Excellent write-up! Well worth the time to read!
Soooo excited!
Can't wait for this guy to get to campus.
Especially after reading this, I am so excited about the future of Virginia Tech Football! We seem to be headed in the right direction on all fronts
Love the way this guy handles himself, seems to have maturity beyond his years. I know i'll be rooting for him to succeed!
Having a HS QB go to the coach and say, We need to run this play, and having the coach have confidence in him to say go run it and have it work shows he is a true study of the game. I am excited to see him in the burg
Coming soon, to a practice field near Blacksburg:

AF: Hey there. I was looking for Coach L. I wanted to discuss the gameplan for Saturday. I've got a few ideas after watching film on their tendencies.
BS: Andy! Just the man I was looking for. [looks around furtively, then reached into pocket and pulls out a damp and rumpled napkin] Here are the first 10 plays. We've got it all scripted out for you. If everyone executes perfectly, we cannot fail!!
AF: [holding napkin as if it might have been used as a snot rag] Scripted? I don't -- is that mustard? Please tell me it's mustard. Scripted??? Coach -- What if the defense lines up to counter these plays?
BS: ...
BS: ...
BS: ...
AF: You know, if when I go under center, and it's obvious the defense has the right set called against us?
BS: [eyes starting to glaze] Derp. First 10 plays. Scripted. Execute?
Andrew_ben-Kenobi: [sighs, as if speaking to a slow child, then waving hand] These aren't the plays you are looking for.
BS: errrr... Thees ah, aren't. The plays. Looking. for?
Lefty: STINESPRING!!! What have I told you about talking to the Quarterback! Or any other player? Get back to the press box and don't come out again until you run out of crayons!
BS: Bu... but it's Monday. Meesa no wanna sit in press box anymore... oh LOOKSIE! It's Calvin. I go coachies him up good!
Lefty: No. Press Box. Now. NO!...BAD Stinespring! MOOOREHEAD! SIC him!
Moorehead: On it! [turns JUGS up to "PLAID" and aims it at BS running arms akimbo toward Klein.
AF to CL: [holding up napkin as they head down the field] You know... there's really only 3 plays on here. And two of them look like a stick man and a stick dog playing tug-of-war.

+1 for Spaceballs reference
+1 for the glorious mashup
I can't take the credit for that, I managed to find this out on the interwebs.
But +1 for the +1
The sad part is from everything I've heard and read, Stiney is a good positions coach. He was just over his head and Frank would not demote him.
I..just..died! Hilarious!
Before I read your post again and roll on the floor with laughter, I'm just happy we have an OC who can recruit (and land) a good HS QB. Logan is playing QB because BS missed on every QB talent in Virginia. Most of the ACC has been led by Virginia HS QBs (NC St had two, not to mention out-of-state programs like Penn St and Stanford) and we missed out on EVERY SINGLE ONE.
I guess that Jar-Jar voice can only take you so far when in comes to landing a talented HS QB.
A few of those we missed on because we already had Tyrod in the fold. No premiere QB wants to come in behind someone who still has multiple years left and is obviously the starter. We did start to miss out towards the end of Tyrod's career (thus Logan to QB, as you say), but some of those we missed out on: Kevin Newsome - Penn State, no longer there and no longer playing football, I believe. Lafonte Thourogood - Vanderbilt, moved to RB after being like, 5th string QB, then transferred to JMU. So, it's not like even if we had 'hit' on those, we would have had a great solution. It just is sometimes, I guess. I like where our QB recruiting is going with Loeffler though!
Different situations breeds different results. It may not be true 100% of the time, but I do believe that there are times where someone has the "it" factor, but just didn't pick the right school, is struggling with things outside of school, and who knows how many other things that go through an 18 to 21 year olds mind.
It's great that we'll soon be connected with a QB who will be all-time adored.
Is he planning on enrolling early? Can't remember
Yes, he plans to enroll in January
I never thought I'd say these words:
Thank you Chad Henne!
It's nice to have an OC with a good track record.
*whistle* That is damned good.
