Is this event supposed to be for coaches to talk to fans about the latest recruiting class or is this for HS players interested in Tech to come hear from a coach?

Am I the only one confused as to why this is scheduled BEFORE signing day? This prevents them from talking about anyone that signs their NLI on Feb 7, right?
I had a similar thought as Charlotte's is the 29th. I assume it has to do with scheduling the coaches.
Kind of disappointing though now knowing that Dax is likely to announce on or near NSD - won't get to hear Shibest discuss his recruitment.
You're correct. All of the Hokie Club Recruiting Nights are in mid to late January this year - it's when the coaches were available for the events. Perhaps will be different next year, but the Hokie Club chapters don't have control over the coaches' schedules. The good news is most of the class signed in the early signing period so the coaches will be able to talk about most of the class - with the notable exceptions we know about.
Ill be there too.
If you're a HS player you could always come and talk with coach at the event.
have heard the video is different this year. So if you've been in past years, the format of the video should be different.
It will be an interesting dynamic how questions on the remaining targets go. Bc you know the questions are coming, but they're not supposed to talk about them. Maybe the "the kid from Shelby"....

yep, there will probably be several people that recap the main points. Hopefully nobody does a 100% transcript, or at least not until a while after the whole tour is done. These events are pretty big fundraisers for the various Hokie Club chapters and we should all try to not scoop them too hard if we want Hokies Football/Athletics to be successful.
I have posted notes on the coaches comments on the signees in the past, but unfortunately I won't be there this year.
Usually the signee comments are brief, but of varying degrees of laudatory. About as negative as it gets is that a player needs a year in the weight room or something like that. I refrained from, say, posting contemporaneously that Coach Cav termed Louisville "that Citadel of Learning" or there weren't tears of sorrow when a certain VA DL went to Bama instead of VT.
I also did post when you could tell a coach was genuinely excited about a player - like Wiggins last year about Caleb Farley or when Stinespring said he kept showing pictures of Duane Brown to Nijman (so if you believe he was recruited as a DL, think again...).
Wish I could go - they've usually been on Thursday night in the past and I'm usually on the road for work M-Th afternoon so I can't do Tuesday.
I'll be there. Wiggins can't quite match Cav as a host (who can?) for these, but he's close. Wiggins hosting this event 2 years ago is what really sold me on Fuente / the new staff.
