For the fourth time this cycle, Virginia Tech tapped fertile Florida for a football commitment. Defensive lineman Brandon Dorlus committed to the Hokies Thursday evening.

"It's a family atmosphere," said Dorlus at his announcement ceremony. "When I went there with my family, it really felt like it was a good school for me. They would take care of me, really good care of me."
Dorlus made a visit to Tech on Sunday and had a meeting of the minds with Justin Fuente, Bud Foster, and Charley Wiles. Dorlus recounted the conversion.
"I'll be the perfect fit for their defense in the way they treat their d-lineman," said Dorlus. "I felt like that'd be the best place for me, for me to be a better player, and be a better man after 3-4 years."
Dorlus saw his recruitment ramp up over spring. Virginia Tech, Virginia, Central Florida, Rutgers, Cincinnati, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa State, and Ole Miss all extended him a scholarship offer in May. The Sun Sentinel provided more details.
Dorlus surprised himself with his rise as a football prospect β he doubles as a basketball player β after a phenomenal spring where college coaches walked away impressed whenever they saw him at practice.
"It's been crazy because if you asked me last year 'Would I be doing this tomorrow?' I would say no," Dorlus said. "They all said they like my athleticism, how I can move on the line.
The 247Sports Composite rates Dorlus as a 3-star (0.8548) SDE. However, similar to fellow Sunshine State DL commits Mario Kendricks and Norell Pollard, the 6-3, 270 pound Deerfield Beach HS product seems destined to be an interior d-lineman for the Hokies.

Can he play for us this year? Good get for us.
Well at least he's honest
choo choo
Damn. I like it.
I don't get why this was downlegged. Tried to offset it.
+1 Me too. Someone must be #TeamRedDelicious
Ew. Why would someone be team red delicious? It's the worst apple.

Explains a lot. Same thing that happened to tomatoes. Bred to look good during shelf life, not to taste good.
I'm definitely #TeamGrannySmith
Spent the better part of my morning on IMDb learning about Natalie.
Suuure "IMDB"
Other than Goode, it seems like Wiles is definitely trending towards slightly longer DT's compared to the old "bowling ball" types. The staff must see something they like in this kid to take a 3rd DT after allegedly turning others away.
Sign me up for having a Dline across and in the 2-deep, particularly DTs, larger than 6ft 260-280lbs.
Take me back to the days of three deep:
Maddy and Marshall
Baron and Nigel Williams
Walker and Mihota
7th man: Steve Sobzcack
π© I thought we'd never run out of depth
Just my observation based on the picture above, he seems pretty "skinny" for 270 pounds. Is it possible the staff sees him as a player that can be a true monster after Hilgartification?
He has the frame and once he's done with basketball he'll be able to add weight.
No-Goode now!
doubles as a basketball player? since we're short of football schollies, can he sign for the bball team and not count towards the football scholarship limit?
This guy
Hey, the b-ball team is light on scholarship athletes....so maybe lol
If this is a serious question, the answer is that the NCAA has a hierarchy of what sports get dinged for scholarships. No player who participates in football can have his scholarship count for anything else. Next is basketball. After that, they don't care anymore. This is why devin wilson's year playing football didn't count against b-ball.
2 for 1 ?! Is that really beneficial to him and each sport? It's a lot of time to be involved in 2 sports and being a student.. It would be nice though.
I'm not advocating he plays both ways, just saying that doing so will not help our scholarship count for football.
Rules: If you play two sports and one is football, receiving a scholarship for the other sport, and playing as a walk-on for football - it counts as a football scholarship

Surprised a place like Kansas or Kentucky hasn't gamed the system and offered a stud bball player a "football" scholarship.
I'm sure William & Mary has at least one CC runner on their football team on scholarship /s

Sounds like he could be a 5 for Buzz

I like that we are getting some guys with a little "twitch" who seem to have the frame to carry some weight. Next year is going to be rough up front on D. But I'm hopeful that we are trending int he right direction for the 2020 and beyond seasons.
His potential is through the roof
As long as his roof is not the ceiling, we should be alright!
Well that was timely. His video looked good. He even recovered a fumble and you could hear the stadium announcer call his name.
Said its the place to make him a better man in 3 to 4 years. Love it.
Except replace "Noob Noob" with "bobthetomato"
What are your thoughts on him French?
