OT: After you are done bingeing on Stranger Things...

Check out Mindhunter. The first few episodes have been pretty intriguing.

My wife and I watched that a few weeks ago. Excellent show, felt like a long, really excellent episode of old school Law & Order. The main characters development was a highlight to me.

The right amount of dark humor, and very serious subject matter without feeling oppressive in the story. It's based on the book about the FBI agents that got the Behavioral Science program going

Interesting. How does it compare to Criminal Minds?

I'm not a huge fan of Criminal Minds so take this with a grain of salt but I find MindHunter to be more focussed and slower. It doesn't have a lot of action and is very cerebral. Criminal Minds feels a bit chaotic to me.

No action really in the show, and a much more serious take on criminal profiling and the team that in effect created the term "serial killer".

The killers they meet and interview in the show are/we're real people (although I'm sure a few artistic licenses were taken) and the description of their crimes can be a bit chilling considering they actually happened. For instance, look up Edmund Kemper, who plays a fairly sizable role in the first season.

Unlike Criminal Minds it's also not really about trying to solve any specific case (although that does come up later in the season), but more about trying to develop techniques to figure out why people do some of the horrible things they do, and can that then beused to prevent/catch others.

Just finished it, can't wait for the second season now.

Whoever the dude is that plays Ed Kemper needs some awards. Played that role to perfection, and was easily my favorite part of the show.

I thought the show was Ok. I thought it would be darker / more thrilling rather than the documentary-type of story it went through. A bit misleading.

You guys should check out The 100. The first few episode are the general CW show, but give it some time and get into the 2nd season and beyond and it's awesome and really high stakes.

Ditto... I'm in the middle of the 2nd season now. Season 1 was alright, but definitely had the CW teen angst drama thing happening, but its gotten much better in Season 2.

Also, if you haven't watched Ozark yet, you're missing out

Now finish up them taters; I'm gonna go fondle my sweaters.

This man is correct.

Just make sure there are no kids around when you fire it up. Can't wait for Season 2.

As a side note, I felt one of the big reasons why this is that kind of "creepy" show, in that you are always waiting for something bad to happen, is just the dissonance of seeing Jason Bateman as a "bad" guy. He is literally usually the most likeable guy in every role he plays otherwise.

I'm gonna finish the extended editions of the LOTR movies that I just bought on Playstation a couple weeks ago (it was a fantastic deal), then binge Stranger Things, and by that time I'm sure The Punisher will be out and waiting for me.

Oh FFS I thought this would be the Season 2 spoilers thread, so I've been avoiding it til I finished.

But yeah this show is already on my interests list.
