We are still above average, but nothing special.
I'm honestly excited for next year. Patterson will be the game changer we need. I like Jackson but does he excite me not at all. We need a gamer changer at Qb as each year we waste our defense ability to keep us in games.

I mean what is our "go to" play?
We're not a running team, we're not a passing team, we're not a short play/rhythm team, we're not a pound it team, we're not an up-tempo team, we're not a RPO team, we're not a zone read team, etc. we're kind of all of these and none of these.
JJ is gonna be good give him time but the play calling in the first half and the inability to capitalize on their errors killed us a no show from the receivers hurt even more by the lack of a run game, folks were looking good in the future but right now as a wise Jedi once said, top 25 team you are not

Maybe it's time for some people to admit that Miami, while not perfect, is a decent team with a LOT of speed and a good QB.
They find a way to win every week, and that's not easy.
VTs game was disappointing, with a few notable lapses, some unlucky breaks, and a baffling call of personal foul on getting faked out.

It seems like against average to bad team, we open up the playbook... but against above average to good team, we are so damn conservative and vanilla. I get the whole thing with JJ being a freshman, but some of the play calling is very suspect.
I am also wondering what is the plan with JJ. I think he has been good for his age but we have Hooker who will be a r-frosh next year while JJ is a r-sophomore, and then when have QP redshirting (maybe?) too. It's a good problem to have but I don't see us riding out JJ until he graduates.
