Virginia Tech Football Recruiting: Norell Pollard Commits to the Hokies

Tech taps the Sunshine State to add a defensive tackle to its 2019 recruiting class.

Virginia Tech added its first defensive lineman to its 2019 recruiting late Monday night. Defensive tackle Norell Pollard accelerated a planned July 1 commitment and opted for the Hokies over fellow finalists Central Florida, Rutgers, Duke, West Virginia, Indiana, Louisville, and N.C. State.

"Last but not least I want to thank all the schools that have recruited me thus far and wish nothing but the best for their programs," Pollard tweeted. "It was a hard process but I found my home."

The 247Sports Composite ranks the 6-2, 265 pound Wekiva HS (Apopka, FL) standout as a 3-star (0.8696) SDE.

Pollard is fresh off an "amazing" June 10 weekend Virginia Tech visit.

Hopefully we can pull two more DT in this class to let this kid redshirt and run laps between D2, the bathroom, and the weight room.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

Off topic, but I just watched the most recent Thor for the first time. God it is sooooo much better than the previous two Thor movies.

So much humor, great visuals, and Thor isn't so dang serious in it. And it has Goldblum which is an automatic plus.
