So BC should be up by three scores at this point. That Akers kid is really really good.
More FSU tears at article below. Delicious!
https://floridastate.247sports.com/Bolt/5-quick-takeaways-from-Florida-S...
Who IS this Boston College team
Same team VT played.
Yep people just didn't get it.
That's what I was telling you before
Quality win baby
What the fuck is this in stadium music when BC is on offense!? So loud and obnoxious
That samuels from FSU tackles TEs as well as Quinn blanding
I'm sure we've talked about this, but if FSU loses tonight, there's a good chance they don't make a bowl for the first time in 35 years.
Guess who is second on that bowl streak list?
Pssstttt Tech is already first on the official list. But now we can hope FSU Twitter will stop complaining about it every time.
Is it me or does jimbo under pressure?
WTF is Mack Brown's tie? Hideous
WTF is Mack Brown
's tiestill calling games for? HideousI got you
So few observations, FSU players have given up. Mack Brown and Tommy Tuberville are competing for worst TV football announcer for the year.
Weird question do former coaches suffer from this? Maybe that's a small sample size but its at least evident when they talk their delivery be it color or play by play just falls flat.
"year"?
How about ever. They are Rick Sutcliff bad. I'd rather listen to Dick Vitale and that idiot makes my ears bleed.
So...FSU sucks.
via GIPHY
FSU has been a top recruiting team for years, how is losing the QB hurting them so badly all over the field?
French making some interesting points on DL from 575, on twitter. Nnadi and Sweat don't seem to be doing too much in this game. Walker was far more impressive vs BC.
edit: should say '757'. I apologize if I hurt any little feelings (and clearly, I did). It was in no way intentional.
The "I'm going to be clever and put 575 instead of 757" is obnoxious.
actually, that wasn't clever at all. It was simply a typo, but thanks for assuming the worst of my comment.
is this a thing kids do these days?
lol, even if it were, I'm vastly closer to retirement age, than being called a "kid". I drive I-575 every day, so that number sticks in my head, more than 757.
Haha I get that, not trying to accuse or anything. Just trying to stay hip to the lingo so I know what to tweet at recruits when I'm drunk and angry
Yeah, I figured as much. Just offering clarification in case my assumption was wrong.
Jesus the music between plays is garbage.
Hit me with your best shot
Is it in the stadium or is espn doing it?
Lol, I hope they overturn that and rule it a catch, putting FSU way back into their own territory instead of taking over on downs.
That's an interception, right?
A: No.
Labor Day night should be fun.
So who is FSU'S THIRD STRING?
This a leadership problem right? Like having all this talent but the coaches seem defeated + a true freshman at QB has to be difficult for him to lead? Also where is Derwin James if your an assumed top ten pick shouldn't you show more leadership on D?
Yeah, I thought FSU's defense was supposed to be elite.
They're right up there with LOLUVA's elite offense.
I'm genuinely bewildered, I assume they're not completely shot on defense and that they have several outstanding players, so it's got to be something else.
Their coach is a clown.
Jimbo's out there, that is for sure.
If you've already finished stranger things season two you can sedate your urges for stranger things by watching BC whoop up on FSU
Dang. BC is getting killed by drops. Should have like 6 INTs by now.
Mack Brown so bad Jesse Palmer actually sounds good at halftime.
I don't know why but Lefty is so much fun to pull for when he's coaching at another school.
He makes for fun football if you don't care if it works. "Sure run another reverse pass on 4th down. Maybe it'll work. If not? Meh"
Damn if only we could have faced fsu instead of Clemson this year. This would be the year to start improving our sad all time record against them
Gonna get a shot at them first game of next season. Hope the downward spiral carries into their offseason too and Francois would still have lots of rust to knock off if recovered by then
AJ Dillon has 100 yd rushing.
Holy crap this is just going downhill for FSU.
This is shaping up as a bizzarro season...looks like BC will be going to a bowl and FSU will likely be enjoying a nice mild Florida winter at home.
Somebody send Loeffler a nice congratulations card.
