VT 2014 RECRUITING

question for all you recruting gurus...

Lets just say UVA ends the season with a terrible record, does anyone see andrew brown decommiting from the CAVs?

Maybe if London is fired.

Maybe when London is fired we can hire him to work the security detail for players on our team receiving threats...

Onward and upward

Oh jeez if we ended up hiring him for a security position after UVA I'll melt in laughter.

Yeah, only if London gets fired. I think Blanding and Brown only want to go there because of London.

Agreed that it would take London getting fired. If he was that concerned about winning he wouldnt have chosen UVA in the first place.

This. I think it's a combination of him liking London and being close with Turtle (cousins I believe). I can see him decommiting if London is fired, but no way for Blanding.

Yeah and we'll see if Corwin Cutler goes to UVA after prepping for a year. I think he's a FUMA kid too. Should Cutler leave then there's another reason for Brown to look elsewhere.

IDK, a pretty terrible year (back to back) if that doesn't get you fired, it places you on a pretty hot seat - and instills a lot of uncertainty. I wouldn't want to go there if there was a good chance the head coach would be gone in another year or two.

Fortune Favors the Bold

in an Interview with Andrew Brown London Pitched the " lets rebuold a program and turn this around" and Andrew Brown really seemed convinced that he could turn UVA into a ACC powerhouse. This is the EXACT same pitch that London used for ELI HAROLD in 2011

It just seems to me that they are rebuilding their plans to rebuild.

terrific time for the UVA cycle inforgraph

Five star get after it 100 percent Juice Key-Playing. MAN

You mean the fail chart?

FAIL

I can still remember this dialog as if I'm watching it on TV.

If UVA's season turns out as bad as we think it might, then there is a possibility of recruits backing away from their previous verbals. I really don't think London's going to survive under those circumstances.

But, being as cynical as I am, I believe UVA would hold on to London until after Signing Day to ensure that certain top-rated recruits stay in the fold.

UNC did the same thing with Butch Davis. They fired him after Signing Day 2011 so they were able to hang on to some highly touted recruits like Travis Hughes, Landon Turner, Kiaro Holts and Marquise Williams. All 4 of those guys had VT in their top 2 or 3, so it would have been interesting to see where they would have landed if Davis had been fired at the end of the 2010 season.

I prefer they keep their recruits and their coach.

agreed. I want kids that want to be Hokies.

^ this!

@AMB4VT

I think Nnadi is going to be the better DT anyway! C'mon Derrick you know you want to pull the trigger for the Orange and Chicago Maroon!

Ricky Walker would be a nice DT too.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

Yeah, with Nnadi (my favorite recruit in this class) and Walker, I wouldn't want to give Brown a sniff.
On a side note, I hope the Hoos keep Time(out)Cop for EVER.

What's Important Now
The Lunchpail.
The Hammer.
BeamerBall.

How can you not love a line with Dadi, Nnadi, Walker, and Ekanem. It's so much fun to say.

Note: It would been even better with a Hand, Dadi, Nnadi, Walker.

I'm wondering if Hand may change his mind due to the success we're having on defense (hopefully we continue the trend). I'm still not buying the "They don't offer my major" crap.

I think Hand was just trying to be nice to us by offering the excuse: "They don't offer my major".

It's kind of like when you tell a girl "I want to date you, but I don't think your father approves of me; and I respect him to much to go against his wishes." Translation: "I never want to see you again. Please don't stalk me."

Imagine a D line with Teller, Brown, Hand, Nnadi......thats a juggernaut

Teller plays O-Line now. Unless he switches back next year, in which case the move this year was totally freakin pointless.

There's just something mildly confusing about a title that says "VT 2014 RECRUITING" and then focuses solely on UVA recruits.

I hate that hokie fans even care what goes on in hooville. The hoos are irrelevant.. So I don't talk to them or about them. And I especially hate it when we talk about highschool kids that chose UVA.. Because they became irrelevant as soon as they signed LOLUVA LOI. I'll never understand a kid who wants to play football in one the best college settings or football settings in the country and actually win games would ever chose UVA over VT. I remember when I use to care because i thought they were a rivalry. Now I just laugh about it.

The problem is UVA is stealing and wasting players who could help VT win a national title. UVA is the ultimate troll program.

i could really care less, from all reports i have seen he takes plays off. Not sure I want that type of player coming to the lunch pail d.

That's a pretty common complaint of high school and college linemen, to be fair. Teams generally don't have the depth to rotate so the stars end up playing too many snaps. They end up coasting on plays where the play goes away from them. VT offered him and went after him pretty hard so I don't think Bud is terribly concerned.

I feel like that it a common complaint of some top college athletes in general. I remember when Percy Harvin was a senior, I went to one of the regional games and you could pretty much tell when he wasn't getting the ball because he basically walked his route and didn't block much on run plays. I think he is doing alright for himself nowadays nonetheless.

Come on now, it takes a few dozen losing seasons to build a dynasty. I mean everyone knows that!
