Some press conference notes. The Pilot has gone to a metered site, so I'll put the links up to both Norfolk and Roanoke for you to use, just to head off some of the complaints I anticipate I'll get:

Coach Foster's plan is simple:

Right now, beating the Heels is all that matters.
Good quote from LT -
I think when things got tough last year, we just kind of started becoming individuals, Thomas said. And this year weve stuck together as a group and as a team and when things get tough, weve just been able to rely on each other to get us out of jams.
Weve been able to do so thus far, and I think thats just one of the big reasons is were all so close that we understand each other and were all willing to put it on the line for each other.
Noticed that too. Seemed very reminiscent of the 2010 team.
I love this team more and more and the Grimes effect:
Also I have to say that I was critical of Wang last year, but he's proving that I was misguided since it seems he was lacking coaching and was in the wrong position. Reading things like this make me feel even better about him. Kid is a warrior along with the rest of this team:
Amazing what a competent coach has done with this line, particularly David Wang. Just think what he'll be able to do with players given time to mature under his tutelage?
It makes me tingle in my no-no spots. But seriously, Grimes is legit. Loeffler is legit. Moorehead is showing that he can make this group improve. I love the hires.
They are fantastic improvements. I was critical of the diminishing rushing game after Alabama. I understood the injuries, but we ran well against Bama. Then I saw how decent the rush defense of ECU and Marshall was against other teams. So I love the fresh air on the sideline, should be a good year.
Andy Bitter is the Joe Friday of Virginia Tech football, "just the facts, ma'am." But, of course, with a little more reality thrown it. Seem to be calling it the way you see, not the way you want it. Compared to Brill Bill, or was it Bill Brill, .....
Keep 'em coming.
Andy, you are straight up owning the trolls in the comment section. Another great article, thanks!
This is the first time I've looked the comment section on AB's blog and seriously you should just shut it down Andy. People really need to get a life. I'm going to apologize on behalf of the human race that you have to deal with that on a daily basis. You are better than having to do that.
I saw on Colbert the other night that YouTube is changing the comment policy, and just read an article about Popular Science shutting down comments altogether. Comments sections only briefly existed as non-bot, non-troll areas, and that was more than a decade ago. It was going to come to this. Back in the day I responded to trolls, but eventually decided it wasn't worth it.
If you ever go to the CT's website, you'll see that 95% of the comments on there are bots/spam. It's ridiculous.
People need to get a life. (note: I get the irony of me posting this with 3k+ turkey legs)
Represent
Wait, there's life outside TKP?
Nope. It's all a lie. Everything you need is confined within this web domain.
Well, that's certainly a relief and confirms what I thought. I mean, what else do you need? TKP has news, comedy, sports, and even a weekly weather report.
Hell who needs TV? We have plenty of drama in some of the topics too!
Truth.
Plus 1 turkey leg for irony, welcome to 3500.
Thanks, as I was posting I was laughing to myself and decided I should just go ahead and call myself out for it.
I had a life.
Then I found TKP.
So on balance...
.
.
.
Shut up. I'll get this...
Welcome to TKP, enjoy the Kool-Aid, we all do :-)
Now if I could just get my wife and kids to drink it too...
That's how you run a website Andy. Nice job!
From the comment section (Roanoke):
Did this guy forget that we faced Alabama's pass rush, and Thomas was only sacked once and threw one INT that was more Coles's fault?
Did this guy also forget that UNC places as much emphasis on defense as GT does on the TE position?
He's a GT fan. That automatically makes his opinion irrelevant.
I knew there had to be a sensible explanation.
Barry is among my most idiotic frequent commenters.
hahahahaha. I just read through some of the comments, you're like a baby sitter. It's pretty funny.
Jeez I hope your boss is cool with this because I absolutely love it.
That he is among the most idiotic is also pretty telling.
Barry is a complete disaster haha good for a laugh though!
Andy, I admire the way you run a benevolent dictatorship.
I like to consider myself an enlightened despot.
+1 political science. Andy, you are the man.
I can live with that. Great job!
Barry makes me laugh, he is an innocuous troll, deluded, but harmless.
Barry, as Andy mentioned above, is an idiot, and an embarrassment to the Georgia Tech fan base. I have met some classy Bees fans and they would be appalled at some of the things he posts.
You just can't get him to see your side of an argument. I have flat out owed him. I even went so far to post statistics comparison when FSU and GT were playing in the ACCCG, and he pooh-poohed my post saying that can't decide the game on paper. I told him the X-factor was Tevin Washington's penchant for throwing game-ending interception.
Boom! It happened exactly as I had predicted.
What did the dude do? He come back and say, "We were one play away from winning."
I wanted to reach through my computer monitor and smack him so hard Sam Rogers would only approve.
Edit: I went hunting through McFarling blog for the post and couldn't find it.
Well that's what Beamer would probably say. That's what it was all last year. "One or two plays go the other way and we get the win."
I generally don't go through the comment section on Andy's posts, but I went and looked after seeing this post. Andy is a VERY patient soul. If it had been me, I would have shut the comments down totally many moons ago.
Same. How Andy puts up with them I don't know.
It's cause Andy Bitter is the Sam Rogers of journalism.
It sucks that I can only upvote this once.
There simply has to be a meme for this.
Yea that Jennie...oh my. Glad AB laid a Sam Rogersesqe smackdown on her.
