It's been 12 long years since the Black Diamond Trophy has been up for grabs. I grew up around Virginia Tech football, and while I'm just now hitting 20-years-old, I know the type of disdain and hate these two teams and fanbases have for each other.
I've been slowly working on this trailer since May, considering different concepts and putting little pieces together. This month, I kicked it into high gear and put my vision together. I worked with Joe, and he added BilldozerVT as a collaborator down the final stretch, and all of sudden we were really in business.
So here it is. Joe, Bill, and I present to you guys, on the first official day of game week, the Virginia Tech-West Virginia trailer. Hit play, and get your mind right for some serious, good, old-fashioned hate.

Amen. I was in the stands. The sound and shear visciousness of the hit was so amazing it took me a minute to realize we scored. I remember thinking how crazy it was that the crowd and team reacted to that hit more than the touchdown.
Andre Davis' 3rd quarter was awesome, though.
And I love that the State Trooper even gave Ward some love on the walk back to the sideline!
You are correct; the memory in my head is in crystal clear quality, with the sound of the hit ingrained forever, with the view from my seat in Lane. The ESPN video is no where near as good.
The ESPN view does still bring back a great memory.

The toss from vick is one of the best throws I've ever seen. 60 yards in the air, drops it right into davis' hands in perfect stride.
I was sitting here thinking the same. What made Vick amazing (in terms of his passing) was how effortlessly he could flick his wrist and launch the ball 60-70 yards. I've never seen anything like it (before that or since).
He didn't just beat the corner with the throw, or make davis adjust. He just ran past the guy and the ball magically appeared. It could have been aqib talib or darelle revis or champ bailey or ty law or deion sanders and it wouldn't have mattered. Just flicked the wrist and touchdown.
Has both the angle from 07's video and the reverse angle from behind Davis. You can see a little more of the hit from the reverse angle.
It was in one of the early drafts, but it just didn't work when we were putting together the final.
I don't know Wayne Ward from Adam but TKP needs to have an in-depth interview with Wayne about this. 30 for 30 style.
Plainly, I've long been a believer that this community produces the best college football videos that exist. The game previews are good enough to be picked up by ESPN. With Skutt and BillDozer teaming up, I've now seen the full fruition of the video production position and I think it is worth investing in.

As much as I love this video, I am nervous about this game. FedEx is all bad for me. Hopefully, Fuente wins big and erases some bad memories and we put the cousins in the dirt for awhile.
