Averages over $6M per year
Dabo making almost double what Fuente is right now. The price of poker keeps going up. #Hokies https://t.co/RKUB7mv54fβ Andy Bitter (@AndyBitterVT) August 25, 2017

Thank God, I love fish tacos.
haha...damn auto correct.
He is making almost as much per year as the Hokies ENTIRE football coaching staff.
Winning national championships has consequences.
Wrong coach, sorry.
I wonder if there has been some behind the scenes rumblings of Saban retiring in the next decade and Clemson is locking down Dabo with a monster contract to make the buyout ridiculous.
I don't doubt this at all
I think that Saban's contract ends the same year as Dabo's new one.
Do you really think a $6M buyout will discourage Alabama if they want him? That is like one years salary.
oh im not saying itll stop them but if im clemson i drain every penny from them when they try
They've got too much money, and have to spend it on something.
They've already got laser tag.
So whenever I see salaries like this I can't help but to break down what they make over shorter periods of time.* So currently Dabo is making approximately...
Monthly: $500,000
Weekly: $115,000
Daily: $16,500
So what would you do with $16,500 a day?
*Disclaimer: I understand he isn't pulling in exactly that figure in cash. It's still interesting to break down though.
Beat me to it. Take your leg, you magnificent bastard.
You can't help but read it in his voice too.
It'll take him about 3 1/2 days to earn the same as the median US household will (2015 numbers). It will take him about 2 1/3 months to earn the same as the average of the top 1% of American earners (2013 numbers).
Give Whit a call and negotiate how much it would cost to bring back Stick It In.
Well deserved.
Jesus, reading the fine print from his last increase. IPTAY covers all but the base of 245,000 and his bonuses the entire rest over 5 millions is paid by donors to IPTAY. Meanwhile VT can't even cover scholarship cost with donor money. The next time anyone asks me why Tech can't be Clemson and then say they don't want to join the Hokie Club I might lose it.
Why can't Tech be Clemson?
Because the Hokie Club doesn't dole out enough benefits, obv.
You missed the KEY second part.
Because until recently VT has failed to offer any sort of early cheaper buy in for students and recent graduates like Clemson has been doing for quite a while.
They have done both of those now for close to 3 years and yet we LOST 2,000 members from last year. There is no reason for a person with the financial ability to join the Hokie Club not doing so at this point. Hell even my reason for future pulling of donation is not based on on field play etc it's solely because of an unsafe administration at another school. But for people to not even join in the first place? No sense if they are also complaining about VT facilities, coaches, staff or wins.
Idk maybe we shouldn't play Liberty after all, that'll be the key
Clemson's IPTAY Membership Benefits
VS
Virginia Tech's Hokie Club Membership

A lot of similarities.
yup, big difference is Clemson started this process and the new seating process back in 2008 and never looked back..
And they didn't get the pushback VT did when they did it.
Can I set up monthly recurring payments through the Hokie Club or is it a manual process for each donation?
Edit: I actually see how to do that now. Sweet.
you have to tie your donation around a carrier pigeon's ankle. They highly recommend that you round your donation to the nearest $20 increment to reduce weight. Coins are strongly discouraged. /s
something something cfb arms race something something join the fucking hokie club. Clemson gave us the blueprint. We're behind, we gotta pony up the cash. Whit's trying, and to my eyes doing the right thing.
Newsletter they sent out regarding the changes and new Seat Charge below. Wonder what this compares to VT's updated list?
2008 IPTAY
Better than paying Charlie Weiss 19 million to not coach anymore.

Good finds Jugs, does a certain college you know well do anything special or unique for its boosters?
No beef here, he earned that sh!t
VT has already dropped the ball on this issue, and it happened some time ago. As mentioned above, Clemson has been doing this to snag current students and graduates for some time.
My wife and I make a healthy 6 figure household income. I live in AZ, and there is at this point in time literally no benefit to me to become a Hokie Club member. 'Winning football games", as much as I do enjoy watching it, offers more or less no intrinsic value to me. Because the game is over early here on a Saturday and I move on with my life pretty quickly.
Helping non football athletes compete, give educations to kids, to grow the program for future Hokies, get priority seating for West Coast future games like Arizona. When non football teams come through that area do you go watch them play?
