Virginia Tech added highly desired linebacker Keshon Artis to its 2018 recruiting class. Artis opted for the Hokies over finalists Central Florida and N.C. State. Artis also reportedly held offers from regional Power Five programs Maryland, West Virginia, and Virginia. Artis has been a priority for the Hokies on the recruiting trail since they offered him way back in April 2016.

The 6-0, 230 pound Oscar Smith HS standout is, upon further photographic confirmation, indeed a linebacker.

The 247Sports Composite rates Artis as 3-star prospect. Although both 247Sports and ESPN rate him as a 4-star. Either way, he's racked up impressive stats during his senior campaign.
Regular Season Stats 😅 -71 total tackles(44 Solo)-8 sacks-27 tackles for lost-5 forced fumbles-9 qb pressures -2 pass break ups— Keshon Artis® (@asvp_ke) November 7, 2017
(Although, he forgot to include his rushing touchdowns.)

(yes, I know it's pre-written...)
He's put up some artis(tic) stats his senior year. Welcome Home Keshon!
I was wondering when the puns would Keshon
You're punnier than me, take your leg.
Damn he looks tough! Glad he's a Hokie. Welcome Keshon!
FAM! Welcome Home Keshon!
Perfect week for some good news! Welcome Home, Artis!
Go Hookies.
Is this what we're calling the offense whenever Hooker takes over at QB?
I see what you did there. Take your damn leg.

Holy hell, how is this guy in high school?! Those are some serious pythons he has for arms
Your avatar gives away your interest in his arms... (jk)
I like the Artis renderings of him in a Tech uniform in his tweets.
Keshon already has the build of a D-1 college football player. Can't wait to see what Hilgart is going to do with him in the weight room.
Make him a DT?
He said Hilgart, not Wiles.
Not that these decisions are made spur the moment (i would hope), but picking up a guy like Keshon after last game (or 2) that had fans sharpening their pitchforks is a nice reminder of the direction this program is headed under Fuente.
This! I'm glad recruits don't react off of one game outcomes like some irrational fans do (unfortunately, including myself here). If we can get Dax, this might very well be a very special corps of LBs for years to come. Now we just need to secure some playmakers on the OL/WR/RB to really get this team moving forward.
Welcome to Hokie Nation Mr. Artis!
Ok so someone give me the pronunciation here. Is it Key-shon, Keh-shon, keh-Shon, key-Shon, Keh-shun, etc.
And to beat you jokers to your own game, it's definitely not keh-vihn.
Nah, I'm still making this joke.
It's pronounced Kevin.
What is the Kevin joke?

You're dead to me Skutt!
syll. kes-hon, ke-sh-on ] The baby boy name Keshon is pronounced as Kih-SHAHN †. The origin of Keshon is the English-American language. Keshon is a derivative of the English name Keshawn.

I saw Keshon at the Duke game before the players walk and had to do a double take because this kid is stacked. He isn't the tallest guy in the world but he looks like a grown ass man. Can't believe he already looks like that before Hilgart gets his hands on him.
Welcome home Keshon!
Saw him doing work this summer on a single man blocking sled. My wife actually asked, "Is that one of the football coaches?" To which my 9th grade son replied "Nope that is a senior who will probably end up at VT! He is just built like a grown man."
Finally! Bit of good news.
He seems like the perfect player to replace motuapuaka after this season.
Dammit jack crow, will you let it go already?...oh sorry man. It's just reflex at this point. Have a leg.
This doesn't suck. LB depth/talent is shaping up to be as good as it's ever been at VT the next couple years.
Welcome aboard Keshon!
Now just convince your teammate Cam'Ron Kelly to commit to the Good Guys too and we'll call it a day...
If Dax signs as well and also to have rivers . The future is bright !!! Question is how can we possibly get these guys on field at same time with so many spread teams now ?
My personal #sources have it that NC State is playing the numbers game and soured on Artis late. Don't know who else was truly in the final running, but either way I'm glad it ended up working out for us. He'll be a great LB.
Hah... Rookies, don't they know the numbers always work?
I call Shenanigans on that one. By 247, Artis would be the highest-ranked LB recruit in their class. You don't "sour" often on a high 3*/4* player unless you have others in the bank or waiting in the wings.
This whole "well we didn't want him that bad," or "didn't fit our system," is a common theme from fanbases who know they aren't gonna get somebody in the days leading up to announcement. And yes, we do it too.
No shenanigans. State was/is pushing to switch another LB instead of pursuing Artis.
Because they were a distant second on him...
I think they think they have a good shot at flipping Peyton Wilson from UNC
bingo
FINALLY some good news! His arms are like tree trunks. If he can get them moved quickly to wrap up the runner's legs then we will be in good shape.

Smart man! Here's your leg
Good size and instinct to attach the ball. He will be a welcome addition to the Bud-team.
That didn't take long. Going after Prio 1 and 2
@thekjhenry_ @ChiefDax_25 might as well join hokie nation 🦃🤘🏽— Keshon Artis® (@asvp_ke) November 15, 2017 " target="_blank">
Our class has 9 four star commits according to ESPN's recruiting stuff. Idk how our past recruiting classes have compared but that seems pretty good at this time of the year
