Military Appreciation Day Will Be Meaningful To J.R. Collins

Awesome tidbit from the Fighting Gobbler:

This Saturday Virginia Tech will be honoring all of those who have served our country, or are currently doing so. It will be Military Appreciation Day, and the team is wearing special orange camo jerseys. While this day is very meaningful to everyone in the program, it will be extra special for J.R. Collins.

This will be a very special day for J.R. Collins since his family is heavily involved in the Military. Both his father and sister are currently in the Army Reserves. His sister is now in Germany serving the country. As for his father, he has served two tours in Iraq. This will obviously be an emotional day for Collins. You can imagine that he will be playing with great intensity Saturday, and look to have a huge game.

The defensive end will look to build on his impressive start to his season. In the season opener against Alabama, Collins recored three tackles. Against Western Carolina he had a sack, and 5 tackles. In the last game against ECU the Senior had two more sacks and 5 tackles. Collins has been terrific for the Hokies in his final season and will look to keep it up. With the magnitude of Saturdays game, and his momentum he already has, J.R. Collins should shine.
