Welcome to Week 8, I dub thee, insufferable objects (FSU fans) vs unstoppable mouf (Dabo Swinney). Every other game, mostly due to Stanford choking are appetizers to the main course at 8 pm Saturday night. Winner in this game will almost certainly be the ACC Atlantic representative in the ACCCG and will take a huge step towards the BCSCG. The loser of the game will still have a great shot at an at-large BCS bid (Sugar.) The atmosphere is going to be electric and a huge ACC showcase game. I hope for a great game, just don't ask me to pick a side, I can't openly root for either team.

The most exciting 25 seconds in college football, running down The Hill
This Week's Games:
Friday, October 18th
UCF at (8) Louisville -12.5 ~~ 8:00 pm ESPN
- So Louisville wants this game to be mulligan to last week's Rutgers game. My question how does one get a mulligan playing a par 3 course?
- UCF is having another successful season, joined a better conference (we think), will be bowl bound and George OLeary hasnt killed a player this year, yet
Pick: Louisville laying the points. While I think UCF is better than Rutgers, I am dumb enough to go all in on the Cards in a national showcase game playing well again
***
Saturday, October 19th
(22) Florida -2.5 at (14) Missouri ~~ 12:21 pm SEC TV / ESPN3

- Mizzou bros, you're in the SEC now, you even have your first signature win, don't rep it like the guy above ... you use pom-poms, it's the SEC way
- Losing to the Tiger of the Bayou kind, acceptable, but losing to the carpet bagging variety, will cause Will Muschamp to kill a man, just to watch him die
Pick: Florida getting the points. With James Franklin out for Mizzou, it makes picking the Gators pretty easy, that and this is the first real defense the Tigers have seen.
***
(10) UCLA at (13) Stanford -5.5 ~~ 3:30 pm ABC/ ESPN2
- MANBALL had an erectile dysfunction vs Utah last week, I'm going to overlook it this one time, but they might want to take a pill that gives them a 4 hour erection this week because UCLA can score
- Jim Mora Jr has a chance to separate UCLA from the Pac12 South and bring balance to the divisions, is the 3rd time a charm because so far it's MANBALL 2 METROSEXUALBALL 0
Pick: Stanford by a touchdown. I am going with the Cardinal caught in the classic look ahead trap game vs Utah last week, but they need some more perimeter threats, badly.
***
Auburn at (7) Texas A&M -12.5 ~~ 3:30 pm CBS

- I'm going to miss Johnny Football after this season. Cherish everything about him, there isn't anyone else in all of football that entertains like this guy
- Signature win alert ... Gus Malzahn needs one ... hello aTm defense ... he can work with that
Pick: Auburn getting points. Name one thing about this aTm defense that gives you confidence they can stop even an average offense? I'll wait.
***
(20) Washington at Arizona State -2.5 ~~ 6:00 pm PAC-12 Network
- Nut up time for the Huskies. No shame in losing to Stanford and Oregon, but they can't let those 2 losses, give them a 3rd. Season, maybe even a coach Sark era defining moment for UDub
- Speaking of nut up, will ASU wear their seminal fluid helmets again?
Pick: UDub getting the points, rebounding and winning out right. Better O and D.
***
(5) Florida State -2.5 at (3) Clemson ~~ 8:00 pm ABC

Consider the Scenarios:
- Clemson Win / FSU Loss: Dabo Swinney cuts a cheesy 1992 mid level WCW babyface promo about Clemson / FSU fans are dealt a huge slice of humble pie with a lot of BACK jokes
- FSU Win / Clemson Loss: God, FSU fans will form the worlds largest circle jerk about how good they are / Dabo is likely to go off on the first media bro that asks about Clemsoning (even though the term will have been used it inaccurately)
There are no winners here.
Pick: FSU by more than a touchdown. Clemson will play very up, but like last year as the game goes on, FSU is better on offense and defense with better depth.

