I believe the uniform is announced on Wednesdays, so what are we thinking it'll be?
It is orange effect, so I'm thinking we'll be wearing the orange helmets that we wore vs. ECU and GT last year. I'm a big fan of them.
I believe some here have posted that the rumor is ALL orange (not a fan). Any new info?

I'm hella superstitious, and even though I sometimes say the same things and always enjoy AME because of historical success in AME, there's a point where I can look at it from the outside and realize uniform color means nothing towards the outcome of the game.
i seem to remember a thursday night game against Miami in recent history where we wore AME and almost broke our "not shut out at home" streak...

Actually, we've never worn all orange. We have worn orange jerseys and pants, but wore maroon helmets (1994 we only had one helmet).

I don't think there is hate for it, it is just that it looks best when used in trim or small amounts. AOE would be a bit overwhelming. I also think the orange used in uniforms is never really a burnt orange and always seems too citrus orangey. I loved the chrome orange helmets from the Ohio State game and regret not buying one in the auction.

I am not in support of AOE or anything, but where is it slated that this isnt for the the team as well? They went all out for the Maroon Effect, why would this exclude them?

I loved the orange helmets with the maroon jerseys and pants we wore against OSU in 2015, but thought it'd look so sick with the orange and white cleats. It'd give it a nice little pop that the black cleats don't provide. That'd be the perfect, crisp way to don the orange effect IMO.

I've never understood why people get so hyped up about uniforms (he types after clicking on and reading this week's entire uniform thread).
Because if we wear some whacky, off the wall crap like the Boise game with black unis with weird robot like design in the numbers, we lose. It's science.

It's because it's fun to talk about and discuss ideas and opinions on a variety of different topics - this being one of them. We're all fans here and this is a fan forum. Some people care about what we wear on game day, some people don't. There's no right or wrong here. I don't think it's any different than being hyped up over anything else from a fan's perspective.

I like a new shiny lid and the old logos and a new uni/color combo occasionally and I don't want to sound like the "get off my lawn" guy, but....
1. Orange is an accent color albeit important since our color combination is the only one among colleges.
2. When teams come into our house, we want them to see the unis they've watched on TV and think "Oh, hell".
3. A new uni once a year is okay against the D 1A or whatever they call them now.
4. The big boys typically wear the brand, i.e., the traditional unis....see ALA, OSU, USC, Texas, Mich, GA, LSU, etc.
5. MAROON separates us from the other orange teams such as Clemson and Syracuse, and more importantly separates us from other schools that have orange as an accent color such as miami and most importantly the boohoos.
6. When highlights flash accross the TV, our traditional, distinctive unis are more easily recognized.
7. No one had more unis and combinations than Oregon and really began all this and their time has come and gone.
I'm tired now and need a nap.

This weeks is a slight improvement on the Belk Bowl lid, to me. I like the orange middle stripe better with an orange VT as opposed to this orange stripe with a maroon VT.

They look like Clemson in the sense that they are orange without shoulder stripes. But Clemson doesn't have a word mark above the numbers, they have a different number font, and they have have their paw print logo on the
shoulder tops.

I wish the HOKIES was ringed in maroon like the numbers. And I wish the font wasn't so... "futuristic"? Looks like it'll need a refresh in about 3 years. The chisel-tip bevel thing on the H and the E reminds me of Star Trek or something...

You're about a year late on that discussion. It's the same athletic font we've been using since last year.
Believe me, I'm not late on this discussion. I've disliked it since the day it rolled out. It's just the first time it's shown up on the front of our football jerseys.
