Starting the football weekend off with everybody's favorite opponents.... UNCheat at Miami. Yippee.
So people have been less than thrilled with our uniforms last week. Miami is wearing all black. What is up with that? They are not great. And I saw a UNCheat Urkel---Dude had his pants up to his armpits.
Nothing too exciting going on in the first 3:30 of the game so far.

Miami doesn't take to Thursday night games like Blacksburg.
But in a more serious note: they started their RS Freshman QB over Malik tonight. EVERYBODY'S DOING IT!
Oh snap, I completely forgot about this game. Thanks for the reminder.
Yup, the battle of some of the ACC's most upstanding citizens.
We had it on while I was washing dishes and my fiance asks "what's with the trashy chain? Isnt Miami known for being classless thugs as it is? Do they realize they're just adding to the image?"
Kind of got me all warm and fuzzy inside...
Good lord. I could have run through that hole.
Also, the Rams are wearing some of the prettiest throwbacks in the league on Fox versus the Vikings.
Gorgeous. Those colors just freakin pop, man.
Edit: holy shit, I knew the Colosseum was gonna get a renovation with the suites/pressboxes, just not that quickly. Not sure how I feel about it. Looks like they stacked a bunch of double wides on that side of the stadium.
From all the renderings I've seen that have a projected finish date of Mid 2019, I think it will look really good. But, it will always be a different look from what I have grown up to.
*the look everyone has grown up to lol
And at the end of the day, they're reducing capacity, which in LA, is a good thing. USC is the only team that can come close to selling that massive place out anymore. 75-80k is more attainable than 93k. That's another thread though...
SC wont sell out a high school stadium the way they're playing this year
And the Rams ended up packing it Thursday night, so I was wrong on two different accounts. #HotHand
And we have another QB switch... Fedora pulled Elliott and put in Surratt.
In this case, it's not like it really matters...
True. It was more of an observation that everybody was switching QBs.
UNC's trying to be Miami, Clemson, or Alabama with the switch... but they're just out here looking like LOLUVA of a couple of seasons ago...
I can't tell if Perry is good, or if UNC's defense is garbage. Miami's receivers are wide open every play it seems
C, all of the above?
And another one wide open.......
UNC can't hold onto the damn ball. Bet the over on turnover chain appearances. Uugh, I hate that thing.
Welp, NFL it is from here on out tonight.
Jared Goff with an absolute DIME.
WOW
Sure that isn't Kurt Warner?
Miami struggling to out thus game to he'd it's over really but their o line is pourus at best
Easy for you to say!
Y'all Mcvays offense is nice, can we get some of dat
All we need is a Goff, a Gurley, a.....
Watched some of UNC/Miami. I legitimately think UNC would be better off just snapping it to the RB for the rest of the season. Except for when they play us of course. By all means play those QBs (especially Surrat) if that's the best they can do
Both of UNC QB's are garbage. They have decent running backs and couple good WR's in Ratliff and Dazz but can't get the ball to them.
I wonder if there are any coaches in the ACC that don't hate Fedora.
The answer is no.
This sounds like the subject of a hatin' on thread...
Sounds like he just said "Good job."
Travon McMillian continues to ball out for the Buffs.
The dragon lives.
I've been an apologist for Fuente and co. for giving him his release as he certainly had some shortcomings. However...
I'm wondering - If you need such a specialized RB (and QB for that matter) to make your offense go, at what point do you begin to look inwardly and work to adjust to what you have?
Fuente has been looking inwards and adjusting to what he has for his entire time in Blacksburg. He still doesn't have all the parts and pieces that he needs to run "his offense". Though I feel like he might be getting close.
Not sure why this got downvoted SMH...
I agree with you that he is "getting close", but based on his assessment of a workable RB, we aren't even close.
Seems like a weak game slate this week. Watching the Clemson and WVU games right now. What's everyone watching for in this block?
I'm watching Clemson, but will turn to LOLUVA game throughout. Hoping NCSU throttles them (not likely).
I'm pulling for 'Cuse. Just kind of want to see chaos. Also just don't like Clemson.
