Virginia Tech added seven verbal committments to its 2019 recruiting class in June, and the Hokies didn't waste any time on the recruiting trail in July. William Pritchard opted for the Hokies over fellow finalists Tennessee, James Madison, Syracuse, and Illinois.

The 247Sports Composite rates the 6-3, 290 pound Manchester HS product as a 3-star (0.8333) offensive guard. Though that rank is currently devoid of input from 247Sports and ESPN; it only considers Rivals, the only service to rank Pritchard at this time.
Star power aside, the bottom line is in a recruiting cycle with very tight numbers Virginia Tech thought enough of Pritchard after an in-person evaluation to offer him a scholarship.

Great picture of him glad we got him . Like him better than the prospect from Ga .Exciting times on the way, love the brand that we are building with Whitt ,Fuentes and Buzz and others .
That's huge. That gives us the resources to finish out this class and make solid headway in next year while other teams are still fighting to fill up this years class.
Hokie recruiting lately:
(Image keeps showing broken on my phone, so the link is https://media.giphy.com/media/YG9Gv0sdvv8Dm/giphy.gif for anyone curious.)
Always glad to see more beef. Illinois fans (I know, right?) on Twitter seemed pretty convinced he would be heading to the midwest.
I can't wait for this kid to get in a College weight room with Weight/strength coach, he'll bulk up quickly with his frame.
Big and STRONG and nimble will be another unsung weapon on the o-line. Definitely a difference maker and CJF is building the offensive off the future.
I can't get no more out of film than the next guy, but three things stood out to me:
knee bend
choppy feet
mean streak
I like this dude.
His HUDL self description is: Thick and Quick.
Thick and quick?

Vice is killing it on the O-line recruiting trail. It's just a matter of time before a 4-star RB recruit takes notice. Maybe not this year or even next, but when the 2018 and 2019 class arrives...
Chris Tyree
Tim Baldwin
Malik Newton
Evan Pryor
Hunter Rice
I'm sure others as well
Two I would add are Blake Corum and Kaelon Black
Haven't we always been able to get low 3* OL recruits?
I think the difference is we're getting a low 3* OL recruit that fits in a spot within our system.
Also, OL recruiting is extremely difficult to project to the college level.
FTFY.
Roger that.

They are building the hell out of this offense.
One of these things is not like the others
A national championship in the last 20 years?
Sorry to be that guy but 2 have one of those (if you count FCS title)
Tennessee's title was during the 1998 season. The 20 year window ended this past season.
Really athletic kid who seems to have a "mean streak"... Also, there's not a chance he is near 290lbs.
The name that popped into my head when watching his film was Steven Moss(former 4 star that went to UVA and played like Jane there)..Moss's film was "violent" and so was Pritchard's...this kid takes no plays off it seems like..just relentless..thats what we need.
I always take those numbers with a grain of salt too. Usually recruits shrink 1-2 inches when they enroll at Tech. His coach confirmed that size though.
One of the few gifs that doesn't need words.
Thanks for the laughs.
I know French will love the way he engages in contact and continues to move his feet
A lot of the ladies would say the same about me. Giggity.

You knew we had this kid when we named a building after him.
Bold move Cotton
First, they let co-eds come into Pritchard...