So do the talking heads finally admit that fsu is actually a bad team after this beating?
So is BC the 3rd, 4th, or 5th best team in the Atlantic? That whole division is a mess with an improved Wake and Syracuse as well.
I hate to see FSU like this. By all means I'm 100% Hokie. I'm Florida bred as well tho. I root for all Florida teams not playing VT.
I fail to relate to your perspective.
Well, It is the land of the free.
Shoutout to all the croots that chose FSU. Enjoy that losing season fam.
Fun to watch all the "hot shot , highly recruited players" that left us at the altar , get their ass kicked by BC. FSU has bigger problems than loosing a qb, McFadden and special teams are bad and the defense has quit and has been looking for the bus since first qtr.
Definitely need to tighten up that QB situation though.
FSU's "longest active bowl streak" was mentioned. FAKE NEWS!!!
Well, at least it will be over now.
One more loss and FSU is bowl eliminated.
True. I imagine the probability that they win all of their remaining four games is very low. And even if they win three of them I'm going to assume a 5-7 FSU won't get in a bowl game on APR.
FSU actually had a game canceled so they will only have 11 regular season games. I wonder if 5-6 takes precedence over 5-7 teams, but would guess probably so. That would mean FSU needs to lose 2 more games. Clemson should beat them pretty easily so either Syracuse or Florida would need to get it done.
my dream is that Clemson and Syracuse make easy work of FSU and then they beat UF.
Yes 5-6 team takes precedence over 5-7, so even though FSU has low APR they would get first pick.
Interesting. I forgot they had a game cancelled.
I don't think that's accurate.
I'll quote from an SBNation article, because it reads easier than the official NCAA language:
The NCAA Postseason Bowl Handbook (link is a PDF) specifically spells out that last part as
The way I read it, a 5-6 team is treated like a 5-7 team, and does not automatically get put at the top of the list, unless the NCAA grants a special waiver.
However, if a team only plays 10 games and goes 5-5, they might be eligible, because the strict definition of bowl eligibility is that a team wins as many (or more) games against FBS teams as it loses.
Where I'm from is predominantly FSU fans.
My mom, brother, uncle and he'll even my neighbor is a nole. Man did they give me hell since 2013 about how bad my Hokies were doing. All LOL's on inside at them. Good Beamer class on the outside.
Someone please make the music stop
I got my own music
Lemme guess...Primus?
Any way you want it that's the way you get it.
They keep playing this fucking song over and over
It's because they don't have fan cheering between plays.
This music in between plays hurts my head.
I just hope we can ruin FSU's season in week 1 as badly as Bama has next year!
Without injuring any of the players of course, but this trajectory for FSU and VT makes next Labor Day very interesting.
And you know that even if FSU doesn't win another game this year, when we play them on Labor Day, they will be ranked. Maybe top 10, even.
At what point does the mercy rule take place I mean come this is getting ugly
Who else is checking in on #FSUTwitter?
Does Memphis now only play on Fridays?
The AAC has gone to a Friday-heavy schedule to get some extra attention in their drive to become the Power6 conference. I, for one, wish them well.
"Power 6"

I mean, they were one before the big shuffle. Trying to earn it back, it seems.
The Big East was, barely.
When they became the American and the paradigm shifted to the Power 5 (and yes, I know there was a year of overlap), the new conference was mostly made up of C-USA teams. The teams that gave the Big East it's "Power" status had already been poached by the ACC, Big 12, and Big Ten (or were in the process of getting taken). The highest profile teams in the American were the teams that replaced VT and Miami.
π
We do play these guys week 1 next season. The most talented 2-4 team
In the nation lol. They definitely have given up on the season since the week 1 loss.
I appreciate Lefty trying to #MANBALL it in on
threefour straight plays with the backup QB in.Florida State started the year as the #3 team in the country.
NUMBER THREE!
PEOPLE WERE PICKING THEM TO BEAT BAMA!!!
Is that you PAWL?
