Are you kidding me?... I chose to go to last week's game because I figured this one would be a nooner too... I hate myself.

But hooray for 3:30!

Gahhh!! The ONE WEEK I don't want it to be a later game, it's a later game. How am I going to watch the whole game now when I've got somewhere to be at 6?

Oh well.

Guys, WE'VE MADE IT! The ACC gave us a kickoff other than 12:00!

we did it everybody, we did it

i'm supposed to be working so. . .

3:30 game AND The Walking Dead is back?

aww man, didnt you feel bad for that lady last night?

"That kid you're talking to right there, I think he played his nuts off! And you can quote me on that shit!" -Bud Foster

Sort of, but when she looks like a walker, you have to think she's gonna turn out psycho and she did.

so then, what was in the bag? baby zombie? i gotta feeling thats not the last we've seen of those two.

No, it was the husband she was talking to Rick about. But it was just his head.

sorry man.

haha, sorry oherro. i never know what the etiquette is. i'm sure there were all kinds of arguments on social media today between folks who havent seen it and legitimately dont wanna get spoiled and those that have seen it and naturally want to talk about it.

Turkey leg for DiNozzo!

It was his head. You could see the mouth moving. Also, if you watched the talking dead right afterwards they said it was the last of those two. Apparently people loved her and then they just killed her. Seems like episode two and three are going to be nightmares.

Yep, go to work at 2pm. next week...the last swing shift the nooner worked out okay, but it was Marshall, so it wasn't looking good when I left about 2pm.

Weaver immediately put his face in his palms in frustration when his assistant whispered the news of the Duke game starting time while he was at The Battle of Bristol press conference.

Exit Light, Enter Night....Go Hokies

Thats it... Weaver is probably pissed. He won't make it in time to get the early bird special at Golden Corral that night.

So VERY well put.

I'M SO EXCITED!

...I'm also so sad that I'm so excited...

"Exit light..."

Mind is blown as to how Pitt game was noon and Dook game is 330.

Because Sam Rogers.

Leonard. Duh.

I think a lot of people (myself included) forget that it is not just about game times - it also about network selection and availability/selection of games. ESPN will put VT on a noon game destined for ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU rather than make it a regional game at 3:30 on the ACC Network/ESPN3. They want to fill their slots with the most viewers possible.

That being said.... Duke might be better than Pitt. They did play them close without Boone.

VT was unranked when ESPN set the game time for the Pitt game. They're ranked now.

This is the most #goacc thing since the last most #goacc thing.

Running out of breakfast tailgate ideas. Looking forward to skipping the Bloody's and Mimosas and heading for the real thing.

Like apple pie moonshine and Wild Turkey 101, oh wait we did that last week at 8am, forgot about that... whoops.

My exact reaction when clicking through this link to find out the official news:
.

VT 12'... Exit light, Enter night.

What...what...what is this guy watching? I just can't...what?

Here's a hint.
He's clapping, the Zima truck just arrived.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

That man is Roman Abramovich. A Russian billionaire who owns Chelsea Football Club. He is notoriously known for watching matches high up in the press boxes and rarely cracking a smile, even during the most brilliant goals (and being the definition of a stubborn owner, but that's a convo for another blog all together). I can only imagine what elicited a reaction like this from him.

"Exit light..."

+1 for soccer knowledge, and he was probably applauding Torres getting subbed out.

lmao well said sir. I could rail on that dude all day. Torres, what a joke...

Torres scores goals. Kid shows up ready to find the net. But his ego is so delicate. Dainty, even. He's the classic needy forward.

So glad Chelsea gave up on Sturridge. I'll trade a dainty, egomaniac like Torres for a grind it out hard working like Sturridge. Him and Suarez are lethal right now.

Another Liverpool Hokie?! My dog is named Scousa for being born on the anniversary of Hillsborough. The next day would have earned her a Hokie name in memory of the 32.

Absolutely. I started watching soccer probably my junior or senior year of high school and fell in love with the way they play. Kuyt was such a hard worker, Gerrard doing Gerrard things with Xabi Alonso in the middle. I think they would have done a lot better the last couple years if they had someone in the middle with his ability but its finally starting to turn around.

I watched about an hour or so of the match vs Crystal Palace then drove to Lane and watched the UNC game.

Hokie soccer definitely assisted in my liking of soccer as I went to a lot of matches my freshmen year when we had Patrick Nyarko and went to the College Cup. Watching those matches as well as playing FIFA helped me learn the rules and strategy better.

I miss Xabi Alonso...

#YNWA

We'll jump so hard we'll break the bleachers.

He's a shadow of the 2008 Torres. That kid was lethal, he's only shown flashes of that when playing Europa games hiding behind the Zorres mask.

I may be bitter because I'm actually a huge Chelsea fan, but Torres can't score league goals. He had 7 last year if I'm remembering correctly, and he has yet to find the back of the net this season in the Prem. He killed it in Europa League, as was already mentioned, and maybe it was all due to the mask. But he's just a disappointment when you think back to what he was capable of with LFC.

