Seems to me that you should be suspended a certain number of actual games, not just games where you think you can do without the players.

I was wondering about this, ..guess I've got my shitty answer.
I like the subtle admission that they won't be going to a bowl game.
So if the game is rescheduled I assume UNC gets to pick what game those students miss or ignore it all together like they do with anything regarding academic standards.
The fact that they used 30% and not 25% (3/12) or 33%(4/12) tells you all you need to know. Obviously they couldn't make their same point if they said the original discipline was for 25% or 33% because 3/11 = 27%. 30% at least makes it look close.
I'd like to see UNC get penalized further for this BS, but it will at least be enjoyable to see them continue losing instead.
The fact that it was stated as a percentage beforehand tells me one thing..... They paid hookers to sleep with the weather gods in exchange for a cancelled ass kicking.

30% of 12 games was 3.6 games so since they rounded up when they handed out the punishment, it makes sense that they should continue with the same logic? However, General Logic 101 was apparently taught at UNC.

Raise your hand if you are truly surprised by this... I mean honestly most NCAA punishments are less than a slap on the wrist. I feel like I am dealing with stupid parents (not MY personal parents-- the stupid parents of my students). For instance: when I was working at a day care during high school, and this kid got mad at me and dug his fingernails into the back of my hand (he went beyond scratching me) and drew blood. I told his mother when she came to pick him up and she looked at him and said "That's not nice." By the way I still have a scar 20 years later.
