Darn, I wish VT got the Mariott. I know management there VERY well. I'm going save up my money and shoot to get a seat in the Allisons. $140 for my ticket is worth it. This is a once in a lifetime thing.
Great find!

They gave TV rights to the SEC, so the game could be on CBS. That's interesting. I don't normally pay attention to these things, but do most of the ACC contracts with SEC schools (FSU-UF, GT-UGA, CU-USCe) do the same thing?

CBS usually has US Open tennis in early September...
The $EC has the right to determine the network. If the $EC network is a huge hit by 2016, could be on there. They also could shop it, possibly to ABC/ESPN. If it's a night game, CBS could be in the running, but probably would be a third option I would imagine.

I think they will cover the upper most seats in the permanent section and add seats on track and infield, thus keeping the truly worst views out of circulation.

I would imagine some of those 20k seats aren't available because each team gets 3 suites. I really don't know how many each suite seats, but I once attended a church that held services in one of the smaller suites for a short time. There were around 100 people there for the service and the suite wasn't even half full.

I had a similar moment a year or two ago... told my friend something like "he sounds drunk" while watching a press conference or something, and he said "Dude, he has Parkinsons..." never felt so terrible in my life.

A lot of comments like that were flying in after he announced the Greenberg firing. And a lot of people felt like a-holes right after they found out. I don't think it's that bad to make fun of him when you don't know, as long as you don't keep doing it once you find out.

15) Food and Beverages;
BMS may sell alcohol during the game, provided that BMS will utilize alcohol awareness best practices for the Game, consulting with promoters for similarly situated games for guidance.

So if the Allison area is $140, what do you think the bleachers on the track will go for, $200? Also they all get 80 sideline passes, how much for one of THOSE bad boys?

What I heard was that $40 reserves a ticket for people. That may or may not be exclusive for NASCAR season ticket holders only. After that, the worst seats will be $40 with the rest being an average of about $93. Everything is just speculation since tickets aren't even near being on sale yet.

Dear Whom ever decides uniforms at this event for VT:
Please make it all maroon with a maroon VT logo helmet. Please please don't do something stupid (for example dont put a race car on our helmet, or any checkered flag design uniforms, or anything to that similar effect). Don't try to be too creative. A small commemorative patch is ok (ala bowl games) Simple maroon on maroon and standard VT logo maroon helmet. This is the biggest college football game EVER so please don't ruin it. K Thanks
This should put me over 1000 legs. Congratz to me

BMS has TONS of parking! But for the races fans park miles away on 421 and walk! It is ridiculous and so funny! Volunteer Parkway is usually where all the campgrounds are

Soooo....61,000 for BMS ticket holders...are we expecting them to get re-sold to the highest bidder? Are we expecting the normal Nascar fans to show up and pick a team, or just sit around and say they were at the biggest game? Seems to me we only have 40k "guaranteed" Hokie fans in attendance...thoughts? When I saw the total number, I thought this would be an opportune time to get some Hokie tickets. But then I remember it was hard to get seats to 65k Lane Stadium unless visitors returned their allotment.
Edit: yes, I understand the local BMS regulars will also be from SW VA & Tennessee, but still seems like it would be hit or miss on the crowd makeup!

They do this for all neutral site games and it things even out pretty well. My dad is a Skins season ticket holder and gets first dibs on all college games at DreadEx Field.

Tech gets the Holiday Inn, Tenn gets the Marriott.

How awesome would it be if Tennessee wore orange jerseys and we wore maroon? The contract has that as an option.
160,000 in orange and maroon ;)
I personally love when both teams where their colored jersey. It always looks good in the USCw - UCLA game.
Credit goes to Andy Bitter and some Tenn writer for getting this.
Nothing like good ole FOIA law...

Most of those games are home and home so I doubt it. As for neutral site that would be something to look at.
Does ESPN have TV rights to the SEC as well? I'm unsure how their ESPN/CBS split works...
Not sure if I'm 100% correct, but CBS gets to pick any SEC matchup. ESPN/ABC get the leftovers. Also, CBS doesn't have any games the first 2 weeks.

that seating chart at the bottom seems to indicate only 141,000 seats. what happened to the other 20k?
temporary bleachers on the track/field level
I think hunter meant, the stadium normally seats 160k, so why are there only 141k listed?
I think they will cover the upper most seats in the permanent section and add seats on track and infield, thus keeping the truly worst views out of circulation.
I'm wondering if they might put video boards in the upper levels of all 4 turns

B1G officials? At least it isn't the Pac 12. Yeah I'm looking at you, Sugar Bowl guys...
*shudders*
...I STILL can't talk about it.
Anybody else think Jim Weaver's signature looks a little bit like the signature of a 3rd grader who just learned how to write cursive?
Parkinson's will do that.
o shi*!
I didn't know he had parkinson's...

Oh man, drunk Hokie fans.drinking during the game might be interesting. We need to have the most Hokies ever at a game..start stealing tenn tickets!

Where are you seeing the 140? I've been seeing most tickets will be 40.

Thanks for proving what I said.
Look at the last page of the contract. It lists where the tickets are, how much, and who they are for (VT or Tenn).
Edit: I've embedding it for those who don't want to click and scroll:
Thanks I could not zoom in on my phone.
fwiw, Bristol will be amking approx $90k more off the UT fans than Tech fans...
total tix for VT is just over $4.1mil
ave ticket price for Tech $102.72
ave ticket price for Tenn $104.95
ave ticket price for BMS $93.93

over confident?
Agreed. #ALLMAROONEVERYTHING. I'd even be up for a "Limited Release" of the old VT or the old gobbler with two limiting factors:
1.) The old VT needs to be against maroon helmets
2.) The old gobbler needs to be not orange and not as big as the last helmets.
What if we did throwback mid 90's jersey's? #DruckenmillerDays?
So...how long will it take the fans to make it back to the Holiday Inn after the game??? That's A LOT of people!!! I may be sleeping in the car!
Ha! I've been wondering this myself. Does BMS also have enough parking??
THAT'S WHY I'M JUST GONNA RENT AN RV
Plenty of parking and free shuttles (school buses).
BMS has TONS of parking! But for the races fans park miles away on 421 and walk! It is ridiculous and so funny! Volunteer Parkway is usually where all the campgrounds are

I think a decent number will show up for the novelty of the game. And, if they decided to resell, we can get more Tech fans in the stands.
