Hokie alum Aaron Rouse, was named the game's MVP after picking off 3 passes. Rouse played Rover for VT from 2003-2006 and spent a few years in the NFL afterwards. For those of you who aren't familiar with Rouse, check out the links below.
His professional story is a good one, but his personal story is pretty amazing. I always liked how he played on the field and he was a really good guy off the field. He overcame a lot to get where he is and is someone VT fans should be proud of. He's one of my favorites.

Giants
I was hoping Rouse would be a longterm player for the (my) Giants when they signed him in '09, but he only lasted the one season and played sparingly. He had a lot of potential too, surprised he didn't have a more successful NFL career.
Thanks for posting this, it's always good to keep up with the former players.
I hope his UFL performance gets him another look from NFL scouts. No idea how likely that is, but it would be great to see him get another shot in the league.
In person
I was actually there for that game, surprisingly. My folks had extra tickets so i thought i'd be a good son, so my wife and I tagged along. UFL is pretty much like minor league baseball, you don't really get into the game much but just hang out while somewhat paying attention to the field. It was awesome to recognize Rouse though. Interesting to note that Marty Schottenheimer is the head coach and this is his first ever championship.
I'll still never forget...
How hard of a hitter he was! I remember back in '06 in a road game against UNC he basically knocked their QB right out with a brutal helmet-to-helmet hit. I remember thinking it was well worth the 15 yard penalty.
