I would rather we treat this as a big game against an opponent that the country thinks we will lose to than to walk in thinking we should beat Duke every year regardless of how good they actually are.
I don't think that adequate & correct prep+readiness are equivalent to respecting your opponent. I believe they can be mutually exclusive as well. I did previously state that I believe the team should prep, plan, etc as equally (& sometimes more) for Odus as for Miamis & Clemsons. That I will agree with you on.
But to your last part, I say fuck what the rest of the country thinks & just go out there & obliterate them. That sounds a lot like an underdog mentality (which, again, has yet to win us a Natty).

We lost to a lowly FBS team that was 0-3, so yeah it's an upset. Reality as to which teams have looked and play better is what it is even if historically it isn't the case. In any case it'll be a ranked win as well. So I agree...it'll be an upset.

From that 1st defensive series I was disappointed at how slow it took them to get (& impose) to Jones, but satisfied with the stop.

The primary culprit is our lack of any kind of pass rush or pressure on the QB. DB's will almost always get beat eventually, they are playing at disadvantage from the snap, so when the QB has all fucking day someone will get open.
That isn't to say we aren't playing coverage poorly, but DL pressure can mask a lot of issues on defense.

Need some discipline in these play actions by Duke. You guys are complaining that the DBs are getting burnt like it's athleticism. It's not ready keys and biting on PA. It's hard bc Jones will run. This game comes down to Pass Rush and the DEs more than anything.
Our DBs are getting beat, that lack of experience and talent is really showing up. All over including with our safeties. Looks like all those dismissals and injuries are hitting us along and the mirage that was that FSU looks to be the exception not the norm with our DBs.

I think the coaches are overcompensating what happened last week when being aggressive before the half.
Willis played really well. I really want to see them open him up on the run though.
Offense looked good in the first half. They are keying on our run and Willis is making them pay. I think if he can keep from the costly TO we should put up another 2-3 scores in the 2nd half.
However, I think we have been fortunate on D this far. Even though we seemed to lock in better late in the 2nd quarter I expect to give up some points and yards in the 2nd half.
Agree, I just want us to come out and punch them in the mouth to start the third quarter. Just totally take any sort of wind out of their sails and put it out of reach. Foster with a three score lead will let the defense really pin its ears back.

One punt 3 scores a lot of no calls on the other team. Not too shabby. Was a bit concerned at the defense early but they've stiffened up a little bit.
Would like to see them get to Jones more. Have seen a few plays where Dax is spying Kones and is really just standing in front of him while Jones looks downfield to throw. I mean I get the spy but at some point attack.