Beer of the Week:
Westbrook Citrus Ninja Exchange DIPA

My boy, Will is visiting from Upstate and he damn well, better bring me this grapefruit bomb ipa if he wants to watch the game at my house.
Overall:
UCF at Louisville -12.5
Florida -2.5 at Mizzou
UCLA at Stanford -5.5
Auburn at Texas A&M -12.5
Washington at Arizona State -2.5
Florida State -2.5 at Clemson
Happy picking and drinking on your off week.

Beer: I'll be drinking homebrewed Oktoberfest, Hefeweizen, Doppelbock, Berliner Weisse, and Altbier. And all on tap! Sometimes it's good to visit home again.
Quite an impressive lineup of German styles. So when can I come over? I've always wanted to brew a Berliner Weisse, but I don't have any temperature control.
Lineup was at my parents' this weekend. Most of it has been finished off. The Berliner Weisse was my mom's brew.

Auburn at Texas A&M -12.5 - aTm can't stop much, but Auburn can stop less...Aggies

gonna try something a lil different this week...so here goes
Cardinals cover
Gators get it done by just enough.
The Big Tree covers.
Johnny Football covers, but Auburn scores a lot also. 50-30 track meet here.
Arizona State. U-Dub stock is falling.
Dabo and the Swinneys protect the house.
Teddy Show - for real this time
Florida
Cardinal
War Eagle
Huskies
Famous Jaimous
Beer find of the week: Laguntas Lucky 13 Ale
Loovul burned me last week, let's try it again!
Mizzou - Florida is so overrated. Still think a VT-UF game would end 4-2, Hokies.
Stanford - I think they got caught looking ahead.
The cash machine - aTm
UDub in a bounce-back game drubbing
Klempsun - we must complete our revenge season.
Last week I said I felt great about my picks and that terrified me. Just as I suspected, I managed to go 1-5. So here we go again:
UCF
Florida
UCLA
Auburn
Arizona State
FSU
UCF
Florida
Stanford
Texas A&M
Washington
Florida State
UCF

Mizzou
Stanford
Texas A&M
Washington
Clemson...I really fucking hate picking Clipsun, but they're on that Bolivian Marching Powder.
MRSDOZER:
UCF - "i don't think they'll win by 12.5"
Mizzou - "mizzou to win"
Stanford - "sure"
Auburn - "i think 12.5 is too many points again... so no"
Arizona State - "i guess i'll say yes"
Clemson - and i think i have to go home field advantage - clemson to win
Hovering right over 50% for the season, I need a big week to move the needle in the right direction. Not sure this is going to be the week, though...
Louisville (I'll bite. Again. Hope Lousiville doesn't let me down this week.)
Florida (Keep waiting for Mizzou to lose. Don't love a Florida pick here, but love Mizzou less, I guess)
Stanford (Can't get the image of 9 angry O-linemen out of my head. I think they roll here)
Auburn (Will go with BCO here on the strength of the argument regarding A&M's weak D)
Washington (My weekly toss up. No reason here. Just a mental coin flip)
Clemson (FSU may be better, overall. But tough to go against #3 in the nation as a home dog)
UL
UF
Stanford
Auburn
UW
FSU - This may be Clemson's last year, too bad they won't go out on top. I definitely see the possibility of Art Briles HC, Chad Morris OC combination at Texas. Good luck dealing with that Clemson.
UCF at Louisville -12.5
Florida -2.5 at Mizzou
UCLA at Stanford -5.5
Auburn at Texas A&M -12.5
Washington at Arizona State -2.5
Florida State -2.5 at Clemson
UCF
Mizzou
Stanford
Texas A&M

Gotta go with UCF since I'm a student there
I guess Florida can win by 3....?
Stanford
This one is tough. I'm thinking A&M
Washington
Famous Jameis Winston rolls the crack addicted tiger. Noles.
I'll take the cards this week to win by 2 TDs
The Gators will win easily without Franklin
I'll also take the other Cardinal in a big bounce back game
War Damn Eagle will keep it close
uDub
Everything points toward an FSU victory, so in true ACC fashion I'll take Klempsun
UCF
UF
UCLA
A&M
UW

In bye week fashion: water, water and some more H2O.

