Had to check your bio to see if we played together. I don't think the women had a club team back in the late 80's, and you would have been too young to be on it, so I'm going to say we did not.
But your most memorable moment is definitely worth the read, and a leg.

I was class of 2008 as well and we had a fraternity brother on the men's team. The night the ladies rugby team came to party at the house lives in infamy among my class. Good times.

Live, I thought the TD by Jackson was helped by pretty much everyone. Now I see that it was essentially Chung vs 5-6 W&M guys with a little help from Keene.

Not only that, but he was walking through Lot 5 and stopped at our tailgate spot for a pic!

Keene lost outside leverage on the pile/scrum/maul and allowed it to work back outside. Could blame it Hazelton failing to get out of the way and working back to the wrong side.
Edit: second look shows Peoples completely overran the play when he was next outside.

Awesome as always, although I'm a little surprised that the excessively long shot of Fuente randomly chewing gum at 2:28 in the 3rd didn't make the cut. It had no bearing on the game but more of an indication that he was in "I came to kick arse and chew bubblegum, and I'm almost out of kicking arse" mode.

didn't Hazleton have a pretty impressive sideline catch at one point? Our stream was spotty, so I might have been looking at another game, but I seem to remember him making a great play on a really long gain.
Oh, and I thought Keene had more of a Dave Grohl thing going, but Rambo works.

There were two TD's that should be been credited to the offensive line more than the ball carrier. It was wonderful when the scrum formed and carried the ball carrier into the endzone.

Did anyone else catch that awkward camera shot between William & Mary after the Hooker TD? It looks like William was staring at Hooker a bit too long...

For the record - and I will die upon this hill every time an announcer brings it up - that's a maul, not a scrum.
in that case, I'm pissed Kumah wasn't involved. If there's mauling going on, it should be done by the Bear.
I yell this at the TV EVERY TIME they call it a scrum!
(I played club rugby for VT many moons ago)

Free legs for all the ruggers, free legs for all the ruggers...
Member for four+ years and only 7 legs. Now 8.
Back down to 7!! That ought to teach you!

To W&M punter: Gutsiest move I ever saw, Mav (someone gif me, i'm getting ready to drive to work)
Their punter was great. He had great hangtime and distance.

Chung absolutely deserves a game ball for that.
And this is why you work the sled during the off-season.
I think I saw where his dad made the trip down for the game since the Eagles had the Thursday opener.
Sure enough...
Who is Dad and Who is Son? 😳
Pops looks Good!
Give that man some pads!
I think his eligibility might have run out...
You need to keep reading downthread. His eligibility may be done, but Kevin Chung's sure hasn't.
No no no. Kevin Chung is his other son. Eugene's eligibility ran out ages ago.
Not only that, but he was walking through Lot 5 and stopped at our tailgate spot for a pic!

I'm looking forward to the next 4-6 years of Kyle Chung's career at VT.
Heard he is coming back as Kevin Chung and will start at left guard for Quincy Patterson in 2020
How do you pronounce that name, I wonder.
I like how Hazelton is standing around watching then gets pancaked by Pfaff to push Jackson in
Came here to comment on that. He got blown up.
Push or be pushed. Simple as that. Sandbagging sonuva....
Thanks for pointing that out. I can't stop laughing.
Hazelton standing around was a common theme that needs to be addressed.
(More on that from French tomorrow.)
I love how the pile got into the endzone and forgot to bring Jackson along. Heads up move by Jackson to extend his arm as he went down
Really solid move. I don't know how he was able to know just where the line was, but he did, and got the ball over it.
I'm guessing that he just felt the maul being pushed away from the EZ and tried to ensure that it was over, if they were close.
You mean the scrum, right? ;^)
Trying to avoid hairbrush girl.
I like the heads up. But in blowout win against William and Mary, I don't want our starting QB's extended arm anywhere near a 10 man pile

Guess that's what happens when they make you run like a WR.
TFW you almost get a sack on a corner blitz, but instead bite on the fake hand off and end up chasing the QB 69 yards for a TD.

and the QB separates from you while at full speed.
Good thing we weren't playing Ole Miss, I hear they are really good at chasing Hooker.
Louisville would like a word.
Rick Petino just considered coaching again

I think Rambo is a nickname of his.
He did have a nice catch, and the throw from Willis was even nicer.
On "The House Always Wins," you can almost see the disappointment on Trevon Hill's face as he blows up the play one second too late.

But totally agree :)
House's sack would have been a personal foul in NFL.
Watching the NFL is unbearable compared to college football
What about that tackle is flag worthy? He doesn't launch, doesn't lead with his helmet, doesn't hit the QB in the head or in the side of the leg.
He drives/lands his weight directly on top of the QB, which the NFL has been overly sensitive about this season.
lift-and-slam of the QB and lands with his full weight on him.
Yeah, exactly. That's his point...
Exactly
James Mitchell with two pancake blocks in those clips. He's going to be a monster.
Anybody else think Houshun Gaines was misnamed? He really ought to be Houshun Losses.
These kids are loving every minute. Check out the replies on his RT:

Man, Hendon Hooker looked so much like Cam Newton on that run...