At some point jimbo will have to get him an hot OC he can trust. FSU sorta looks like LSU last year and the year after that and so on haha haha. All of those dynamic recruits and you mean to tell me you can't find a way to get those guys mismatches?!?!?!?!
You mean except for the fact that LSU has a D, where BC would never score 35, unless the QB threw 4 pick 6's.
Maybe he should hire Scot Leoffler π€
Was fsu actually the four point favorite against bc squad that had put up forty the last two games out? Wow, if I gambled I would have put a bunch on bc.
Yeah not sure what Vegas was thinking with FSU -3.5 also not sure about the over/under being set at 47. Not a gambling guy, but is that low for a team like you said averaging 40 pts. in the last two contests?
Against Louisville and loluva.
Like I said I'm not sure how the over gets accounted for I mean Big XII or MAC/AAC teams with their ridiculous overs makes me think it has to be some algorithm of offense vs defense and despite FSU early they've really quit recently it appears.
Actually just before game time I saw a line of FSU (-6.5). Immediately logged on and bet the money line on BC. Times like this I wish I didn't have my $10 max bet rule...
My bad, I saw that spread on the reddit thread for the game.
No worries. It was a massive swing in the spread. At the beginning of the week it was -3
Any FSU croots we can gain ground with if FSU continues to tank?
I'm the farthest thing from an expert, but I think everyone knows or expects this to be a one off year for FSU. I'm sure recruits know who FSU usually is and want to bring that back. If it happens 2 or 3 years in a row, different story. FSU has 100x the history of UNCheat so they get a pass.
That being said, I hope every team kicks the shit out of them for the rest of the year.
I don't expect them to be this bad next year but they have some big issues other than playing a true freshman. The OL is bad. The secondary is struggling. I don't think they will be a true top 10 team for a while.
In case you want more sweet F$U tears here is one of their game threads:
https://floridastate.247sports.com/Board/36/Contents/Florida-State-Semin...
Glorious.
ABC and ESPN 2 have some reverse mirrors going on this weekend. Here's the maps for the 3:30 and 8 PM games.
For the 3:30 game:
TCU at Iowa State on ABC in yellow, ESPN2 in blue.
UCLA at Washington on ABC in blue, ESPN2 in yellow.
Primetime:

GT at Clemson on ABC in yellow, ESPN2 in blue. (Fowler/Herbstreit calling this game.)
TTU at Oklahoma on ABC in blue, ESPN2 in yellow.
This FSU team is worse than any team VT fielded from 2012-15. And those VT teams weren't very good because of a lack of talent, FSU has a ton.
Jimbo's seat is safe, but he can't afford another year like this, that's for sure.
At least Motley was game ready and the team never gave up in 2015. It's sad how mentally broken this FSU team is.
FSU LOST AHAAHAHAHA
This whole thing is just awesome! Nnadi and sweat would be 2nd string in Bburg this year! Now beware if they can get to 5 wins the puke bowl might offer them.
They aren't getting to five wins. Their remaining schedule is:
Syracuse (maybe)
@ Clemson (not happening)
Delaware State
@ Florida (nope)
Even better, their APR (939) is so low that even if the Seminoles somehow manage to get to 5-6 they'll still be passed up for bowl games behind schools like:
Connecticut (3-4, 975 APR)
Temple (3-5, 972)
Old Dominion (2-5, 955)
In fact, FSU's APR is so low that these are the only teams they would be selected to a bowl game before:
UMass (1-6)
Louisiana Tech (3-4)
Florida International (4-2 - yes, FIU has a better record than FSU!)
Georgia Southern (0-6)
Idaho (2-5)
Ehhh, Florida isn't exactly impressing this year either. But yeah between Syracuse and Florida there's a good chance FSU loses 2 more, especially if they play like they did today.
That's true. And notice how UF has nose-dived this season, since Gray departed for a position in the NFL.
Sooo.... That win against BC is looking better by the week.
Not saying beating FSU this year is a signature win, but BC flat took care of business, and from what I saw, they left a lot of points on the turf because of dropped passes.
But... but... guys. Tha U barely inked past FSU and they're totes bak amiright???
