It seems that the white balls were used at night. During the 40s and 50s. I did go to a night game around 1964 between the Bills and the Chargers, I do not remember the ball being white. A few years later my LL team had a playoff game before and during a Bills / Raiders night game and they for sure were not using white.
Again the one I had was probably plastic with these really cheap vinyl laces (or whatever) Probably totally cancer causing! Man that took me back! Your sports trivia for the day. GD! I lived trivia!
