Clearly a lot of you have figured out how to include objects (meme's, photos, etc) with your posts but I have no clue how to do it. I'm sure that I'm not alone! Would really appreciate your guidance so that I, too, can join in the fun of sharing creative content. Thanks!

I've learned the hard way...
but, the easiest way to post pictures is to copy and paste the HTML code off imgur. and if you want to post videos you also need to get the HTML code
takes a lot of practice/trial & error, but once you get the hang of it it becomes second nature
OK, so do I need to use their content or do I use their service to embed mine (i.e., I have to upload my stuff to them to down load to TKP)? Sorry, novice here. Thanks for responding.
yes, you use their service to upload your content, then they give you an HTML code which should allow your image/whatever to be visible here on TKP
much better explanation on how things got their start -> http://www.thekeyplay.com/content/2011/august/28/mascot-mock-faq
If it's already something made that you aren't editing and making your own and needing a host (like imgur.com) then you can just copy the Web address/URL and click on the camera icon above your post on TKP, paste the URL, add a title and then click OK. The KISS method. Keep It Simple, Stupid.
I've done this, and the picture never shows up. What am I doing wrong???
You need to make sure that the URL you are using end in a valid image file extension. So .png, .jpg, .gif, or others. Ones that end in anything else will not work.
The HTML embed code that imgur provides doesn't even require you to use the camera icon markup that TKP provides. From imgur, just copy and paste exactly what it gives you, unless you want to resize it.
For simple image embedding, the HTML is fairly easy to concoct yourself:
Enclose that in < > and you're done. Image embedding is one of the first lessons in most HTML tutorials, so they're easy to Google for.
Make sure you enclose it in < and /> on the opposite end, not just >.
I never use /> ... what's the difference?
EDIT: I think /> only matters if you are specifying alt or title text. To simply embed an image without title, alt, or link specifications, you shouldn't need />, just > at the end.
Fair enough. Basically, markup languages like HTML and XML, use tags to denote the modifiers you can use after it. For an image, the tag is "img" and the modifier is "src." Some tags have other options that can go within it, specifically when using text formatting. The "/" denotes that you are closing that tag. So you could write a line without a "/>" at the end, include all of your lines and then put "< / tag >" at the end of the block. If it's just a one line statement, you can put "< tag modifier="text" />" and that would mean the end of that statement.
Cool, thanks. I learned HTML many years ago and kept everything I did fairly primitive.
Just ask yourself, "What would Sam Rogers do?"
That just opens up 6 lane-wide highways of clarity on pretty much everything.
Thanks to everyone for your direction. I'll give it a shot. Turkey Legs for you all!
Success! Here's my "art" for Joe's article on LOLUva: Oregon....Hope you like it:

I don't always use the 'most interesting man in the world meme', but when I do, I start it with 'I don't always...'.
Haha. Just busting you up, Chicago. Glad you got the imbed to work!
How about this?
One more question! I tried embedding a URL from gifsoup.com using the link option but it didn't work. Thought on that?
