There's probably an older-sounding, more out-of-touch way of explaining this, but:
The woman (a "trap queen") in the gif is "twerking" (google it & enjoy your "research"), which is a style of dancing often employed while dancing to "trap", a sub-genre of hip-hop/rap that came up in the south over the last 10 years (Jeezy, Migos, Gucci Mane, T.I., others) but has its origins in late 90s/early 00s Atlanta (artists like Outkast, Goodie Mob etc).
Looking forward to hearing how much this did or did not help.
Hahahaha that's hilarious. I had never heard the terms "trap music" or "trap queen". Perhaps I'm just old lol. I'll admit rap isn't my thing so I guess I can understand why a relatively obscure sub-genre was unknown to me.

I tried doing it with the Orange lid from the OSU game and the one for this weekend, and neither seemed to work well imo. I think what makes the look work is that orange and maroon are well used throughout the jersey as accents, then having the helmet be dominant orange just throws me. Id say keep the helmet as is, (INSERT STEPHAN A. SMITH)Howeva, one weird change maybe do the tri-color helmet but instead of white main body do black just to change it up.

Not gonna lie, these are one of my favorite helmets. The light shines so nicely off of them

I thought the ones vs Ohio State were a little darker/more metallic, but it could just be my memory and the fact that it actually was darker outside. Those looked awesome.
I remember Clark Ruhland saying last year that they were a slightly different orange than the year before.
Seems like every year our orange is just a little bit different than the last.
One's from OSU had an orange VT logo whereas last year's had a white VT logo... not sure which they'll be tomorrow since it's not clear in the reveal.
The top left corner of the Instagram post shows the white VT one.

I wish our maroon jerseys would follow the same templates as the orange ones we wore last week (i.e. no shoulders stripes with "Hokies" written above the number on the front).

Duke is wearing the same uniforms they wore during their 2015 trip to Lane. I think our uniform combo will look better with this on the other side of the ball than with GT's gold/white/white last year.
