Edit- These replies and some texts that I've got have told me enough. Apparently it looked like Bobby Wilder had been prepping for this game since we signed the fucking contract and Fu and Co just found out who the opponent was yesterday.... Awesome.

It was kinda like Disney on ice, except it was "football" and it looked like people who didn't know how to play football. Except the guys from ODU, they knew how to play.

That was the most disappointing performance I have ever watched the Hokies put on....... especially the defense. We just made the ODU quarterback look like a Heisman candidate.

Gave up 4 straight TD drives. Bud did nothing to adjust (blitzes, drop coverage, bracket, dime coverage).
VT has just never gotten past losing the easy game.

I wish I could say I was surprised, but I've been a fan a long time, and we have a long history of this sort of thing.
You would think a change in Head Coach would have changed that.
But it doesn't.
Our O is clearly needing some work.

I love me some Bud Foster, but this loss was clearly on his unit from what I can tell. Just no way in hell an 0-3 ODU with a back-up QB should be able to do what they did. None. I mean... just none. No amount of injuries or rustiness from an unplanned off-weak can explain this. This was poor game planning, poor adjustments, and poor execution.
He and his unit need to take a long and hard look at themselves.

I had a dream a week or 2 ago we were ranked #13 and it wasn't good because I knew we would get upset. I forgot about that until now, did not see this coming...

There was no energy from that team from the first whistle. That's what scares me and I hope to god Fuente makes it clear that's not how Virginia Tech plays football.
We are who we thought we are back in June/July. Just to much youth on the defensive side of the ball. We played a vanilla offense and defense when we should have game planned better instead of thinking of future opponents. If your going to say 1-0 each week then play that way. These are Fuentes recruits no matter how much we gripped at the end of Beamers career those were his kids that got a 10 and 9 win season. We are still 1-0 in conference play at least into next week. Next Saturday will show what kind of team we are.
Our corners/lbs are too young and their bodies arent developed enough to bring down big backs and our corners arent big enough to body out big WRs. This is gonna be a huge problem for the rest of the year.
Willis is better than JJ. He looks faster and he was way more accurate. Just a horrible game from JJ.

Think the off week screwed them up with Duke and ND upcoming. Thought they'd walk right through them. Well I guess we can just count this as the FSU loss that everyone thought we were gonna have at the beginning of the season.
Just wanna say, when we lost to JMU we really turned things around. I'm hoping that this is a similar situation and am looking forward to seeing how we bounce back. Still 1-0 in the ACC
Simply got outplayed and shot ourselves in the foot on numerous occasions. Yet go Hokies!. Still have a lot to play for. Still have a lot of work to do defensively. Offense wasn't so bad. Although there were times in the game where we had the chance to put our foot on their necks but didn't. No need to point fingers at just a certain individual. We collectively lost this game.

ODU...just embarrassed us.....how players declined offers from other Major P5 teams to go to ODU??? Probably none.

Poor offensive line play, gave Jackson little to no time, and the run production was primarily a byproduct of poor tackling.

The defense without Diablo is terrible .... I honestly cannot figure out what Bud was thinking today... defense needed adjustments and I didn't see any
The offense with JJ was just terrible.... but not all that was on him...missed blocks all day...
I don't wish any ill on JJ ... I wanted him to take that next step...but I haven't seen it yet

I wasn't able to watch much, but from what I was able to watch it appeared very clearly that the D was completely disinterested and ill-prepared to play anyone today. There was no push, extremely poor fundamentals, and a complete loss of mental toughness. Everyone associated with the defense needs to get themselves right.
I was at the JMU fiasco and I was at this absolutely ridiculous mess.....this was by far more embarrassing than the JMU game. Felt like zero people on this staff or team even knew each other. Nothing about this game will help us in any way and the repercussions will be felt for a long time!
I just got to speed watch the game on dvr and I can't ever remember a worse played game by Tech's defense and the DBs in particular. Considering my first game was in the mid sixties that's a lot of past frustrating games for this to be the worst.
I'm sure it's been discussed but no reason to schedule a brand new FBS school in your most fertile recruiting ground. Really there's no reason to schedule a game at ODU ever. What's next a game at Liberty? You're asking for something like this to happen, especially these days the way CFB is.
I'm pretty sure I can't say anything that hasn't been said, especially with over 1000 posts, but discipline on this team is a huge problem. I can't even remember how many players we lost in the off season to discipline or academic issues. Almost lost Jackson and Hill as well. Personal fouls and unsportsmanlike penalties cost us this game period. We as a fan base should not have to endure that. I see no reason to continue to support a team that can't keep their cool and rise to the occasion and beat an 0-3 team in a conference that I can't name and that got blown out by the Liberty Flames. This game was more than just an upset. And is more embarrassing than the JMU loss. The JMU loss was wayyy more understandable. We knew we had a team that year. This team, not so much.
And while I'm venting Tech needs to take those lousy orange jerseys and white helmets burn them and bury the ashes deep!
We should only wear only ALL MAROON uniform wear if we want to win. It's our "I mean business" uniform.
