As I said in the game thread--this is typical kirk. It's a safe pick given the history, it shows he hasn't paid attention to the hokies this entire year, and it shows he is looking at the paper only. Pick safe. Pick against the ACC. Pick against the Hokies. Go Kirk!

It doesn't take a lot of research by him, or the interns or whoever is researching for them, to see what our inconsistencies are. If he had watched every game he would see that this team was never really in danger of losing the past two games (and even ECU to an extent). Each and every game including today's (17-10, 27-17, 19-9) don't look great when you look at scores and even the stats sheet, but if he watched them he would know that the hokies manhandled each team but their offensive inconsistencies have held them back.The only game I was really biting my nails for was marshall.
Kirk picked us for upset of the week and I stand by what I said--it is a safe pick for a reporter who consistently picks against the hokies, and the acc in general. Obviously we have to earn the respect that we want to see, but I think there were better teams to put on upset alert than this team we saw today. But here are 3 upset of the weeks in no particular order, that I was thinking of today:
Georgia v Missouri
Clemson v BC
Texas v Oklahoma
but picking a 24 ranked team to lose to an unranked team, where the unranked team owned the matchup for the past 13 years, just seems a bit easy to me.

I'm not butthurt over it. The paper shows it but we have struggled. The paper said we should have wiped them off the field last year but we didn't. Pitt has been looking like a decent team. Not a good or great team but decent and thats often where we struggle for some reason.

thats a great meme but it was the 06 bc game that i noticed his whole vt narrative was that we were basically a bunch of entitled thugs. maybe it was the leg stomp. ahh well fuck um.

I think he is leery of picking us. He has been on the VT wagon in the past and been burned. In fact, there is a video where a bunch of analyst roundtable, and Kirk said a lot of good and that we would be a top team that season (I'm sure someone can find the video), and we went 7-6. So can you blame him for not getting behind us yet?

like I said, he picks so safe and against a team that was inconsistent last year and somewhat this year.
ECU: losing to Alabama, beating WCU but struggling for rhythm...easy pick against us against a good ECU team.
Marshall: only 15 points against ECU, one of the better offenses in the nation, another easy pick against.
Pitt: history says we lose...kirk needs to get over it.

Savage looked more like a Vegan today. Besides, ESPN is ESPN.
Savage still looks better than Nova. the end of the Rutgers Louisville game was hard to watch.

In all fairness, Kirk is actually pretty good/fair. He even picks against his tOSU from time to time.
He does that to make himself seem less biased, not because Ohio State is (or isn't) the best pick.