From the few times I have seen Syracuse play this year, they pass the eye test to me to be a legit top 25 team. Dino has done a good job up in NY
I am planning to watch the UVA game as well. Looks like WVU is about to curb stomp Texas Tech so I will still only have 2 games of interest
NCSU is up 20-7 at the half. Andddd.... Clemson's QB got broken...
I'm feelin a Cuse upset over Clemson. The Orange are a pretty decent team this season. They havnt trailed at any point yet 4 games in.
Slate this week is better than I realized. OSU/PSU, Stanford/ND, BYU/Washington, ole Miss/LSU
Anyone catch the blurb ok mcsorely on game day? Said VT wouldn't give him a scholly but offered him a spot to try out for db
Just as I suspected, the LOLUVA offense looks like a hot mess against a team with a pulse.
Well, this always makes me feel a little better about life.
It was fun hearing the Gameday crew give VT a shoutout for offering noted Mike Vick fan Trace McSorley a preferred walk-on spot as a DB. That was news to me.
It was a gray shirt schollie offer. Wanted him to prep I believe
Seeing clemsons defender make the tackle every time they get a hand on a guy is making me sad.
Am I the only one not impressed with Ryan Finley? Stares down receivers, routinely throws into double coverage, holds the ball far too long.
Trevor Lawrence took a huge shot and stays down. Who is the 3rd team guy?
Another 5 star freshman.
Nope, Hunter Johnson was a 5* from the year before TL's recruiting class and he transferred to Northwestern, I believe. They have two scholarship QB's and the back up is rFr Chase Brice who was a 3/4* depending on site. He played for a dominant GA hs and won state though so he's not a bum.
Well, Clemson's season may have just gone up in smoke.
This is exactly what Clemson didn't need.
Hunter Renfrow is the emergency QB, even before that hit Lawrence hasn't played that well. Based on the A&M game I wouldn't have started him over Kelly ever, this game is further evidence he's not ready for good teams. And Syracuse is a good team, should've been ranked last week especially with their FSU win, given the fact we were ranked, BC was ranked and now Duke is ranked. Out of the other 3 teams they've looked the best and most consistent and no reason for them to not be in the top 25 coming into this game.
Totally agree about Syracuse. Dungeon is a really good QB and as long as he stays healthy they willl be a tough out for anyone. Especially if their receivers continue to go up and make plays like they have today. I am really glad we don't play them thisnyear
Man, who seriously would ever want to play Syracuse. Everything that can go wrong does when you play them and your season just spirals out of control.
Looks like Lawrence is out for now. Hopefully he's okay, but gotta be some handwringing from Clemson fans.
Dino channeling his inner Time Cop.
Wvu looks very good. All those receivers and Grier just slinging like a madman. Very impressed
Yeah we played them during the right season. Grier is as advertised.
That was an amazing show of body control by Hunter Renfrow on that catch. Wow!
So I just came in from two kids' basketball games.
How did Trevor Lawrence get hurt?
Shot to the head as he scrambled up the sideline.
I think he is going to be fine long term. Just done for today.
Took a big shot in an ill advised scramble and had his neck snap to the side.
As mentioned, should be fine but going to be pretty sore for a few days.
Just throwing this out there, but Clemson is wearing the same uniforms we wore last week.
🤔🤔
Gets real interesting if Syracuse pulls this out. (Also probably ends the ACC playoff hopes)
Wins vs FSU and Clemson, and seemingly having the necessary talent to beat any other team in the Atlantic, and they have UNC and Pitt from the Coastal.
Syracuse and VT playing for the
Big EastACC championship at the end of the year.Clemson probably doesn't deserve a playoff shot if they lose this game, but their brand and recent CFP appearances might outweigh the ACC being shit.
Well, they did lose to an eventual 4-8 Syracuse last year and still went to the playoff. Despite the rest of their schedule being much easier than last year's, somehow I don't think they get hurt much if they lose today. Especially if this Syracuse team ends up at least decent for the rest of the season.
Tbh I guess an undefeated Syracuse would be similar to Wisconsin last year. Conference championship would be their only test after and it better be against a 1 loss tech or Miami team.
Syracuse hosts Notre Dame two weeks before the ACCCG.