Agreed, perhaps. I tend not to watch a lot of league matches, mostly Euro and World cups. But when those tournaments come around, I shut down and dedicate all my energy into those tourneys.

Torres has been a great finisher for Spain, and that continues to an extent. He doesn't get as much playing time nowadays, but it seems like he'll usually get the sub in the 80th and score twice.

Its infuriating watching him play for Spain because you're right, he scores goals on goals on goals at the international level, I want that kind of production from him so badly for Chelsea. It def helps that he has some of the best midfielders playing behind him on the Spanish team. He won the golden boot I'm pretty sure at the Confederation Cup this past summer.

On a completely separate note, I'm glad soccer is growing as much as it is in the U.S. I can't wait for World Cup, our national team is looking mighty fine as of late.

Yea, but 4 of his goals in the Confederation Cup were against Tahiti...Spain won 10-0. He scored 1 against Nigeria. I think those were all of his goals in that competition.

"That move was slicker than a peeled onion in a bowl of snot." -Mike Burnop

Did the same thing in the Euros last year, golden boot but only gets garbage time or garbage opponent goals.

Just supports my argument that the dude is on the downslide. Bust.

I think he's excited about the hidden camera in the locker room.

"It's a Hokie takeover of The Hill ... in Charlottesville!" -Bill Roth

His Russianess is also the reason they are called Chelski by other teams' fans, and also derided because he went out and bought great players (and thus trophies) with silly money and an obnoxious (or brilliant, depending on your perspective) manager that enjoys being the center of attention so much he dubbed himself "The Special One".

Is ANYONE out there dumb enough to be an Aston Villa fan like me? Most people are smart enough to latch on to a team that has some chance of winning something, ever. Not me! I apparently love the year after year thrill of almost getting relegated and watching your best players be sold.

This is an actual reaction to the Head Ball Cop calling a timeout!

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In Sam Rogers we trust.

You mean I can sleep in AND tailgate?!?!?!

@AMB4VT

But why waste that extra time sleeping when you could be tailgating already?

Logan 3:16

Because I get up Mon-Fri at 6am. So I would like to have an extra couple of hrs on the weekends at least.
Or at least to wake up when the sun is actually out....

@AMB4VT

Finally! So if we keep winning will UMD be a night game?

exit light

I wonder if this will finally produce a sell-out at Lane?

I think we've had one since the streak ended. I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere that UNC was a "sellout." I dunno about Pitt.

Not the bagman VT deserves, but the bagman VT needs right now.

We can't take this game lightly, even though we'll have a great party before kickoff.
But, the one that bothers me is the opponent after that.

I'm going to watch the replay this week but, Boston College looks like no joke, the play against FS and Clemson show that. They're playing good fundamentals and always play hard. It's on their turf.

Our guys need to get healthy and rest, concentrate of Duke for the next week and beat them.
Then BC will be a real contest.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

.....Damn, as soon as I would start my first week of work -_-.

Boone is back for Duke. Are they any good? Where would you set the line?

i'm curious about duke's run defense. obviously they were pretty porous last year. i wonder if it wouldnt be a good opportunity to sharpen that spear up so to speak.

"That kid you're talking to right there, I think he played his nuts off! And you can quote me on that shit!" -Bud Foster

I would like to see JC go off again like last year against Duke.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

Wait, there are college football games played after 12PM?

Is that legal? Someone check with Weaver to make sure this isn't against university policy.

Rip his freaking head off!

Sweet! I love warbirds! B-25 will make some great radial piston engine noise. I think this is a make-up for the cancelled Marshall game flyover.

Take the shortest route to the ball and arrive in bad humor.

I would probably lose it if we ever got some P-51's to flyover. Or better yet P-38's!!

"The Big Ten is always using excuses to cancel games with us. First Wisconsin. Then Wisconsin. After that, Wisconsin. The subsequent cancellation with Wisconsin comes to mind too. Now Penn State. What's next? Wisconsin?" -HorseOnATreadmill

I was so disappointed when they canceled the flyover for the Marshall game.

There are very few P-38's left that are airworthy, unfortunately. There are many more P-51's, mainly due to larger production numbers. Seeing one at an airshow is a fantastic thing if you ever have the opportunity. Small, fast and with a distinctive whine, they are perhaps the most beautiful aircraft ever built, imho. I have a wav file of a P-51 that plays when I turn on my computer at home....my wife hates it but it is a sweet sound. (As a side note, my computer in my office plays a short clip of the VT fight song when it's turned on...just to annoy any nearby hoos.)

Schwing!

This is going to be great for the ACC.

I'll be going to this game but why must I always see Duke at 330? Lol

Touchdown Tech - Bill Roth

Wee first game I get to go to since the Dook game last year, so excited to get a real tailgate in this time around!

"Win or lose we'll greet you with a glad returning!"

And I was just beginning to adapt to the Nooner time slot. Thanks a lot, ACC.....