GOD BLESS THE BEAUTIFUL SOUL STREAMING GAMEDAY ON YOUTUBE. I LOVE YOU YOU MAGNIFICENT PERSON. WORKING THIS MORNING IS SO MUCH BETTER.
How in the hell is USC still ranked? They've looked like steamy dog crap in every game except Stanford. They were completely blown out by ND, last week after barely scraping by Utah (missed 2pt conversion from losing) and they're still #21 in the country?
You're right.
It appears they're trying to prop them up to keep them a "quality win" for Washington State.
I believe they've 1-whatever against the spread. People just can't seem to wrap their head around USC sucking this year.
unfortunately, miami at unc is the only worthwhile streaming on youtube for me. I'd rather be watching Okie State at WVU
The crowd at UNC today might be one of the lowest attended I've seen in a while. Looks to be half that of the game we played there last year
They're playing the Hurricanes, so at least it doesn't count
To those not in attendance that day, place was fucking EMPTY.
Grier looked like he was moving through molasses.
Is it time to make LOLUNC a thing?
UNC has 4th and goal from the 1.5 and Surratt just took a sack at the 11.
You can't make this shit up. How pathetic. 1st chance all year, for them to do something positive and they can't put it in the endzone after 1st and goal from 1/2 yd out.
I have seen high school fields that look better than that trash UNcheat has. Are they just going for the basketball court look?
Dazz slowed up on his route or that's a TD for UNC
Miami would do something like lose this week and then ruin our shot at win over a top 10 team.
A UNC win still helps VT here. Even if (when) VT beats UM, if VT loses to GT then U still backs their way into the ACCCG.
Miami is so overrated. Even before this slow start I've thought we will kill them next week.
This Miami team is NOT looking good. After watching this first quarter I will be very disappointed if we don't win next week.
A Miami loss today would do us no favors.
See above. It would allow for a cushion if we beat UM and lose to GT.
No because then GT and us would both have 2 ACC losses, with GT having the head to head
3-way tie with UM, each going 1-1 against the other.
Yep and in div, GT & VT are tied with 1 loss, eliminating da U. H2H GT gets the nod.
They use conference record, not division, so it'd be a 3-way tie
Division, not conference.
https://chopchat.com/2016/09/22/acc-football-tiebreakers-decide-division...
And then you use div record to break the tie and check H2H along the way. Conferences have had tie breaker rules in place ever since they went to the division format.
Is the Miami QB done? I had to change a diaper.
Doesn't look like it. Got shoulder checked and appears to be getting ready to come back in after UNC scores their TD.
And UNC is just done with the Brandon Harris experiment?
I think he's still hurt from last week against VT, pretty sure I saw him in street clothes.
They are over halfway through his one season with a 1-7 record. Regardless of whether he sees the field again, I think it's safe to say the experiment is over.
So I know that a win next week against an undefeated Miami squad who is top 10 would obviously be better for our team than beating them after a loss, but watching them shit the bed against this joke of a UNC team who is now on their 3rd string QB is hilarious.
Come on Da U. Be Bak for one more week so we can get that top 10 W. Doesn't look like our win over the cousins will help us out too much.
Miami will find a way to win this, I'm not worried. UNC is terribad in the second half and especially the 4th. Their depth kills them every game. But this shows just how overrated Miami is this year.
apparently, ESPN2 decided to get a camera crew from Antiques Road show to do this game. These guys seem to not understand that the main camera should follow the football.
They also have missed plays coming back from commercials.
It's Miami vs UNC
They're doing us a favor, really
As hilarious as it would be to see Miami lose to this utterly depleted and offensively-inept UNC team, I think my ideal outcome at this point would be for Miami to continue to struggle but eventually squeak out a win after four full quarters. Miami's team will be fatigued both physically and mentally, and VT watching this film next week will smell blood and won't be scared of them at all.
Miami would still be undefeated and retain a somewhat high ranking for our matchup with them. After watching this game I'm not really concerned about gaining a cushion on Miami. I'd rather handily beat them when they are undefeated and squash the "Miami is bak" storyline ourselves.