You mean to say that Clemson isn't a "test"? I know they lost, ruining your scenario, but still. Wouldn't have been equivalent to Wisconsin.
What I meant was that they'd be knocked for their schedule even if they won the conference title. Clemson doesn't have that burden given their recent history. I think any other ACC that wins the title will always have to worry about a one loss big ten or sec team.
#5 for Clemson just put on a WR blocking clinic on that TD.
Feeling real good about my Syracuse +25.5 bet. 🤣
How long does Dino Babers stay at Syracuse? Dude has done a hell of a job there in a short amount of time. And players seem to love him
Clemson willed themselves down the field on that drive.
Let's see if Syracuse can Syracuse a win out of this...
Seeing the back up an for Clemson make big throws and runs is inspiring. R-fr and 3rd string to start the year. Kid has guts.
'Cuse D is out of gas. Just gave up the go head with 0:40 left. They lead the whole game. Will see if they can put on quick drive together.
Call must have come down, absolutely terrible unnecessary roughness call on Syracuse
First time all season Cuse has trailed. Talk about poor timing
I could have understood if they called illegal use of hands. Unnecessary roughness? Nah.
Swofford called in from Greensboro to save the ACC's only playoff hope this year.
What a terrible call at crunch time in a big game. Unnecessary Roughness ? No way
I was waiting for them to call roughing the passer on Clay Matthews on that sack.
Clemson storming the field after a huge upset.
Weak
They storm the field every home win, it's a weird tradition, but they definitely do this every week.
Sad as it is, they storm the field no matter who they beat.
Edit:

It's honestly becoming unbearable living in the upstate and watching Clemson escape these one score games over and over again. Fortune smiles on them constantly.
Not always though, it used to be called clemson-ing
Yeah, I've lived here my whole life. Those were the good days.
Meanwhile, NC State is trying to give the game away after big penalties on consecutive 4th downs and Texas Tech is trying to mount a comeback against WVU, down 8.
Edit: Looks like the boohoos threw an interception while I was typing that up. With that out of the way, go, Red Raiders!
So did the raiders ha ha ha
What the 3:30 watch boyz?
No clue. Checked the lineup and had little to no interest in most games. FSU vs. LOUISVILLE?
Anything but ODU ECU
LaRussa and Duhart picking up right where they left off against us. Looks like ODU has a new game plan to put up big points.
TENN @ UGA: That's one way to make up for missing a blocking assignment...
I will say one thing I noticed about that Clempson game, Dabo going over to the return man and reassuring//encouraging him after that muffed catch. I know every coach doesn't coach the same, some are authoritarian others are players coaches, some strike a balance. Kudos to Dabo for finding that balance, his kids play hard for him.
Anyone watching the ODU vs. ECU game right now? /s
Yea....That 1 in their record is haunting me.
Bet the Louisville money line. Hope they can keep it together in the second half
EDIT: dammit
Andrew Ford threw for 355yds and 4TDs in a loss...to Ohio.
Oof... Good, but oof...
Charlie Brewer is honestly a really good QB. Easy to root for that Brewer family too.
Also, Michigan struggling against Northwestern right now. Their offense just looks so archaic and inefficient.
Anytime Michigan struggles I smile
My God Hall with the drop if the century right there yeesh
The turnover backpack is soooo bad. I just want someone to stick a Hello Kitty sticker on that thing.
I am officially ready for this prime-time slate:
That looks like our setup in college for the first two rounds of march madness. I miss those four days more than any during my 4 years.
You running all 4 of those monitors off the Xbox??
Lol, just the one on the right. The other 3 are on the desktop I use both for work and gaming.
Had to pull the leftmost one out of storage, I normally just have 3 set up on my desk.
Edit: definitely thought I had the game thread window open.
Notre Dame looking Sharp for next week
Yep, the last two weeks Notre Dame has looked like an entirely different team after the QB switch. Much more dangerous offensively.
Penn State be like
It kinda neat to watch a crowd that big go dead quiet
LOL at Penn State. Happy Valley is Sad Valley tonight.
And if course Franklin calls a TO when the game is over. He can't lose gracefully.
When did Kentucky get decent?
