Awesome Games Done Quick is a charitable event marathon that benefits Prevent Cancer Foundation which runs from January 7th to January 14th. The marathon has speed runners complete games as quickly as possible with certain criteria such as Any% Glitchless, Any%, 100% Glitchless, 100%, etc., they run any games that came out since the Nintendo Entertainment System to games that came out this year.

Thanks for this. I've never watched live streams, but I do follow their Youtube channel. They do an event in the summer as well.
Maybe I'll carve out some time to watch live this year.
Hype to see zfg's latest 100% Ocarina of Time route at a GDQ. He's nearing sub 4:10 territory.
Oh yeah, I saw he just recently got a WR with 7th try dampe, it feels like 4:10 is imminent. Can't wait to hear him give commentary about the new route
4 hours and 10 minutes, right? Not 4 minutes and 10 seconds? I don't think you can cross the map in OoT in less than 4 minutes.
This case with ZFG's 100 percent it is 4 hours and 10 minutes, but it is possible to finish OoT around 5 minutes by using a glitch in the Deli Tree after defeating Gohma which ZFG has done before.
These events are always so fun. Seeing these games just get destroyed makes me feel like an idiot, but I'm still interested and impressed.
Ah, time for me to have really strong motivation to get back to speedrunning for about a week and a half, and then quit again.
What I'm excited for is Final Fantasy IV Any% no CW (tried to find what CW means, couldn't find what it means) since it's in my top 3 of FF games, FF IV is tied for second with FF VII and I consider FF VI as my favorite.
