Javon Harrison - Florida

Word on the street is that Florida is making leeway on Harrison to flip him. He visited during the Tennessee game, and admitted that they are "moving up".

Hope we don't lose that kid.

I hope we dont lose him and we can get reavis in his ear, he seems to be our best recruiter lol.

I'd hope we can keep him, too. That's a big guy for a DB. Plus, we'll be losing Fuller IV and Facyson in two or three years, soo...

Really?! I'm happy to hear that, I just see him listed as a DB on rivals.

I have a bad feeling about this one, hope we keep him.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

Yeah, whenever I see someone coming in at a position of depth and then they get a look from a bigger school that's closer to home, I tend to think they're bailing on the verbal. Hope he stays.

When an SEC team starts taking a recruit seriously, you know there's a good chance they can flip him.

I will be saying extra prayers and taking extra vitamins that the Hokies can land him. He will start right away at VT if the Hokies land him. He is a big time vertical threat and playmaker.

see losing a FL kid to FL in normal circumstances, but Muschamp is at at the end of his rope. I don't know why they didn't fire him after this season. 1 more subpar season then he's gone.

Correy

Florida will probably wait to fire him until after Signing Day.

agreed .. not sure what the lure is there, other than staying close to home. florida's offense is practically as bad as VT's right now ... the difference is that their roster is packed with 4 and 5* prospects. they have far fewer excuses.

Their offense is actually worse than Tech's.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

I thought FSU was on him hard as well, which is a totally different situation.

So, I'm curious as to VT's take on this.
When word gets out that another program is moving in, what is our response?
Does Frank get in the plane and have a little face time, does Morehead start showing up after school, etc?
I know this happens a lot, but I'd like to see some fight.

Frank's only got one shot to actually do an in-home visit. I'm sure they've been calling him pretty regularly anyway.

We need this guy.

Harrison had his Official Visit to UF this weekend. I'm prepared for bad news.

He had two unofficials at Florida before this last visit. Still has an official to VT. Seems his daughter may be the biggest influence to stay close to home. He is still commited, but well see how this shakes out.

Fellas he has a kid in Fla and an uncle with some pretty bad health problems. If he stays close to home its because he needs to be around his family. But he wants to get away from all the problems and the influences there and he is VERY close to torrian gray so he may stay. Just have some faith

I'm reading on another site that he was less then enthusiastic by this last trip to Florida.

As far as FSU is concerned, they will return 7 WRs for 2014. They already have 2 WR commits for 2014, with 4 more with solid or better interest. But, they are a childhood favorite - that's something of a concern.

Fsu isn't even pursuing him. They have backed off. VT is still pushing for this kid more than anyone

Source?

Its either between florida and Vt from what ive seen. Rivals is my source

247 says otherwise

Rivals is wayy more consistant than 247. Some have their own opinions.

From Gatorbait:

Floridas wide receivers coach Joker Phillips has been working on Virginia Tech commit Javon Harrison since he arrived in Gainesville last offseason. The Gators have never been able to get over the hump with Harrison despite his many visits to Gainesville. Even after the Kathleen High standouts official visit to UF this past weekend, Harrison still has Florida trailing Virginia Tech and Florida State. Prognosis: Floridas proximity to home does not seem to be enough right now to overcome people close to Harrison who are helping him with this decision. Virginia Tech assistant Torrian Gray is a Kathleen alum and one they trust, while Florida State seems to be where their fandom is at. Maybe January brings momentum for Florida, but nothing in the past indicates that it will.

Torian Gray could make Tiny Tim into Mary Lou Retton.

Likely so, but I am really struggling with this visual.

They definitely don't look stable right now. They just lost two quarterbacks and we may have a 5 man race for the job. Maybe I'm just being the eternal optimist but I really think we're building a head of steam on recruiting and rebuilding right now.

Well we also have a 5 man race for the QB job...
