Who all is going to help fill up Lane Stadium North on Friday night?
My brother (also a Hokie alum) sadly moved to Charlottesville a few months ago, so I'll be with him, my girlfriend, and sister (another Hokie alum) in Section 527. We plan on doing a full day of tailgating before the stadium fills with beautiful hues of Chicago Maroon and Burnt Orange.
Drop by and let the FAM know if you're going and whatever other pertinent tailgating or seating information you'd like to share or ask a question about.
GO HOKIES! 🦃
EDIT: UVA's athletic website has all the information you need on game day parking. If you follow the link, there's a list of available public lots and you can see them in either an interactive map or a PDF. It's very nicely done.

I'll be watching from Atlanta.
But I'm looking forward to hearing "Let's Go, Hokies" cheers in Scott Stadium, and to seeing VT go 1-0 this week.
I'll be there. Tailgating in Fontaine with a pile of Wahoos and a couple Hokies. Gonna be cold, and gonna be a blast.
Seating: I know we're row QQ, seat 3-4. I think 115.
Fontaine is legitttt. Such a great spot for tailgating.
Sounds like there is gonna be a nice fair few TKP peoples in Fontaine.
Fontaine Research Park - Free on a first come, first served basis: Walk to the stadium via lighted pedestrian walkway and Stadium Road. Parking lots are available three hours prior to kickoff.
Just making sure ya'll are aware, unless it's changed ^^^

We actually hit on this in another thread. They never enforce this, at least not for our games there. Since the University is on break, nobody is working so the lot is open.
Okay, good to know. Just didn't want you guys getting screwed if this was something new. Thanks.
Rightfully so. Hopefully it is not something they decide to enforce starting this year, cause I will tailgate in the road.
For some reason I am hearing the beginning of Aces High by Iron Maiden right about now.
Yeah I think the one time I've heard of them enforcing was for a midweek primetime game a few years ago. The BIL's whole contingent went up looking to throw down and they actually came out and made them move over to JPJ. They were livid. Sent Littlepaige a scathing letter " how do you expect to have any fans here if yall are doing this shit blah blah blah." I was actually angry for them...they've had a couple rows behind their home bench for years, thru thick and thin they're always there. Littlepaige didn't budge in his response letter.
Have fun, gang. My first, last and only game attended in Scott Stadium is TripGate in '95 as a member of the MVs. Just remember to do what we did when their marching band (then pep band) takes the field -- turn your back and start reading a newspaper and never forget the insult their pep band attempted on Bimbo Coles on a day we were honoring him!
What did they try to do to Bimbo?
The UVa pep band became nationally known in the early '90s for increasingly foul and tasteless humor. Those unfortunate enough to be near Charlottesville already knew all about this. In 1985, during a game with West Virginia University, they invited WVU cheerleaders to participate in their show, assuring them that no harm would be done; the 'Eers complied, and then were abjectly humiliated on the field and over the stadium loudspeakers with inbreeding jokes and other insults. In the ensuing furor, the then-Governor of WV vowed that WVU would never play UVa again. In 1988, at the Virginia Tech-UVa game in Blacksburg, they learned that Hokie basketball player Bimbo Coles was to be honored for becoming the first Hokie to participate in the Olympics that year; their show consisted of a mayor character giving a Bimbo character the key to the town outhouse (parodying the key to the city that he actually received), and they were subsequently banned from ever setting foot on Worsham Field again. (In a tit-for-tat move, VT's Marching Virginians were banned from the Scott Stadium field starting the next year.)

Those who frequent Hooville every other year--what sections have the largest concentration of Hokies (besides the entire stadium). From what I see online, the designated visitors section is 112. Looking for tickets now, but don't want to be stuck in a section where everyone is sitting down reading The Idiot's Guide to Football.
Sections 501-504 are designated as the UVA student section, but besides that, most of the East Upper Stands (506-518) and the rest of the Upper Stands (518-539) have a large concentration of Hokies.
i grew up in cville going to uva games, section 112-114 is usually the visitors but you can count on VT owning sections 111-115 and their respective sections in the 500s. Last time it felt like we owned the entire south endzone.
just found this

I'll be heading up with a few others... Haven't decided if tailgating or bargating.
Lot 18 light will be in Fontaine sometime in the morning. Yall come find me.
I'll be in Fontaine drinking obscene amounts of bourbon and getting my ass kicked by APFOW Sr. in cornhole.
Usually after about 6 bourbons, I go from a horrible cornhole player to an Olympic Champion. Hope you have the same luck against the Sr.
Nope. Won't happen. The old man is ridiculous. I think it was all those years pitching horseshoes before cornhole was a thing.
Haha, ya pitching a bean bag is child's play after throwing cast iron for years.
I will be there and will rock a TKP shirt (under many layers probably).
Edit: I will be somewhere between section 109-111, don't remember my exact row.
Nice! I've got my HOAT shirt packed, but I don't think a size M is going to fit over a sweatshirt and jacket. I'll make a war towel or Indian headdress out of it instead.
Section 114, checking in.
Section 114 row G checking in!!
Have a group of about 20 Hokies checking in for section 114. Setting up our tailgate in Fontaine - Lets Go!
We'll have a group of 10 in 115. .
Still looking for a good tailgate spot. Sounds like Fontaine may be the place. I've tailgated by JPJ before, which was also fine.
My daughter and I will be in section 115... looking for a tailgating spot.
Upper Section 504 - looking to make some friends with UVA fans
Probably parking somewhere and going bar-gating
me and my brother will be there, don't know where since he got the tickets.
Sec 107 & tailgating in the South lot.
How tight are they on enforcing the section listed on the ticket? For instance, if we get tired of the douchebaggery in 504, could we move down to a section with more Hokies?
With the records going in, I imagine it'll be a solid crowd...so the chances of moving about may be limited, especially depending on hiw the game goes.
We are here! Fontaine research park. Come find me and bring UVA people for me to heckle.
If anyone needs extra tickets, UVa just released some new seats (some in 110):
UVa tickets
Just scored tickets for the game! What is the best free parking lot for semi-late (1/2 hr before kickoff) arrival, guys?
Oof - that's a tough one. I imagine the only free parking that'll be available will be out by UHall & JPJ. If I were you I'd spend $15 and park at the UVA Hospital south garage.

The bus runs by U-Hall, correct?
I assume Fontaine is full by now?
Actually, Fontaine might still have spots right now. It technically opens 3 hours before kickoff (but it's been free game all day because the university is closed today).
No clue on the buses.
There are still tons of people rolling in here, but it is filling up
