Tennessee is designated as the home team and will wear orange. Virginia Tech is the road team and will wear maroon or white. Given how much the teams solid-colored uniforms differ in brightness, Id imagine a Vols orange against a Hokies maroon would probably be a safe bet.

"Exit light..."

Yes, love color vs color.

Hadn't seen this one before posting in the "Game Contract" thread, count me in on those who'd be real excited about that one

#ALLMAROONEVERYTHING@THEBATTLEOFBRISTOL

UCLA & USCw both wear their color jerseys for their game. One's red, one's blue so it's not hard to tell the difference. We can only hope that UT will be dumb enough to let us wear our color jersey too.

It's in the contract that we can. It was actually quite common until games started going on TV in black & white, making it more difficult to differentiate on the screen. The season opener between Tennessee and NCState last year was color vs color.

I meant more that UT would want their colors (orange & white) rather than our colors on the field.

Kinda wish we could wear orange. We are undefeated when wearing orange jerseys with white pants.

Not the bagman VT deserves, but the bagman VT needs right now.

I only like orange as an accent color. Personally I think the orange uniforms are one of the worst looks.

There's always a lighthouse. There's always a man. There's always a city.

Don't get me wrong, I think all-maroon looks the best...but the numbers don't lie.

I reject your reality and substitute my own.

I'll settle for anything without orange pants to be quite honest.

This has all the makings of a special Adidas uniform for Tennesee vs. a special (Pro Combat) Nike uniform for Tech (a la VT-Boise State). The marketing potential from this game is ridiculous and I would find it idiotic for both companies to not try their darndest to do something big.

It seems Im in the minority in thinking that the couple of all white pro combats that nike made for us were great. I think if they were to make a #ALLMAROONEVERYTHING pro combat uni for us, it would be the sickest thing ever made

i really liked the white pro combats from a few years ago

not so much a fan of the turkey tracks or fog horn leg horn white helmets

Onward and upward

oh I agree with you. Those needed to be killed with fire

I can live with the turkey track ones, but the oversized maroon turkey that looked like a stain on the helmet was awful, just terrible. I did like the Hokie Stone too.

But nothing beats a classic. The All Maroon uni's were worn when we beatdown Miami in 2003 and they looked fantastic.

Beamer will be nearly 70 when the game is scheduled to take place in 2016, the last year of his contract with Virginia Tech. Will he still be the coach by then? Thats the plan, he said.

I know the quote is from Beamer, but I think what this shows is that it will be both Beamer and Weaver's legacy. I believe Weaver's contract is up the same year and it is already known he will step down at that time. Will be interesting to see what Beamer does.

Any chance the sec network steals the game?

Touchdown Tech - Bill Roth

Highly doubtful. ESPN or CBS is going to want this game on their flagship station.

I am gleeful.
Virginia Tech will be playing in the largest college football game in history.
Virginia Tech will make a scad of money.
The eyes of the college football world will be focused on Virginia Tech on that day, and somewhat for every day leading up to this historic game.
Virginia Tech has just gained a decisive recruiting weapon-"Sure, what (insert school name here) is offering sounds pretty good, but how would you like to get to play in front of 160,000+ fans in the largest football game in the history of the world with millions of TV viewers watching you?"
Virginia Tech fans will have a glorious experience before, during, and after the game.

Awesome. Just Awesome.

Downside to that is that Tennessee can sell the same pitch but get a leg up on us because they're from the ESSSSSSSSSSS EEEEEEEEEEEEEE CEEEEEEEEEEE... Big whup. Down with the $EC Giant! Whatever conference faces them in the national championship better win. And I hope it's the ACC.

It would be the absolute ultimate ACC thing ever for an ACC team to finally take the SEC off their throne after no one else could

WVU, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Ohio State all on the schedule coming up.

What ever happened to K-State? I thought I saw that somewhere years ago.

The Dude Abides

and Penn State and Michigan. no idea about K-State. doesnt Bill Snyder not like to play big OOC?

VT CEE Class of 2016/2017

5 years, 2 degrees, 33 football games as a student, and 2 Cassell court stormings later, I bleed Maroon and Orange

Snyder dropped us.

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

I remember the big east days of the 90s where everyone in the media said Virginia Tech doesn't play anyone. Now they say we can't win the big games..soon they will say in coming years..when will someone else take the Hokies off their national throne.

Touchdown Tech - Bill Roth

Little trembles of happy just ran down my spine.

This is why I am a Miami fan . Because every time anyone ever said that I'd come back with, "Well, we play Miami". Radio silence.

Don't get me wrong. I'm still PUMPED about this game, but...

No coolers are allowed in the speedway, although Bristols concessions vendors will be allowed to sell alcoholic beverages during the game

Disappointment

Go Hokies
