I dare Rudy to walk into the Terror Dome

My son is an 8th grader on a 9th grader team that's undefeated and hasn't won a game by less than 25 points. He is on the scout team. This is his reality. Everyday. And he loves it.

Good for him. He'll get there in time.

Maybe so, but even the fictionalized Rudy only got a couple of plays. That's the point of the movie though to me. It's all about team and heart, and that doesn't just belong to the stars and starters, but to everyone that makes it all work.

Reel men fish on Wednesdays

It gotta stop watching this. It's making me feel like it's Monday at work already.

It gotta stop referring to itself in third person.

It say that too funny to fix now.

Obligatory Rudy was offsides.

Hey guys, don't know if we have a where to watch thread, but I'll be in New York for a wedding, staying in Long Island, right across the river from Manhattan. Any recommendations that aren't too far away? Alumni chapters?

Haven't lived in the City for more than 20 years, but try this if you haven't already: Manhattan NYC Hokies. It says something going on at Dewey's Pub in the vicinity of Madison Square Garden/Penn Station, between 30th/31st Streets, half a block east of 6th Ave. maybe. Really hard to get lost in Manhattan's mid-town area so should be easy to find.

BTW, technically right across the River (East) from Manhattan is part of Long Island, it also comprises two of New York City's five boroughs. Brooklyn is to the southern end, and Queens takes up the northern end. I suspect you are staying in Long Island City right around Queens Plaza, or more to north in Astoria/LIC. That area has boomed in the last decade. If you find a place with Hokies, in Manhattan most likely, you can take a taxi across the 59th Street Bridge, or hop the 7 train (elevated in Queens to 42nd St. and Times Square in Manhattan) and walk down a bit. Or take the N/R trains to 59th Street/Lexington- 7th Avenue/57th, Times Square and on in a downtown direction of Madison Square Garden. I wouldn't quote me on taking the R anymore as it was different when I was there in the Spring and weekend schedules always suck in NYC. Take a taxi back at night as trains don't run so often late. Note: some drivers don't want to cross into Queens late a night. They will (or used to) take you to the Bridge where you can meet a driver looking for a fare into Queens where they finish their shift.

Have fun.

Yeah, we're in between greenpoint and long island city, just south of the Queensboro bridge. Great info for traveling around, been here 10ish times but have never stayed outside Manhattan.

Dewey's Pub... I would try to make your reservation now.

imagine if Rudy had been coached up by Bud Foster. He never would have been offsides

Movie about Sam Rogers> Rudy

I love a good nap. Sometimes that's all that's getting me out of bed in the morning.

Sam Rogers is Rudy making it to the NFL!

And scoring on the eventual national champs.

Then going ham the next season and taking an first round pick and faking him out of his jockstrap for another TD.

The Dude Abides

I want to see one of those program defining wins so bad. This is a huge opportunity for this program to get some recognition.

I really want to be too pumped up to go to bed tomorrow night.

I bet you never realized that Vince Vaughn was in the movie as well.

I bet Vince Vaughn doesn't remember he was in Rudy

The Dude Abides

I bet Vince Vaughn doesn't remember coaching wide receivers at VT and then tweeting at recruits on his next stop at aTm

He isn't very athletic and doesn't have a very strong arm

I hope ND feels the same way.

Is coronavirus over yet?

I feel like the ND football coaches are smart and know stuff.

Edit: Stuff about football.

Louisville - 31

I'm happy to see The Petinos lose any day but DAMN! WTH happened?

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

Lots of Louisville turnovers giving GT short fields, a pick six and Louisville's defense being compete garbage.
