VT - UT Depth Chart

I know we should be worrying about Pitt this weekend and I'm still very excited about this season and what it can bring, but I can't stop thinking about the Moonshine Bowl. Anyone wanna make a potential depth chart type of thing? I know it's hard to predict but thought it could be fun.

All I know is that by that time our staff should have "their guys" and that should be good. Especially Grimes. Also for Ford or Bucky, they would have multiple seasons under their belt.

We'll have three more recruiting classes by that time, so the true freshmen today will be seniors by then if they stick around (pray4fuller)

I can't get this game off my mind either! Bristol's going nuts right now.

Like I said in the other thread, if I were Brandon Facyson or Kendall Fuller I would stick around just for this game! Haha. We have the FAB5 offense guys that we recruited, CJ Reavis, Andrew Ford... Hm.

Yea, this game might end up being a reason for some of the guys to stick around when they wouldn't otherwise, who knows. We also play ND that year too!

If McLaughlin sticks around, he will be a senior with 3 seasons under his belt and Teller should be starting by then too. (Assuming the Teller to OT hype is real.) Having 2 solid OT's would be so critical.

And most importantly, Sam Rogers will be a senior and will be in his final form.....

Sam Rogers will be 250lbs of twisted steel and sex appeal!

"They've done studies you know, 60% of the time it works every time!"

Let's get optimistic here and assume we keep Brandon and Kendall for all 4 years. Same with guys like Sam Rodgers and Jonathan McGlock. Current freshmen will be seniors then.

QB: Bucky Hodges or Andrew Ford with one full year starting experience.
RB: Marshawn Williams and who knows, maybe Trey Edmunds will stick around.
FB: Bruce Banner
WR: Javon Harrison (hoping he keeps his commitment), Cameron Jordan, Josh Stanford
OL: Some combination of McGlock, Teller, Osterloh, Pfaff, Smith and the Fab 5 with enough depth and experience to be confident. This is my favorite spot on this hypothetical roster. It seems deeper and more talented than any O-Line I've seen at Tech.

CB: Fuller, Faycson and does anyone doubt we'll find a capable third guy to play nickel? maybe Riley
Safety: CJ Reavis and (I dearly hope) Holland Fisher
LB: This is a question mark, but there are a few big recruits who, if they get grades in shape and commit, could lock down this spot for 4 years. Jay Payton is a name to watch.
DT: Walker and hopefully Nandi
DE: We'll have to see how this shakes out, but Mihota should be legit. I feel like I'm missing someone here

That is a pretty lineup. There's a solid amount of planning fallacy here, since I'm taking the goal and claiming it as the baseline, but unreasonable speculation is fun. Damn I am psyched for this game and the season for that matter.

Exactly what I wanted!! Thank You!

Couple things:
1. I think you mean Cameron Phillips for WR
2. Don't forget Kyle Chung on the OL.
3. Don't think Riley will be around then. Maybe Terrell Edmunds, Cequan Jefferson, Charles Clark or Greg Stroman develops by then?
4. The 2 safeties you named are what I would bet but Shegog could be a dark horse.
5. At DE, Seth Dooley could be opposite of Mihota. Or one of the highly rated '15 guys we might pick up.

I agree with you that OL is what I'm most excited about. Can't wait!!

What's Important Now
The Lunchpail.
The Hammer.
BeamerBall.

Hopefully he'll let me live despite my spelling error. If you don't hear from me again, just know I deserved it.

Aaron Rogers needs the "D"

Onward and upward

Yeah, I meant Phillips not Jordan, although if the Saints' defensive end wants a scholarship I say we give him a shot.

Hypothetical UT coordinator:

"Oh good, Sam Rogers isn't on the team anymore!"

-What we do is, if we need that extra push, you know what we do? -Put it up to fully dipped? -Fully dipped. Exactly. It's dork magic.

Possibly Shai Mckenzie at running back as well.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

DE Ken Ekanem, Seth Dooley
LB Devin VD, Deon Clarke, Andrew Motuapuaka, Jamieon Moss
DT Nigel Williams, Woody Baron, Ricky Walker (maybe Mihota)
S Anthony Shegog, Chuck Clark

'Its easy to grin, when your ship comes in, and you've got the stock market beat,
but the man worthwhile, is the man who can smile, when his shorts are too tight in the seat'

Oh wow, I guess I forgot that Ekanem, Clarke and Williams are freshmen. Yeah they have to be in the lineup.

Isn't Clarke a sophomore?

In rough form, all the freshman we are playing right now will be seniors. So, in addition to those listed:

Nigel Williams, Baron, Ekanem, Motley, Caleb, DerWoun Greene, Wright, Mangus, Ludwig, Dooley, DVD, Windmuller, DAntuno, Conte, Meyer, Alford, Cline......

Carlis Parker has a high ceiling too. I hope he settles in by then.

Hopefully we add more 5 star guys by then..having 3 or 4 can make a dream season. Just look at the difference LT3 and Fuller make having them on the field.