It would be more hilarious to see them win this and then watch VT beat them.
This is a classic case of them looking ahead to the VT game.
By the same token, we need to not look past Duke.
Completely agree. That's why I said when VT watches this film next week!
UVA down 14-0 with 14 minutes left in the second quarter. 0 passing yards. It's beautiful.
I'm pulling for Pitt in this one.
I feel so dirty.
Just saw a score update on Wake Forest and Louisville: WF is up 21-3.
year of the little teams in the Atlantic. An uprising.
In the ACC, no game is a "gimmee" any more.
UVa just negated a good defensive play with a late hit. Then they got a pass interference. Then Pitt finally got a first down on their own.
Nice.
Lol wake is smoking Louisville
I hope Miami does squeak out a win to remain undefeated and the talking heads to talk about bak they are. Yet in being bak they have no big wins. GT may be their best win. Any of their wins against anyone with a pulse has been down to the wire. I know the media just wants them to be bak but they obviously have a way to go. If they represent the coastal in the acccg Clemson will stomp them.
I'm more worried about GT than Miami. Their biggest win is against Bethune Cookman??
Same. I'm pretty sure Miami is a win. GT is probably 50-50 or so.
If UNC had any bit of a pulse they would probably be up at least 17 if not 21-7
WVU looks like shit. So the only good team that we've played this year is Clemson
They also played TCU to within a touchdown.
So I prefer to think that they're inconsistent.
Personal question do you trade forex?
Haha not anymore. I used to trade quite a bit but quit a few years back.
Ha nice. Just getting started myself.
Ah I see. Good luck! Which exchange are you using? I've been out of the loop for awhile now. I couldn't deal with the leverage stress after they lowered the max leverage from 100:1 to 50:1 so I ended up trading really conservatively with very few moves off very long term charts.
Watching this Miami-UNC game. I know they took the lead before HT, but either they're playing very vanilla and looking too far ahead to the game with us, or else they are genuinely struggling. Also, does NCST leapfrog us if they curbstomp ND? I think they do. Lamar Jackson is getting mauled today.
They're playing vanilla.
Wouldn't you?
After getting a modestly, comfortable lead, yes. Does Miami play ND before us?
We play next week
We are extremely fortunate to get Miami before ND because they are going to get stomped.
Wow, UVA down 21-0. I thought they'd be competitive against Pitt.
Wrong-o!

So Pitt is ok.
They're definitely starting to trend on an upward trajectory this late in the season (which could mean another troublesome game for us).
No. LOLUVA is an absolute fraud 5 W team. Remember they were a horrible no call on an obvious to all, except the refs, facemask penalty away from UNC taking it to OT.
"Thank goodness for NC State, BC and Wake, bringing some legitimacy to the ACC Atlantic"
- no one, ever
Member when the Coastal was the trainwreck before the season and the Atlantic was the gauntlet?
Hmm

Nope.
Announcers still finding a way to blow Miami π unbelievable!
KJ Sails getting burned is satisfying.
That was a nice passing TD play by Miami, but where is their power running game!?!?
I mean really "what did they get?"
Benkert just scored on two pretty good throws, though Pitt's corners are suspect.
Edit:
Pitt had a chance to send UVa to the locker room demoralized, but then let them slip in a TD on that last drive.
So Miami's secondary is getting thinned out, eh?

Arky and WVU slicing some of the deficits down in their games.
Rosier looks like a FB. He also looks like he may not last this game.
Miami probably spent all week preparing for Tech. To say we'll crush them is arrogance and I hope the team isn't thinking like that too
Miami doesn't look any different this week than they have in any game all season.
I think Miami's wr's are suspect. Lot of drops. Still not impressed especially with how bad UNC is this week. With a third sting QB.
Miami may be playing a vanilla game plan but they should still be blasting UNC as the #8 team in the nation.
They have to be getting tired playing games to the wire every weekend even if they are winning them.
