I would love to see more of AJ's running ability; however, the coaches definitely want their investment (JJ) to keep getting the reps this year. Just frustrating to see where the offense is now compared to the confidence they had earlier in the year.

I'm just not even going to comment anymore. It's obvious what is wrong with this team. Why we are worse on offense than we were 2-3 years ago confounds me. This is sub-loeffler. Embarrassing.
Injuries. This started when Nijman went down. Throw in a dinged up QB who looks like he lost his confidence and take out Savoy then you get this O. What I don't like (or get) us why the QB rotation. We played all 4 RB's in the half. We had 3 different backs start the 1st three drives. Peoples had a nice 1st drive. So we bring in Holston. I'm not sure the logic there.
The vast majority of injuries are on defense, and we are playing like '85 bears there. Our offense has no cohesion, no identity, no leadership, and no will at all.
Nijiman, Savoy, Slye, Mcmillan, Peoples just came back, Farley before season started.
Defense has had more depth fit for the system. Remember Foster is still playing with all his recruits. Jackson, the starting QB, isn't even Fuente's recruit. Injuries on defense aren't as detrimental because the recruited depth is there. On offense it's much more dire cuz the depth just isn't the same. This is the first time in 5 years(correct me if I'm wrong) that the offensive line coaches have been the same for 2 years
I agree, but the D line is starting to get tired since we don't have a lot of depth there. We need some bodies to fill in for Settle and Walker. We lose one of them, our D will get gashed like the 03 D did when injuries caught up with it.
Yeah but we've had more depth on D historically. We knew we had a small margin of error on O and we took a big hit before the season when CJ couldn't get healed up and Farley went down. Now with avoy out that hurts at WR tonight, but mostly we're hurting on the line. Osterloh isn't as solid as Nijman. I also think Jackson has lost a little of his confidence as well.

Thats because our old staff didn't recruit enough linemen (something it looks ike the current staff is still doing). Remember 07? Wang goes down with a broken ankle in pre season practice forcing us to move Gore (I think) to OT ad Graham, an undersized freshman, to DT and the line was horrid to start the season. Once Wang came back we were able to slide out OT back to his guard spot and Wang played OT. The line started to improve. That line was one of the reasons we had to burn Tyrod's shirt when the LSU game got out of hand.

I know it's not as bad as it ever seems, but if you can't see that the offense is absolutely terrible and worse than we expected this year, by far, then I don't know what to tell you. Even more maddening that we have regressed almost each game the second half of the season. Yeah I know Nijman is out, but this is horrible.

At this point in the season they should be playing better. The loss of Nijman hurt. But there should be some ability to move the ball. Jackson looks like he regressed some.
In fairness only people with O&M shades on expected this offense not to regress in year two with departures of Ford, Hodges, Evans and Rogers.
I think this offense is probably pretty close to what any realistic expectations were.
Only Homers really believed this offense should be the same or better than last year

I'm just very surprised that JJ was listed as a "dual threat" qb coming out of high school. I guess in high school the speed difference wasn't as pronounced so he was able to burn up some yards running, but after watching him this year, it is obvious that his thing is definitely drop back passer, not very unlike Brewer.
