Worst: Anything on the fucking hallmark channel. I swear to all that is holy if I have to sit through one more shitty wanna be christmas drama movie with Candace Cameron, Dean Cain, Lacey Chabert, Lori Laughlin or any of the other host of B list actors/actresses, I will burn down the building and put strychnine in the water supply! My wife actually tried to delete several of my games off the DVR to make room to record more of this tripe. And the worst part of it is, is that she thinks that the best way to spend an evening is watching these "movies" back to back, and I have to sit there on the couch with her as well! Sorry for the rant. I just wish the hallmark channel would go off the air... like forever.

Take One Drink Every Time... •Ellen calls Clark "Sparky"
•Someone is wearing an ugly holiday sweater
•There is singing or bells shaking
•The swimming pool is referenced
•Clark is wearing a sports team article of clothing
Additional Rules: • The entire group takes a drink whenever an advent calendar door is opened.
• You must yell "Shitter's Full!" any time you leave to use the restroom, otherwise you must finish your beer when you return.
• The first person to say "Get me somebody! And get me somebody while I'm waiting!" when Frank Shirley appears on screen for the first time chooses a person to finish their drink.
• The first person to stand up & fully complete the "knock on the door, peek in..." correctly WITH hand gestures during that scene gives two drinks.
• At any point in the movie, you can point to someone & yell "RUSS!" If they do not respond with "Right here, dad" they must take a drink (max once per person, this could get out of control).
• Anytime someone misquotes a line in the movie, they have to wear the Santa hat until it gets passed to the next person.
•When the movie is over, the last person wearing the Santa hat has to shotgun a beer & finish by saying "Ahh, It's good, It's good. It's good."
They are and Ernest Goes to Jail is also my favorite. I've said this before, but we actually named our dog Rimshot. And ya, Jim Varney was a good man. He would've made a hell of a Hokie.

Yeah, my wife would panic if she couldn't watch it so I went ahead and bought the dvd a couple of years ago. No problem. She also likes a really sappy one, A Dog Named Christmas, a Hallmark product, I believe, that isn't scheduled this year. While it is a bit too syrupy for me, even for a Christmas show, I will watch it and anything else with Noel Fisher (Meet The Riches, Shameless, and many more), who I think is an incredible actor with amazing range. If it doesn't show before Christmas, I'll be buying it next year. Gotta keep momma happy around Christmas time.

2nd floor, 236. Back in the day, I had put up wood paneling over the puke-green cinder block walls, separated the room into two by hanging a tapestry, "borrowed" a couch from the lounge and re-covered it, and even hung curtains. It was nicknamed 'The Penthouse" and was mentioned in a student article in the Collegiate Times as one of the best rooms on campus. It may or may not have been known for an almost steady stream of blue smoke wafting out from under the door.

Nice, I believe the only time we were mentioned was the failed kitchen experiment. They tried to convert the second floor lounge into a kitchen for us, but for some reason, an asshole snuck in one night and smeared literal shit all over the place in there.... They shut down the lounge for the rest of the semester, and never did find out who did it. That was before the card access, when we had a night monitor at the back door by the laundry room.

Christmas Vacation, my dad was inspired to be a real life Clark Griswold and always filled our yard with inflatables and over the top decorations.
Elf, quickly became a classic for me.
Year Without a Santa Claus, who doesn't love the weird "wait is this a christmas movie" vibe as heat miser and snow miser sing songs about temperature and get into cloud riding demi-god battles for their mother's (Mother Nature) affection.
And of course for value, It's a Wonderful Life.

I feel like people either side with The Christmas Story or Christmas Vacation, but not both. I personally am not a fan of The Christmas Story and believe no movie in the world can compare to Christmas Vacation. We should do a poll and settle this once and for all.
While I am not a huge fan of The Christmas Story, I vividly remember waking up at my grandmother's on Christmas mornings to the smell of bacon and this on the tv. So I watch for the nostalgia, especially now that she's gone.

It's not Christmas until I watch the VHS tape with Garfield's Christmas and Claymation Christmas featuring The California Raisins, which my parents recorded including the commercials from 1989. Does anyone else remember the Laughing Trees commercials for fruit snacks?
Then it's A Christmas Story, Muppets' Christmas Carol, Christmas Vacation, Scrooged, and Muppets' Treasure Island.
Every year my wife's grandma hosts a women's-only ornament exchange and watching of White Christmas while the men do a craft brewery crawl. I definitely get the better end of that deal.

I was the first kid on my street to get HBO back in like 1978 or so, and they ran Emmett. My 4th and 5th grade friends and I piled up at my house and we must have watched that thing 6000 times.

One of our favorites that nobody ever heard of is Surviving Christmas with Ben Affleck and James Gandolfini. Definitely not a movie you can watch with the family, very adult oriented. Gandolfini makes it hilarious. Highly recommended.

I just played Scrooge in a production of this that ended last weekend. And while the ghosts in the movie are fantastic, Albert Finney is damn near unbearable. He sounds like he's in a Monty Python sketch the whole time.
As far as versions of A Christmas Carol go, I'm partial to the Patrick Stewart one.

I have to disagree, for me it isn't Christmas season until I sit down and watch White Christmas. It is probably my favorite Christmas movie.

All Ernest Movies up to and including Ernest Scared Stupid are classics... Personal favorite is Ernest goes to jail.
I actually cried when the actor died. He made a fortune off of a car commercial character who made it to the big screen.

im a typical dude in that I don't like to admit when I like a romantic comedy but I have to second this, Love Actually is great. Most guys wish they can go to rural Wisconsin and meet Shannon Elizabeth.

Every year my wife's grandma hosts a women's-only ornament exchange and watching of White Christmas while the men do a craft brewery crawl. I definitely get the better end of that deal.

The Waltons Homecoming: A Christmas Special is an absolute classic. My mother was from Nelson County, home of Walton's creator Earl Hamner, and boy she loved that show.
In addition to several named above, we make it a point to always watch A Christmas Carol with George C. Scott. We wore out the old VHS tape and finally got it on DVD.
By far my favorite Christmas Carol. And The Sheriff of Rottingham as Fred is the shining roll.

Elf is a total knee slapper up until the Central Park thing at the end. It kind of fizzles out for me.
Agreed. It loses it's momentum there and gets a little dry from that point on.
That's one of the geniuses of Christmas Vacation; the movie just keeps getting better and better and it goes on.
Deck the Halls with Danny DeVito, Matthew Broderick, and Kristen Chenoweth is a pretty good one. It's a little corny, but overall pretty funny.
One of our favorites that nobody ever heard of is Surviving Christmas with Ben Affleck and James Gandolfini. Definitely not a movie you can watch with the family, very adult oriented. Gandolfini makes it hilarious. Highly recommended.
Die Hard is not a Christmas movie.

Movies: Die Hard, Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story, White Christmas, It's a Wonderful Life, Love Actually. I haven't seen my favorite version of A Christmas Carol - Scrooge w/ Albert Finney. The ghosts were great in this one.
Christmas Specials: Charlie Brown Christmas, Rudoloph, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Animated w/ Boris Karloff narrating)
I just played Scrooge in a production of this that ended last weekend. And while the ghosts in the movie are fantastic, Albert Finney is damn near unbearable. He sounds like he's in a Monty Python sketch the whole time.
As far as versions of A Christmas Carol go, I'm partial to the Patrick Stewart one.
