Not a pretty season for us, at all.

Geeze Wilson with a neck injury and Vick is hurt too.

An Eagles fan friend of mine from a long line of Hokies, was talking of us going to The Linc for the October 27th game. That's hostile territory no matter when, but I'm not sure I can justify spending the money at all this season.

Saw this on yahoo and figured it would be here. If Coughlin puts him in the doghouse some more, he could always try out for the Olympics.

David will be out against the bears Thursday night. Neck injuries are never good.

The best thing (sarcasm font) is that in the Buzzfeed GIF post from this week, they imply that the backflip caused his neck injury. Dumb. More like BUTTFEED.

@historyhokie.bsky.social

My favorite part of this GIF (aside from Wilson making gymnastics actually look bad ass) is definitely the ref's mesmerized reaction in the background.

David Wilson sees your David Wilson double backflip, and raises you a David Wilson 21-backflip.

Impressive

I love DW and wish him much success but I just hate that this stuff goes on after scoring. Can't players just act like they've been there before and simply run back to the sidelines. I know, I know there's entertainment value, etc, etc but this stuff is the reason I simply do not watch much professional sports anymore! Probably going to get down voted for this but IDGAS just my opinion.

"They've done studies you know, 60% of the time it works every time!"

Barry Sanders had, I think one celebration. He handed the ball to the ref.

Absolutely! Had the chance to play golf with him about 6 years ago and what a classy guy in person he is as well.

I remember Jim Brown....just tossed the ball to the ref, ran over to the sidelines. I miss that kind of mindset. Act like you've been there before, and that you'll be back.

Take the shortest route to the ball and arrive in bad humor.

This!

Logan Thomas just flips the ball to the ref as well, I like that.

When I approved your account I saw something called the "O'Shag/Pritchard Mattress War of '88" in your most memorable moment. You will need to start a forum topic and give a detailed explanation of that to everyone on the site. I am extremely curious.

Yea I'm now very intrigued at this mattress war you speak of

UVA: Jefferson's biggest mistake

@pbowman6

Lee claims to have been a participant in the war as well.

I missed the war by a few months, but did get to enjoy the spoils in '89.

I'm starting to this that Joe is an alias for NSA. He's everywhere. He can delete posts, he knows about all of us, he's in our brains. Ah well, a small price to pay to be on the greatest fan forum in the world, TKP.

people were still talking about this when I arrived in the early 90s...I don't know details but yea please divulge. I remember something about the courtyard and mattress fires.

I think its just DW4's personality. He gets excited about playing the game and is already a really energetic player. I still remember him "galloping" into the endzone on a couple of his big KR return touchdowns. Maybe its a generational thing, but I like it when athletes have that kind of passion, when they get excited about the game. I honestly don't see it any differently than a Lambo Leap.

It bothers me when seasoned offensive vets go crazy after reaching the end zone. DW hasn't really been given that much of a chance so he can celebrate when he gets there, he earned it. Same thing with defensive players, you get a pick six or a fumble return go and do flip.

I agree as well - I have no problem seeing a bunch of players celebrating together after a score, but hand the ball to the ref and celebrate with your teammates. Football is a team sport, 9 times out of 10 there were ten other guys who helped you get to the endzone. Don't draw all the attention to yourself with showboating.

That being said - backflips are impressive to an uncoordinated person like me.

There's always a lighthouse. There's always a man. There's always a city.

those two that he did were particularly impressive...in pads and helmet, effortless, feet planted and landed in the same spot.

I also say keep it simple, but man, backflips is what DW do! (sorry for the lack of grammar, just seemed to flow better this way) Not like he just came up with this when he hit the NFL endzone, his "dance" is well established.
