David Wilson unsure if spinal stenosis is a career-threatening condition. There are players who can continue to play despite the condition
For those of you unfamiliar with stenosis, here is a good article on it.

Damn...
Oh no. Hope things turn out for the best for you, David.
No, man... that's heart breaking.
I hope everything turns out alright.
Spinal stenosis is an abnormal narrowing of the spinal canal resulting in pain, numbness, paraesthesia, and loss of motor control. Scary stuff :( Prayers.
So is this something he's had for some time now or is this new? Sounds like a non-football injury that doesn't just come out of nowhere.
Hope it doesn't end his career.
He was injured last Sunday while playing the Eagles, and after an MRI, they found the Stenosis. He could have had it his entire career, but its possible that he got it from playing. It is something that not a ton of people realize they have.
I'd forgotten this
:(
I think depending on the severity, the length of time can range from minimal to career ending. I think of career ending fame, besides ending Suggs' i guess, the most known player (or not player) who ended their football career because of it was Cooper Manning, who never even played a down in college because of it. Also Michael Irvin ended his 12 year pro career after a diagnosis of the condition. On the other side, there was Jarvis Jones, who was diagnosed with it during his senior year at UGA, and still ended up being a first round pick this year, and has seen a fair amount of time. So it all could depend on the severity of his condition.
Hopefully it's not severe, but either way this is rotten news :(
Jarvis Jones has it IIRC, let's hope for the best for DMFW22
Spinal Stenosis is what prevented Cooper Manning (Peyton and Eli's older brother) from playing college football. Let's hope it doesn't end David Wilson's career too.
David and Coughlin are both thinking it isn't too serious. David thinks he will be back this week, Coughlin thinks it will be a month. Also David has basically said he will play no matter what, this is what he loves, it is a sacrifice he wants to make, etc. It will be interesting to see how this develops. Apparently he tried to sneak on the field before they took his MRI at the stadium.
Welcome to my world except like most of us, I was never an elite anything- everything hurts when you're over 50 and stenosis is basically arthritis of the spine. After the progression of x-rays, physical therapy, MRI and surgery you realize that time is the biggest enemy we all face. I hope this issue isn't a serious issue for DMFW. He's a beast.
Shit..wish him the best but should have stayed another year for better draft stock..hope it's not serious.
Better draft stock? He was a first round pick and went to the Super Bowl Champions. Pretty sweet gig, if you ask me.
nah he was smart to come out when he did. His draft stock was fine, but RBs have the shortest shelf life in the NFL because they get hit so much. Sure there are a few backs who can stay in the league for 8-10+ years like Frank Gore Willis McGahee, Steven Jackson but there aren't many of them.
Why do injuries always seem to happen to our players that go pro?
Because we are the ones who keep track of them? Injuries happen to everyone in the NFL...the only time I pay attention enough to remember them for long periods of time is if they were a Hokie, or a Redskins player.
ESPN is reporting he won't need surgery for the time being. No time table on his return.