In the past 4 games, vs teams with decent to good D's, UNC hasn't had more than 265 total yards and 14 pts in a GAME. Half way through the 3rd qtr vs da U's highly touted (but 50th ranked) D, UNC has 296 yds and 13 pts (should be 21 pts).
That stupid Miami chain, and any fan who wears it, needs to go away.
THANK YOU!!! I mean, who da fuck dey think dey is, DBU??
The best way to do that is to not turn the ball over.
The only things keeping miami in all these games are bullshit turnovers or miraculous catches. I'm not worried. I'm sure Fuente and Bud are not letting our boys overlook Duke, and I'm sure we will be preparing the whole next week to bootyblast Miami
Bootyblast.
Bootyblast!
Week NOINE

Cousins with 2 quick defensive scores to make this a ballgame
Ole Miss + Okie St dangerously fucking around as Arky & WVU are closing in.
Holy crap 2 ints by Miami and nothing. Escaped with a late hit no call. Miami is lucky they aren't losing this game right now.
Man the ACC sure seems down this year. I figured it would take a dip, losing all the QB talent that it did, but I didn't think it would drop this far.
Just like old times. OUR old times (except we have BOTH a competent Offensive and Defensive staff) π
Hmm. So not only do they lose the INT, but Miami gets a 1st and nearly scores. I'll admit I wanted UNC to score and take the lead just to make it more of a game (I would've even taken some joy had UNC nabbed the upset). But ultimately wanted Miami to win because it's better for us record-wise, plus it should take some air out of their sails when we play them.
Elliot with ANOTHER INT. LMFAO!
WVU back in their game.
Haha so Miami is definitely gonna get another late Big Bak Win and will continue to get overhyped. This is perfect. All is going according to plan.
Yes, yes. That's right. Let them keep believin dey hype. It'll make it easier to break BOTH the hype, as well as them.
Stuck up in a tree stand on this lovely windy day so can't watch but is unc actually playing with a pulse or is this another trash performance by miami? Is it rainy or windy at Chapel hill or is there no excuses for either teams suckiness?
Both teams are doing jack squat. Miami is trash and UNC is trash, it's just that Miami is capitalizing on UNC's trash more than the other way around. For every positive play for each team there is about 2 negative plays
And as I typed that UNC gets the ball back on an INT after just losing it on their own INT
UNC has 3 TOs, more first downs...ugly ugly ugly. Miami be loosing if UNC didn't turn it over. We would have still one 38-28 if they didn't turn it over. Miami leads 24-13...you tell us?
Watching this game, our secondary should, and mandatorily have a damn field night with Jr there.
Looks like Okie St & Ol Miss finally woke up from their mid-game naps.
Great punt there by Lent.
UVa offense just got stonewalled on 4th and goal at the 1/2 yard line by the Pitt defense.
Meltdown on Le Sabre.

Ah, tres magnefique, c'est BON.

Those QB scrambler keepers tho'. #They'llReallyGetAfterYa
MIAMI SO GARBAGE. I WANT TO BEAT A TOP TEN TEAM NEXT WEEK GOT DAMN IT
Well, since it's Miami, you kinda gotta put an asterisk when including them and top 10 in the same sentence.
it is known
I swear. Miami is gonna blow this
The battle of who wants to blow it harder.
Take that how you will.
That's what both ladies said.
Sorry....
Miami resorting to atypical on-field thuggery. Looks like Richt hasn't totally eliminated that component of the program yet.
That is so Tar Heels.
But, on the bright side, we get a (snicker) Top 10 (guffaw) Da U next week.
Arky taking a page out of our book from last season's Belk Bowl and pulling ahead of Miss.
Miami have to be the worst undefeated team in recent memory. Worse than 2013 FSU.
They are actually shit. FSU were too weak to stop their premature ebakulation this season, the responsibility is now ours. Let's curbstomp them.
Agreed. We should absolutely destroy this terrible Miami team next week. Just have to get through Duke tonight, which I don't think should be too much of an issue but you never know
Agreed. But let us FIRST dispatch of the Devils.
