Cadets will be collecting donations for the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Virginia, at all gates before kickoff. Since 2001, the Corps has collected more than $200,000 for the memorial and is the largest, non-corporate sponsor of the D-Day memorial.

Its actually a really nice and well done place too, they take the freshman class there each fall. Its in Bedford because they had a company of the VA National Guard drawn from the town and surrounding area that got badly decimated in the landings making it the town to suffer the highest per capita loss of sons in Normandy.

Nicely explained, DBHT14. I'd give you a leg if I could. My parents live about 15 minutes from the D-Day Memorial; it really is a well done place. We (in the surrounding area) take it for granted living so close, but it draws people from all over the world. Just last year, my company brought about 25 of our French employees in town from Cherbourg (near Normandy) to the Memorial and they were blown away. Love that the Corps of Cadets do this. Ut Prosim in action!

I'm not sure, I haven't been in years. It looks like they were going to "temporarily relocate" it. That's the latest information I could find online anyway.
My dream flyover is for Lane to go silent. Suddenly there is a cackling voice over the PA. "Permission to Buzz the tower sir?" The whole student section responds with a resounding "permission granted." On command, Buzz Williams comes rocketing over Cassell, orange and maroon vapor trail in tow, and speeds over Hokievision. He breaks the sound barrier exactly as he reaches midfield and then vanishes into the distance

My dream is to have a Chinook helicopter fly into the stadium, drop off Metallica at the 50, they play Enter Sandman, the crowd goes insane, the Chinook comes back and picks them up and leaves.
How do I tell ESPN and Metallica this needs to happen for the Clemson game?

Ok, I did some rough calculations. Considering a 2:00 kick off; they can leave Langley @ 1:50ish and be right on time. I'll listen for the sonic boom over Richmond.
This is pretty cool considering that LOLUVA usually gets a drive by from a Prius.

I remember during the 2008 Tech bowl (Good guys won 20-17) at Lane when 2 F18's buzzed over just before kick off. During Half time the two pilots had made their way into Lane Stadium and were on the field. They both unzipped their Pilots get-ups and revealed a VT shirt and a GT shirt. they were both Alums and the crowd went wild for them. Always remember that

Wow, what a weird story. Stalin had nothing to do with D-Day.
Military Appreciation Day!
Dammit I'm gonna miss it!!
I think flyovers are a must!!!
Ok, everyone at the game needs to post pictures.
The fly overs always give me goosebumps and makes the hair on my head stand up. Nothing like being in Lane with everyone with that energy.
F22 is nice I guess but its still not my dream flyover: 100s and 100s of drones that drop off Chick-Fil-A sandwiches to lucky fans.

You payin?
Very cool.
Nothing is as awesome as a B-52.
.
.
Except 2 B-52s!
How about 4?
Saw them in concert a few years ago. They were awesome!
I prefer the scream of jet engines on gameday though.
