This Is Home Podcast with Brandon Flowers, Eddie Royal, DeAngelo Hall, and Brenden Hill

An awesome podcast with some former Hokie Greats. They have some really cool insight into things going on on the sideline during the game. Flowers talks about coaching up Farley during the game and keeping him level. Hearing them talking about getting more involved in the program to help with recruiting is really exciting. Give it a listen.

Haven't had a chance to listen to the podcast yet but I really enjoyed Flowers during the pregame. He had a lot of good insight and was very engaged and polished. Good stuff.

Like this PodCast format, I haven't finished it yet but it seems like you're just in the room with these guys just having a conversation.

They also brought up a great point. When was the last time where we can line up against any team in the nation and say we have the fastest player on the field? Also brought up the size of our players not only matching up to the size of FSU who is historically big but being bigger at almost every position matchup.

When David Wilson was here?

This is a fun listen. I love it.

Just listened to it. Was great

I just finished listening to today's episode. *deep breaths trying to stay calm* Keep hype under control... Keep hype under control... Screw it. WE'RE GOING TO WIN IT ALL!!!!

Flowers has some excellent commentary on the gradual improvements needed to take this group from one good game to a great team/season. The hype is real and I hope our culture that has been built is resilient compared to everyone believing that have arrived after one big performance.

Just listened on my lunch break, and this is awesome. I literally had goosebumps when they were talking about showing up to games and coaching up the players on the sidelines. I think that is absolutely invaluable in a number of ways... perception from recruits, building confidence in young/inexperienced players, creating a sence of brotherhood and fraternity to name a few. Think if Pro Bowlers and All-pros like Flowers, Kam, Dwyane Brown, Dwyane Lawson and Tyrod are a regular presence and can instill that in-game confidence that Flowers did on Monday night. The thought of that has me hyped, FAM!

This is the only time I've ever laughed at a Dwayne Lawson joke and I'm not even sure if it was intended to be a joke or just a mistake. Either way +1. Snuck him in there perfectly.

;)

I really enjoyed the podcast overall, but Flowers talking about the conversation he had with Farley on the sideline is what stuck out to me the most. Hearing that Farley was thinking about cheating on a route to try and make a splash pick and Flowers talking him out of the idea was such a cool sideline insight.

Leg for Dwayne Lawson
And yeah, Herbie mentioned Watts was giving up room on the hitches and could try and cheat. Glad we had some guys on the sidelines for this exact type of thing. Flowers said give them 8 yards...don't let them get behind you.

I did find some irony when they talked about "back when we were great" and realize some of those guys were around for '00 - '03 years of individualism.

On the subject of podcasts...if you haven't subscribed to Two Deep: Hokies Under the Influence then you're really missing out on some fantastic Hokie coverage.

What's that one under? I'm podcast illiterate, but would like to learn more if there's a way I can download it to my phone or something

If you have an iPhone, you can click the podcast app and then search for two deep. You can then download them to your phone to listen to when you're on the go.

If you have an android then you can go to the website: https://www.twodeepvt.com and download straight off the website.

Hope that helps!

Awesome podcast! Love the format is there any way to leave comments or reviews to let them know?

It is not on Apple podcasts currently. I am hoping they add it soon though.

I tweeted at Brenden last night, he says they're finishing up process to get it added. Should be on there soon.

It was a catch!

You wanna come to a super soft birthday party?

Just listen on Spotify. Super easy.

Really loved the content here, but man those guys have to get some better audio equipment. Sounded like they were in a room full of ducks.

Sounded like they were in a room full of ducks.

I think that was just the sound of the massive sigh of relief from the Oregon Ducks that they dodged a bullet with Willie.

I love that D predicted VT to lose by 30 before the FSU game, and now D thinks VT is on a championship level. Complete 180, but I think many VT faithful would agree.

Definitely a fun podcast with some real insight from a player's perspective. Also have pretty interesting thoughts on former player alumni roles and recruiting in VA. I hope they keep this up.

Awesome podcast. Can't wait to hear more as the season progresses. Hope they can stay pretty consistent with it.

It's grea to hear alumni and former NFL guys talking about how they need to be more involved in our recruiting process. Working out in Blacksburg, talking with current guys, etc. It seems there has been an issue getting alumni to come back consistently; hoping Fuente can turn that around with an effort spearheaded by these 3.

Thanks for suggesting this, great listen on the way to work this morning!
