Reminded me of the greatest women's hokie athlete of my generation, Angela Tincher. Just finished watching the following video where she no-hits Team USA softball, literally right after she was the final cut to make Team USA.

Go Team USA!
Tincher is back with the Hokies staff taking over as an assistant. It's good to have her back in Blacksburg.
That was bad ass! You think she was pumped for that after being one of the last cuts?
Has to be one of the greatest upsets ever. A college team beating a pro team. And not just any pro team, the best team at what they did in the entire world. Pretty ridiculous stuff.
This. TeamUSA had never lost at that point...and she no-hit them. IIRC only two balls made it out of the infield. Most incredible sporting performance I can think of. It would be the equivalent of USA shutting out the Russians in 1980 and not allowing any shots on goal. I think the enormity of Tincher's performance is lost on any.
Not only had they not lost, I'm quite certain they were DEMOLISHING those who they played. Basically the "Dream Team" losing to college basketball team. Unreal.
According to the video, no ball made it out of the infield and only one runner reached base and that was a second inning walk. It's definitely the type of performance that probably couldn't be repeated against Team USA again. She will be a great asset for our pitchers this upcoming season.
Thanks, I'd never seen that.
She's the greatest athlete VT has ever had, and it will take a borderline miracle for someone to surpass her. To put her career in perspective, a QB would have to be an All-American/Heisman level player for three straight seasons just to approach her accomplishments.
My opinion would be she without argument is the greatest pitcher the women's team has ever had and possibly one of the 2 or 3 best in the women's college game ever but to say she is the best VT athlete of all time might be a stretch.
"virginia tech thinks they can win!" lolololololol espn
angela tincher, straight outta eagle rock, va. eff yeah!
The ESPN reporter suggested getting hit by a pitch so they could get somebody on base.
I think Tincher is an amazing Hokie, but this is the real reason why I clicked on this thread:
Yes, Hope Solo is epic, too. Soccer women are the best.
Don't forget volleyball Horse.
Speaking of soccer women....I submit for your approval...Alex Morgan

I really do enjoy the fact that it was the Hokies vs. THE ENTIRETY OF THE USA. Talk about underdogs with a chip on their shoulder. This was nothing short of a legendary performance.