Mizzou wins
Stanford wins big

UW
FSU by 14
Louisville Wins, UCF with Points
Mizzou
Stanford
A&M
Wazzu
FSU
Beer: Whatever's at the wedding
Louisville, but UCF beats the spread
Florida, not sure if one touchdown will be scored in this one
Stanford rights the ship and plays manball.
Texas A&M, covers.
Washington
Clemson? This is a hard one, but have to go with a Senior QB in a big game at home.
Rothaus Pils all weekend, as we clean the house for the Mom in-law's visit.
Loovull
Flo Rida
Stanford
SEC Tigers #2
Keith Price
I really think FSU will win this, but I just can't overlook the fact that Clemson is finding ways to get it done against everyone. ACC Tigers at least cover...
Louisville
Florida
UCLA
War Eagle
Arizona State
FSU
Louisville
Ville w/ the points for one simple reason: goacc. Teddy and the gang really screwed up against Rutgers by not winning like Baylor usually does. Papa Johns Stadium, god that is awful sounding, will be rocking and baking for this game. I will watch, drink and type of the rest of my picks later...
...The rest of the picks.
Well the Louisville game turned out just like we all suspected. #goacc, I guess.
Florida
Apparently FLA has found an offense but losing their starting QB. Mizzou had a big win and a major loss all at once. I don't see the magic lasting through this week. Even with the game being way up north in carpetbagger land.
Stanford
If you haven't been watching Pac-12 football this year, you are missing out. Unfortunately I have DirecTV and no PAC-12 Network but I won't have a problem watching this game. I think UCLA is pretty good but Stanford is better and has a better coach so I am going w/ the smart kids.
aTm
Johnny Football. Maybe he can play defense too.
UDub
An ex Huskie O lineman owns a bar a couple blocks from me. I frequent it quite a bit. I do have some purple and gold shaded glasses when picking them. They have to be one the best 2 loss teams in the country. PAC12>SEC? I say yes.
Clemson
I have gone back and forth and the only logic I can come up with is a home dog on Saturday night. I imagine if Jameis Winston throws 12 interceptions, is sacked 48 times and FSU wins 3-2, FSU fans will scream he should be the Heisman winner. Winston has looked great but this is a big game and Boyd has been here before. Also I really, really, really hate Florida St.
These picks are brought by Hilliard's Blonde. Its a local beer and it only comes in tall boy cans, 1pt to be exact. My wife is away on a girls weekend trip so I expect to have around 50 or so.
Go Hokies!
Louisville
I'll get the rest of my picks in later, just got finished with one of the busiest weeks of my life.
So, in other words, you have time
Yes, somewhat. Pretty much taking the weekend to do nothing but veg.
Beer, video games and tv!
Now for the rest of the picks (if any of them are currently going on, this is literally the first page I've seen all day and haven't turned the tv on yet):
Florida
Stanford
Auburn
Washington
FSU
LOUISVILLE, because they're joining the ACC next year, and the ACC is back y'all
FLORIDA, because they hung tough with Miami, who is now a top 10 team (and are definitely most assuredly back)
UCLA, because I don't think Stanford is going to rebound well from last week's loss to Utah
AUBURN, because they're the Tigers and you know who else is the Tigers? #3 Clemson.
WASHINGTON. The Huskies have only lost to top 15 teams, and played them both pretty close.
FLORIDA STATE. They have something to prove. Mostly just that they're back.
UCF
Florida
Stanford
Auburn
Washington
Florida State
Just updated to switch aTm to Auburn....though I did have UCF correctly from before the kick.
Louisville - Too late to count and too dumb to pay attention to when games are being played.
Florida - Their O may be lousy, but they'll win by at least 14
UCLA - The freefall has begun. UCLA taking Stanford down.
Auburn - Because aTm's D is just turrible. They may win, but they won't beat the spread.
Arizona State - their coeds are much better so naturally they'll win.
I'm expecting a 1 for
Florida State -2.5 at Clemson
Louisville
Mizzu
Stanford
The fight'n autographs (aka Texas A&M)
Washington
Klempson