Premature ebakulation.
I am dying in line at the Target getting he last pieces for a costume party tonight
Time to head over to LeSabre and see what excuses they make up for their team this week! Should be good! With Miami, Louisville, Georgia Tech and the Good Guys left on their schedule, they may miss out on bowl season!!
As long as Louisville can get their shit together enough to win a game, we should get to be the eliminators. How sweet would it be to put the final nail in the coffin after a 5-1 start.
So good.

Notice use of the PIE in exhibited gif.
I think this settles whether Miami was playing vanilla or not. If they were playing vanilla, their vanilla certainly looks a lot like really shitty football that can't even do the basics very well
Vanilla or not their WR's and OL is suspect. Do not buy that hype at all.
Except Berrios. That kid is legit.
Something definitely happened between richt and fedora during that post game hand shake. Given what I know about both coaches, I am almost certain fedora was being a pissy little D bag.
Just get through Duke tonight and we have a plump chicken on the platter next week.
Let's just try and go 1-0 this week.
Miami reminds me of Michigan before they started playing good teams. Then they played Michigan State and PSU and they don't look so good anymore.
Well PSU is legit, NCST might be really good despite that weird lose to USCe.
I feel like Ryan Finley's going to be another NFL QB.
I've watched his games this year and he has the fundamentals that NFL teams look for. I don't know what it is about NCST and NFL QBs but they sure know how to nurture them.
Glennon, Wilson, Rivers, Brissett...it's insanely impressive considering NCST is a middling team otherwise.
No way. He didn't go to USC (the real one in LA), so there's no way he'll be any good. Just look at Darnold and all of the great USC QB's playing in the NFL.
Miami should move down in the rankings after that game. If UNC hadn't been playing their 3rd string QB I think they would have killed Miami. Four second half turnovers and Miami couldn't put them away.
Anyone doubting that Georgia spread right now?
I thought it should have been much bigger. Don't know how Florida is gonna score before garbage time.
What's the point of having the design on Ohio State's alternate helmets if theyre just going to slap helmet stickers all over it and cover it up?
Saquan Barkley is a feather of lead?? lol ok one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.
What a pass and catch there from NC State.
Bullshit PI call to give PSU that TD. I don't care for either of these coaches or teams, but I hate to see that happen in a game like this.
Look at it more closely.
Looked like to me #3 was holding his arm. It looked like it might have been pass interference. They called it on the wrong player.
One of the commentators called it before the refs did. The other commentator was adamant that it wasn't. It was hard to see, but I'd go with the refs on that one.
Having to watch the HOMER nd announcers.
On NBC, Notre Dame is the home team, as proven by the TV contract.
Just realized Arkansas actually completed the big second half comeback. Must be opposite day down there.
This is one way out of UF's $12.5 mil buy out of McElwain's contract: http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/21199029/university-flor...
That's weak and desperate. If they want him out, they'll need to pay him.
I'm concerned about ND pummeling NC State today. Going 6-0 v. ACC teams and making the playoffs is bad for the ACC and bad for VT.
Miami probably collapses if we beat them next week and that's the only loss I can see remaining on ND's schedule.
Say we beat NC State in the ACCCG, does a one loss ND get chosen over a 1-loss ACC champ Virginia Tech?
Either way they need to join a conference or lose access to the playoffs.
Why yes....yes they will.
See I think a 12-1 ACC conference champion gets in over a 11-1 team without a conference championship. People still remember the title game with ND getting obliterated.
Unfortunately I'd say:
Clemson- yes.
VT- no.
ND plays both Miami and NC State so that takes care of those comparisons.
Gotta say, after watching ND-NCSU? I don't know if the Irish can win out.
They've played a pretty boss schedule, so if they DO win out, they're a capital-L Lock for the playoff. But roadies at a butthurt Miami and Stanford will not be cakewalks.
I think they have a good defense and an incredibly athletic, incredibly one-dimensional quarterback. And Josh Adams, who IMO is the best running back in FBS in terms of pro potential. But defenses like the 'Canes and Cardinal will give their OL fits all day. Way crazier things have happened than ND dropping one of their last four...
