Youtubers RVK AAM are back and they review the WVU game. There probably has never been a video I enjoyed watching more than this, especially after they talked all that crap in one of their previous videos

These guys are a couple of morons. First the dude called Turner Gill "Ron Turner" twice.
And then he threw a fit about the Big XII being weak and complained that an undefeated Oklahoma won't get into the CFP if Clemson, Bama, USC, and Ohio State are all undefeated as well. Oklahoma and Ohio State play each other in two days... I'm no expert but I doubt they both go undefeated this year.
And they said Liberty is FCS...
I don't think they are fully FBS until 2019.
FCS this year, transitional year into FBS in 2018, full fledged FBS in 2019
It was 20 minutes into the show before they even mentioned their own team!
Would you mention them if you were fans of their team?
The show was way better before that too
Didn't one of them also say Vandalia is a beautiful name? I rest my case
~Mama Onion
Edit - Wait, that's Vidalia. Abandon Joke.
Made it through 14 minutes. There is no direction on the show and all they do is interrupt each other.
Welcome to the 2017 West Virginia.
I made it through 9 minutes. So very annoying.
Not having seen the show, your description makes it sound very similar to the majority of non-live-sports content shown on ESPN these days.
They don't mention the game until like 25 minutes in after they finish talking to their guest
Trying to get through the clustereffingtrainweck of this podcast, but I think they start talking about VT around 16:00.
Edit: Check that, 26:10.
Edit 2: Not bad once they got that guy off the phone. Decent and funny analysis.
I actually listened to their post game review (please dont run me out of town)
It's actually...not that bad. They tip their hats to VT for the win, I disagreed with the guy on the right that WVU's ceiling is higher than ours, but that's an opinion. They went out of their way to say that the refs were NOT to blame for the loss, they mentioned the blown coverages, the disparity in punting yards, the disparity in average field position. They give credit to VT for not giving up turnovers. They gave credit to our staff for getting our offense ready for the 3-3-5 defense...overall It didnt burn my ears to listen to it once I actually got to the game review itself
Yeah the two guys on camera seemed like relatively reasonable fans. Guy on the right even gave Enter Sandman some props. The guy they talk to throughout off screen is a bit more of a hater, but still not that bad.
I had to drop it with about 5 min left. I was expecting much worse. They remind me of Miami fans, but as you say, they did give VT credit for being better prepared and the better team when the game was played.
I have zero idea how the dude on the right rationalizes that they have a higher ceiling. VT won with 1 experienced WR and a Frosh QB. After Q1, Grier won't get better than he was in this game. I guess their WR's might improve a bit, but their WR's made some very good plays, so I don't think that it will be by much.
In addition, they may never see another game where their OL will be allowed to hold, at the level that they were able to hold, in this game.
WVU is a decent team and has a chance to win the B12, if the chips fall in a beneficial way (though I think the two okie qb's will light them up, so not likely).
When speaking to the higher ceiling, he talked more about WVU's defense more than the offense, saying the wvu defense shouldnt have those communication breakdowns in the middle of the season. I do disagree with him and I believe VT's ceiling is higher, but I grant him that that is based purely on opinion/projection so I'm not gonna hate him for it.
Playcalling may also adjust, I believe they're right in that WVU shouldve ran the ball more, especially once our Dline started to get tired. A 6.3 yard average? I'm not sure what the average wouldve been once you take out the 46 and 17 yard runs, but probably still above 5. I tbh expected them to run a lot more given the reputation of our secondary and how inexperienced their QB/WRs were.
As for Oklahoma, I dont know a single thing about their team. Or did you mean the two Okie teams as in Oklahoma and Ok state?
From French's film review, I'm not sure that their D issues were "communication". From my read of his review, they were consistently overplaying what they believed were our tendencies. If it was communication issues that caused the issues on D (e.g., Cam's TD and JJ's long run), then French wouldn't have been able to show how they over played prior snaps and how it lead to them getting burned later. We've seen other teams do this in the past and we weren't able to burn them for it. On Sunday, they got burned.
I didn't say that they couldn't improve play calling and couldn't have done better on Sunday. I was simply saying that I don't see some huge improvement that will happen, that would lead them to conclude that WVU's ceiling is higher than VT's.
By "two okie qb's", I meant Mayfield (Okie U) and Rudolph (Okie St).
I did see French's review, I agreed with French on the JJ run. My question for the Cam TD would be what took the Safety so long to cover? To me that's both an overplay mistake on the two corners and the Safety not backing them up. I'd have to see the play again, maybe they were doing some sort of cover 0 or the Safety was leaning toward the other side already. So maybe not a communication issue but a growth issue, not falling for the offensive eye candy as easily?
Mayfield looked bad in his opener I remember reading, I mean come on how can you have -8 yards rushing? disgraceful. They should put the backup, get him ready since he's probably got a better shot at the Heisman than Mayfield.
Quite possible, but it's funny how some players aren't capable of that kind of "growth". Communication can be easy to fix. Over playing reads (easily falling for offensive eye candy) may not be so easy, because now players have to think, instead of react.
LOL, you forgot the '/s'. Mayfield was 19 of 20, with a 282 passer rating and 94.5 adj QBR. He couldn't have been much better without approaching 20 of 20 with 20 tds. Yeah, I think that he'll light them up. Oh, and Mason Rudolph was as good (slightly lower comp % and 20 of 24, but more TD's and yards).
Was going to comment basically the exact same thing. (Thanks for saving me some time!) Once you get past the guest callers, their review is actually very reasonable (completely unlike their "Why we have VT" preview).
Add to your list that they gave us credit for some really good offensive play calls (well-executed misdirection).
I was pretty surprised. The podcast itself is a bit of a mess, and they had some (self admitted) homers as guests.
But they did give credit where it was due and were not overly salty about it. They gave the VT staff a lot of credit for having Jackson ready to play.
Early in the podcast and running through the Big 12 scores, I had an honest laugh regarding the comments on Baylor losing to Liberty. And they are right, Texas sucks and has sucked for awhile now.
The level/detail of their analysis vs. the analysis provided by TKP is so drastically different. Makes me grateful we have TKP.
These folks admit to not having watched film...openly admit they are unprepared for their show.
Yeah the podcast is pretty much a train wreck but they were fair.
And they hate ECU for some reason also
Can't fault them there, who doesn't hate ECU?
this makes perfect sense, actually. ECU is WVU, but within easy driving distance of a beach. Pure, good-old-fashion jealousy.
I think they just do a "why we hate (insert next opponent)" video.
I was on some site recently that does a "hating on (coach of next opponent)" segment...now where was that?...
No You Don't

I don't need one but I will take one.
