1st football weekend has arrived, wow!
I've always enjoyed the Half Wits and Wagers series, and the 1st installment this season did not disappoint. But, I thought it would be fun to propose some additional lines that are more defensively-oriented, since that is our strength.
Over/under 2 picks by Tech defenders: I'll take the over, and I'll double down and say either Stroman or Alexander gets 2.
Over/under 5 tackles for loss by Tech defenders: I'm going to go conservative on this one and take the under.
Over/under 4 sacks by Tech defenders: I've gotta take the over here with WV so pass-happy. "Mr Grier, meet Mr. Settle and Mr. Mihota. They're looking forward to seeing you again, and soon!"
Over/under 1.5 forced fumbles by the Hokies: I've gotta go over, I just gotta, because of the preceding line and the following one both play directly into this stat.
Over/under 1.5 Defensive & special teams scores by the Hokies: Again, I've gotta take the over. Remember who our defensive coordinator is? That Foster guy? Yeah, that's him and he's got a whole offseason of pent-up frustration not seeing his boys take whacks at a real opponent. Also, I saw Mr. Stroman, wearing the 25 jersey, run back a punt for a TD against ECU last season. With Shegog wearing the jersey for this game, I've got to think he's going to do something special!
Over/under 2.5 Gronk-like moments from Dalton Keene: OK, this is not defensive, at all, but after reading French's description of our true freshman tight end as a bigger, taller Sam Rogers, you've gotta love this guy's potential. My mind immediately went to Rob Gronkowski. His physical stats are remarkably similar to Keene's, actually. You've seen Gronk highlight reels, right, breaking tackles on his way to paydirt, stiff arming little cornerbacks in a manner that seems almost unfair to the defense. That's him. So, in complete pre first game hype train mode, I'm going to take the over on this one. (I'm retaining some measure of caution by not predicting how many times Keene will score.)
OK, TKP'ers, I'm anxious to see your comments.

Grier is good, I'll give it to him but..I think we will get two picks off deflected/batted balls.
Over 5 tackles for loss. WVU line won't be able to handle us.
Under 4 Sacks. He has a quick release.
Over on the fumbles. We had fumblitis last year, time for the football Gods to repay us.
Under on the defensive/ST touchdowns because #25 won't be returning punts, may get one
defensive TD tho.
Over on the Gronk-like, or it's what I hope.
Good point!
Over on everything, let 'em roll and bet everything on the overs!
Lol if you are right then we should absolutely dominate. Oh and technically for one's like over/under for interceptions you would use a half number like 1.5.
1.5 interceptions? PUSH.
Watching Texas vs Maryland, VT needs to avoid:
TURNOVERS, and
leaving receivers WIDE OPEN.