If we're a 1-loss ACC champ, then I'll dance naked in the streets. That would go down as one of the greatest seasons in VT history. Making the playoff would just be a bonus at that point.
I would bet all of the money that's exactly what would happen
That would be a great problem to have.
If that happens, then B12 and P12 are left out and both will make it.
IMO, I don't think any one loss team determines their destiny with respect to a playoff birth. With UGA, Bama, Miami and UCF still undefeated, VT, OSU, Clemson, and PSU will all finish the season with similar SOS. This year is going to be fun.
If ever again there are two teams from the same conference that make the playoffs then the system is broken beyond repair and college football should be burned to the ground.
Most people would argue the opposite, that the system is broken if we prevent two teams from entering the playoff, just because they are from the same conference.
Those people are wrong and they should feel bad for being so wrong.
If you want to go to the playoffs, convince your conference to send you. Win your conference's championship game.
Seems to me that the simplest approach would be to have an eight-team playoff. Each P5 team sends one team, and have the committee pick three at large teams.
Problem solved. Sure, there will be one or two teams complaining every year, but that would be about as fair as the NCAA could make it.
One revision to your proposal. Each P5 Champion, the Highest rated G5/independent, and 2 at large.
#conferencesmatter
Unless playoffs expanded to 8 or more.
You go Iowa State!
Kenny Hill thought he was still wearing an A&M Jersey all game
Iowa State is going to singlehandedly eliminate the Big 12.
Frogs got gigged!
Wow #85 for OSU blocking nobody in the EZ on the 2-point conversion. PSU still up 5.
Also how much longer is Campbell going to be at ISU, because teams are going to back up the bank truck this season for him.
This PSU-OSU game living up to the hype.
too much time left. PSU will win.
Their kicker is 7/14 this year. uh oh
Looks like he won't be needed.
And............PSU pukes on themselves....And they had 0 pass rush all day!
Saquon Barkley with 44 yds on 21 rushes. 36 of those on one rush. So, to my math-challenged brain that's 8 yds on 20 rushes. Heisman winner?
97 yd kick return plus some catches too. as of last week i think he still lead the country in all purpose yards.
Get your facts out of my way!
In all fairness it isn't what you expect from a RB. Ingram and Henry won Heismans as pretty much pure RBs but ungodly athletes like Saquon and Reggie Bush do a bit of everything...and Barkley might be the most edge-of-your-seat player to watch this year.
I was at the OSU game yesterday. OSU took one out of Fosters playbook and stacked the box especially in the 2nd half. 7-8 guys rushing pretty much every play. Also seemed if they didn't bring that many they had a spy on Saquon. It allowed McSnorley to pick up some yards on the ground, but kept Saquon from burning them. Not sure too many defenses that aren't stacked with talent could replicate that performance.
Watching the 40 minute replay, OSU took a couple out of tech's play-book, but Urban's been doing that since we surprised them in the 'shoe. They played smart special teams, shot gaps to get penetration and derail run plays, and spyed the QB. Not to mention our oddenses look really similar, with our explosiveness coming on short passes, and OSU's on zone-reads.
GT's QB has -6 yds rushing tonight
Is it raining in Death Valley, SC tonight also?
Yup
Hunter Johnson in at QB for Clemson.
If you'll look at my signature, you'll know I had a good day.
My good buddy is a Pitt Alum, and I was surprised to hear that they thoroughly dominated UVA yesterday - figured they'd win but not by 17 points.
I perused The Sabre for some shits and giggles from their weekly meltdown, and it did not disappoint. They apparently all believe that because the assistant AD from UGA got hired as the new AD at UVA, that Jacob Eason is going to transfer this year and will be their quarterback for the next three years..
Yes, because it's well-known that high level recruits follow their assistant AD when they get a promotion to a new school.
Not.
...waiting for HokieMacGruber's old man laughing gif that is the pretty much the perfect response to any LOLUVA assertion or hope.
