Given how much (fair enough) griping in the past there was about Virginia Tech noon kickoffs, I found these numbers interesting. 2013 coincides with the ACC's first season as a 14-team conference.

remove the labor day night games and the ACCCGs. I would say remove the Thursday night games as well from our prime time numbers as its the only slot available for Thursday, but they at least exist every week
The VT primetime breakdown:
Thursday - 6
Friday - 3
Saturday - 8

None of our bowl games in that stretch fall into the "Primetime" definition.
Two of the Friday games were UVA Black Friday matchups. Those games were not guaranteed primetime.
The Saturday primetime games were Miami 2013, OSU 2014, Tennessee 2016, 2016 ACCCG, plus four games in 2017: Clemson, BC, Duke, and Miami.
Wow! We actually are on the low end of noon games for the conference.
If he sees this, I bet Narduzzi is will accuse the ACC of using his team to push-off to make more receptions later in the day.
I wonder if Pitt sharing a stadium with the Steeler's has anything to do with the early kickoffs, i.e. both teams play at home and the facilities crew gets extra time to convert the field/stadium for a nooner.
That's a good excuse for their coaches to use while recruiting.

They did have a 10:30 PM game at Oregon in 2016. That should count as primetime, since it was 7:30 in the time zone they were in.

Any idea when the kickoff time for this year's Pitt game will be announced?
It's on 6 day option. One thing to note is that the Steelers play at home on Thursday that week, so our time won't be dictated by their schedule.
And, on top of that, the majority of the games for that week are on a six day option, so there's really no guessing game or trying to narrow it down. The only three time slots that we know we're not going to be in are the 12:20 ACC Network game (UNC at Duke), 3 PM RSN game (Liberty at UVA), or noon on ESPNU (two American teams). Beyond that, every time slot is open.
Ok, thanks! Not being very well versed in how this stuff works, I don't really know what "six day option" means. But I will deduce that it means the announcement will take place six days in advance, which I presume to be this coming Sunday.
I'd also be curious to know where this kind of information can be found in the future. Once again, thanks!

Typically, games are announced about two weeks out (usually on a Monday). But when a network wants to maximize their ratings from top teams, they'll hold off an extra week to see how the next set of games play out. Hence, the six day hold, because they announce it on the Sunday before.
