 positive comments (currently).
The comment itself has a current +7 rating, means even after the people disagreed, more people don't like the video over there than like it. They're just not replying in kind
well, your choices are upvote or abstain. Maybe if they had a real comment rating system, it would be negative?
lol I forgot about that
Oh yeah, that's right, they originally did have a downvote, but they got rid of it, because (and I kid you not) they didn't want to make certain posters feel like they were being singled out.
So, what you're trying to say is that Arnie has relocated to a sportswar site?
They got rid of it (IMO) because that community has no idea how to properly wield a downvote. It became used as "I disagree with this sentiment" and not as "I think this post should not be on the board."
13 people commented on the thread, of whom 1 disliked it and 2 others offered a mixture of praise and criticism for the style. That equals "TSL Hates it"? Your day job is writing clickbait headlines for websites that promote "10 Easy Tricks for Getting in the Best Shape of Your Life! Gym Owners Hate Us. You Won't Believe #8!" isn't it? Or are you really Will Stewart, getting creative about increasing page hits?
Actually I'm kinda surprised to see as much love over there as I do. VTimHokie85 is kinda their resident video guy and his trailer videos are (No disrespect to the 'Dozer at all. I love his work as well.) the best I think I've seen for any website or team. You kind of expect a certain degree of tribalism, where 'my guy' is always better than 'their guy'.
Welcome to the interwebs! Have some Cake and hang out for awhile.
uh... where is the hate?
even the linked comment isn't hate. He is just stating his opinion.
One person posted about how he didn't think it was Billdozer's best work, and he was disagreed with by lots of other people. And that means TSL hates it? I don't really understand the angst about TSL over here. Sure its a different website design, but people over there love VT as much as over here.
The site layout is clunky and antiquated. Each comment is opened on a page of it's own, and it's harder to follow a conversation because of it. And apparently when the site tried to join the 21st century, there was some kind of user revolt, and the site switched back.
We don't hate the people or content from TSL, we mostly just like to make fun of the layout and the fact that it is almost identical to LaSabwa save for the color scheme.
That hit on the Duke QB at 2:00 looks awfully painful in slowmo. Can we have 30 or 40 more this season please?
Wanna watch this at work... younger brother wants to wait until we're both off of work to watch it together... I have never been so conflicted...
Watch it now. You'll still be just as excited later.
It's just as good the second time.
From personal experience.
And the third.
And the fourth.
And the fifth.
And the sixth.
And...
I've watched this multiple times already. Still as good as the first.
I watched it on I-66 East this morning.
I was about to ask if you were a wizard, but then I remembered from my trips up to NoVA that traffic on I-66 doesn't move. At all.
Wizard no. Wizard King, possible.
Let's Go!!!!!!!
SOOO awesome!
THANK YOU DOZER!
Rein it in there, Bubba...
